  1. Mr Baron,Miggers is here at my house and says great finish but he thought you'd have done it with a runaway prop and the crew jumping out of the back. He reckons you know what he means. It is a smashing plane. Cheers,Ken.
  2. could these be of any use to you: http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/richardedmonds/2011-06-11/lot_531?prev_page=search results&prev_url=%2Frichardedmonds%2F2011-06-11%2 Cheers,Ken
  3. hi Mr Gazotipede, Your in luck,my mate Miggers has just called at my house. I showed him the Spitfiresx2 being done by cedB and then he had me look in here for him(he's sitting by me now I'm on my laptop) and he spotted this entry by you. He says the Spit 22 to 46 is easy, just change the prop, add the tail hook and cut/reglue the wheel bay doors to match those plans. He also says that the fighter windscreen in the 22 kit is ok to use also but to remember their were only 24 46's built,so not much choice of squadrons. He says the 47 is more involved but studying the guys plans will help you because they are very good but basically do all the changes for the 46 but also fill and remake the flap line(further forward)and adjust the back of the radiators to suit that. Also some of the wing panels lines also need filling as they are different on the 22 wing to the 47 wing. he says a guy on here(he thinks its "Bedders")has done one and it came out really well. Cheers,Ken(and Miggs)
  4. Hello Mr CedB i've been thinking aboiut doing a plane and mentioned it to my mate Miggers he told me to get this kit as it is easy to build and paint and looks great when done. I don't build models at all but i do fancy a go at a Spitfire so i'll watch if you don't mind. Cheers,Ken
  5. Thanks for that Stix. That really is one super Spitfire, having seen some of Miggers planes,I can tell you that is something exactly like he does. It sounds from reading through your build log,he really helped you and the other guy along a lot with all his information and links, typical Miggers. When you ask him for help with something he knows about he goes to town and really looks after you. When I get a chance,I'll message you about how I know Miggers and his family background(a lot of "military" and aviation). If your current tank build up will end up like that plane then it'll be super too. Cheers,Ken.
  6. Thanks Stix. I sure will pass on your regards,he was certainly ok at the weekend when he asked me to ask one of you guys on here(Fritag)about RAF Jaguars(he reckons Fritag used to fly them)and yes,he certainly knows his spitfires. Could you link me to that one that he helped you with please,I'd like a look at it. Cheers,Ken.
  7. Do you mind if I watch this please Mr Plastix, this is one tank I know when I see one. My good friend Miggers has a great RC one that I've seen him driving,I'n not sure that it's your one here, but it is painted in desert colours and looks brilliant when he drives it in his garden.
  8. Now I think about it,that looks just like it is on display in Cosford museum. Really good work Mr Bill.
  9. I think I've seen this plane at RAF Cosford Aircraft Museum. It looks really good. An edit: I just gave my mate Miggers a phone call and he tells me I'm correct,we saw it last year at the Cosford air display and that there is a great documentory about it out on the 'net somewhere(I need to go look for that). Thinking about it,I remember seeing the plane, pretty big and white and front head on it looked like some sort of alien ufo. I said to him that a guy called Bill was building one and he said Hi Bill.
  10. I called in at my mate Miggers house yesterday and oddly enough,he too is doing a XVIII from bits of other kits. I know it's based on the Airfix Spitfire 22,he says the kit is very accurate. Anyway,he's used the main body with a wing he's converted to the correct type. What he'd had to do with the tail though(he'd bought a resin one like yours from Freightdog)was just use the rudder part. He said he'd cut the tail off the airfix body but the same part of the resin one was too wide, wider than the body. He'd had to re-attach the airfix tail to the airfix body and refill the joint. He says his will be the silver one with a red nose thats based in Yorkshire when he paints it.
  11. Your very welcome Mr WAFU. I'm sure all you guys would like to see his wartime theme home bar too,I'll try to get him to post some pictures somewhere that I can link you to.
  12. My Mrs and me were at Miggers house last night for an hour or so,he invited us round for a couple in his home bar(still amazed by it). I hooked up to his wifi and showed him the pictures so far of your work on these planes in this thread he was pretty impressed with your stuff I can tell you( I know that these naval seafires are some of his favorites). He reminded me that your one of the guys I should look out for and to watch your planes and helicopters taking shape,so here I am having another look. Great work on the pilot's cabin there Mr FAAWAFU.
  13. Very good indeed. The grey mix has gone on really well. Talking of getting shut of wooden rubbish, there's a guy in our street that has a wood burning stove,so any donations of any type to his wood supply are very well received.
  14. Proper "Tak-Rag" are the best. They come in a white packet with "Tak-Rag" printed on it in green, they're the ones we use at work.
