  1. You may take V-156B of Academy boxing with type -1/2 cowling parts (Sprue D at their instruction, instead of Sprue E provided in type -3) but aftermarket decal for yellow wings needed. Edit: V-156B also has type -1/2 wing parts
  2. It isn't. After I finished it I received some valuable advice, which informed me the camo was usually painted by brooms instead of spray work on actual aircraft, with a much more dense looking.
  3. Fantastic camo! AIMS's converting set has accurate shape--Hobbyboss offered an odd one in their 1/48th kit.
  4. I built this kit around 2014. Almost straight from box except buckhead canopy. It cracked when dropped from table, I had to replace it with part from DML kit, which did not perfectly fit. I planned to build camera bay opened until I found Hobbyboss made a wrong structure-- there should be front and rear fairings attached on fuselage, while they mould it as a new shape. IMHO the main issue of Hobbyboss Me262 series is huge "locate slots" in main landing gear bay. I cut them off without any issue assembling cockpit to fuselage, so what's for them? In all, they are bargain kits with variety versions, if you do not check reference seriously, it's a fun to build them.
  5. Major info of sprues had been discussed in this topic. Just saw a completed one in wechat group last week. Full rivets. Maybe a little deep to some modellers. Separated gun panels with wider "gaps" is OK after painting and weathering. Allover fit is nice as new products from Trumpeter. However my knowledge on Hurricane limited to Mk.I has 0.303 Brownings, Mk,IIc has Hipsanos, Mk.IID has vickers guns... That's all. So cannot tell out issues( if exist) of shape or detail. Well it's quite expensive even in PRC. Although we pay a lower cost here, price tags of Trumpeter kits rises as a skyrocket from last year. For 1/48 Hurricane kit it is most expensive I've ever seen...(exclude Arma). No bargains like Me262 or Ta152 anymore...
  6. Plenty of parts with delicated details ignored before! Hope they would release in smaller scales. According to colour scheme from this link: There was one He111H-22 (or more) with felxible dorsal gun stand instead of HDL 131 turret. A good news to modellers want to combine separately sold He111 and V-1 kits.
  7. https://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/cockpitprofil-me-323 There are some references in detail.
  8. 79 or 02 are most probable IMHO. Amphibious may refer to C version, so called "Wasser-Go"? I read it from several articles but only had a series of photos on a fuselage frame remaining today which labelled Go 242C
  9. Thank you for your patience and explaining! I misunderstood BS_w 's reply yesterday. Sorry for my careless reading.
  10. “Patch” means defect/battle damage occured there, tempotary treated with something like tapes?
  11. After searching on forum, I found a copy of Scale Aircraft Modelling 2018. 10. An article indicates the gas-detecting paint was painted in square of round patterns with 1 inch red edge, quite different from Mustangs in North Africa... Are there any examples of other A/Cs with yellow blotch(es) exclude P-51/A-36?
  12. Merry Christmas! Greeting from Chinese mate! My friend is building an Academy 1/48th P-51 kit-- reboxing of classic Accurate Miniatures. He is about to paint but has some issues for discussing. 1) Camo colours As theme here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235013910-p-51-mah-sweet-eva-lea-137322/ Whether upper camo was OD or Dark Green/Dark Tan ? I feel the former is right. Seems like 2 coloura but does not correspond to any camo schemes. IMHO ground crew rubbed off some dust around markings. 2) Yellow "blotches" In the past some modellers regarded them as paint chipped, now proved not approciate. Is it a "roundel" or a "logo"? Or a silouette of Texas ( 68th OG birthplace)? Then, why several A-36A carried yellow blotch ? Looks not identical to these on P-51.
  13. When Modelcollect released V-1 with launching rail I thought we would get a new V-1 missile---I planned to build an He 111H-22 , with DML Ar 234 out of stock, I bought the FROG "combo" mentioned at earlier replies. I found they look like spitfire and buzz bomb... However I opened a box of Modelcollect (with owner's permission, certainly) I felt the shape and details are odd. Did not buy it to check seriously for poor reputation of this brand. Hope they concentrate on fictive topics.
  14. However the dark green fuselage is usually seen on their G-10s, have not met a G-14 with such camo before
  15. Look at engine bearer there's no curve for large supercharger on DB605AS or D variants. Also the bare metal "corner" behind engine indicates bulge for MG131 ammo box removed. So the dark one is a G-14 from Erla? https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/messerschmitt-bf-109-performance-chronology.41004/ Not dedicately to engine serials but there are some explaining to airframe variants and corresponding engines
  16. Although Fw 190V18 from HB is a quite new kit, I recommand modellers GET RID OF it. Did not check much reference cause I found curved side windshields and weird shape of canopy's bottom edge. Every luftwaffe modeller knows V18 was converted from A series, while designer of the kit (I don't know who) just copied a profile full of mistakes. If they even got this part wrong , you can imagine what else. So please keep your wallet. Among we Chinese modellers, there is a saying that "if you check any reference while building Trumpeter kits (including other labels under this brand) you are losing" While, if you just want to stick parts together and paint, this kit is a pleasure to you, except price tag.
  17. I don't know which url is approciate to forum... if I click the pic it become original size
  18. Well, I hardly build large scale or helicopter, so reference is little. About 10 years ago I bought an Italeri OH-58A in 1/48----just planned to buy some Tamiya acrylics at first! It was cheap but crude. Now I meet some Academy 1/35 Kiowas on scale----about 100 RMB equals to $15. After searching I found engine and rotor need to scratch build, cabin is different to. Checked some photos but cannot tell whether clear parts differ. So how much work needed for converting D variant to A ? If a new windscreen is necessary...I'd like to keep this idea away.
  19. Yes however these sets were developed in early 90s, so there maybe some inaccuracies at today's standard or reference. Set of full versions/variants, some hard to get even resin accessories released. But they are all out of production for long time. DML is re-releasing there early products like 1/700 SSBNs and 1/35 small arm sets, but Su-24's moulds had sold to Zvezda ( at least heard 15 years ago, along with modern USSR tanks) , we may not have Soviet Weapons Sets re-released.
  20. Flyhawk just released their second SBD kit, with SBD-2 participated in Coral Sea Battle. New molded D sprue (left) represents smaller air outlets behind cowling and single rear .30-MG on SBD-2 version. C sprue (right) for comparing, not included. Comparison of decal and pre-cut masking tape. Early type roundels and rudder stripes included, stripes can be painted with tape, so there's a larger one in SBD-2 kit. 3 sets of markings, one for GC attached to CV-6, other two are from VB-2 and VS-5 squadron.
  21. Not an Advertisement... but my friend just received an 1/72 SBD-2 "preview" from Flyhawk. Two resin main wheel sets included, one "smooth" and one "circumference" pattern each. He wonders which type should be used for different markings. I checked some photos of actual aircraft and found quite many with smooth tyres. Then, go to accessories.. even diamond or block patterns for SBD. IMHO USN did not have so many tyre patterns like USAAF (see what Barracuda released for P-51) but were there any"instruction" or "rule" to use these tyres? Or some were "late" patterns? Or, just used what in stock.
  22. I'd like to do some corretion with styrene tubes or cards, add panel lines according to some drawings. Resin replacement maybe hard to get and expensive..
  23. Sector=Hasegawa=Pacific Model sprues (with resin cowling and detail parts) Flying Machine perhaps used Special Hobby parts, maybe we'll get one under the latter label someday, like Re. 2005. I do not recommand Sector kit, even PCM edition. You get a corrected cowling but still need to make deeper wheel wells, scribe panel lines, remake fabric looking of control surfaces.. unless you get a resin wing.
  24. Great work! When I met Italeri Me410 on catalog, I was attracted by its "late version" colour scheme. However, later I learnt no 81/82 paints that period. From Osprey Combat Aircraft series we can get same photo @Crimea River posted. It explained that the camo was 74/75 with dense mottles. I stand with Osprey too.
