28mm frozen ice and snow(with polar bears)
Jim Wasley replied to Jim Wasley's topic in Work In Progress - Dioramas
I'll call this finished ,I was not after a master piece just something to use up these spare Polars.Everything I used was at hand nothing special, what anyone else would have. Thanks for looking. Jim. -
This is a Orc resin Bust it is small, don't know it's real scale, only about 5cm square I bought it on line along with another item it was cheap so I thought why not.it was not a bad resin figure all be it small.I added the backing just so it would sit up better,I hand painted the tattoo free hand and I picked something simple,it was painted in acrylics,I've also put in another few pics of a very small metal figure(Highborn Elf) from Avatars of War,just a quick fun thing to paint,I included a pic with it next to a pot of paint just to show how small it is.Nice to find some easy painting just to keep my hand in,or should I say paint brush wet. Cheers and thanks for looking.

I've had these polar bears with figures for some time now I already have these painted, and my lovely daughter bought this second set,I never told her I already had a set,so they have been gathering dust until on a Youtube show I saw some on a nice dio,so I started to hatch my own plan for all of them together,One of the figures I always thought was a little plain for the bear she was riding so off she had to go,she came off easy with some persuasion and a Dremel tool,I used the spear carrier for another figure, that gave her 2 nothing like a spare set of spears, I used some putty to patch the bear and Wallah a new single bear without rider,I used a spear from the spares box(try say that 10 times fast) and placed this in the side of the bear,I know nasty am I not,but this gives some extra drama to the scene and the blood looks good on white.I had some styrofoam laying around,Like all good modellers do 😉 and I proceeded to make some ice and snow,a little hard this time of year down here, had to work fast before it melted. That's the story so far. Material used,ASOI&Fire kit Frozen Shore Bear Riders,Styrofoam,White Glue,Tissue Paper,Acrylic Paints,Modelling Clay. Cheers Jim.

Jim Wasley replied to Jim Wasley's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
Thanks, Yes they seem to be a new edition.Funny you had to look them up l myself know nothing about the game of thrones but I did have some on display once and everyone that came knew them all by name, they seem to be popular as it's always hard to get the knew editions.Reading this seems l'm crazy 🤪. I just enjoy painting them, and l hope that's what it's all about. Cheers Jim -

Me either.l just paint the figures. -
Theses are my last paint of my growing collection of A Song of Ice & Fire figures,I tweaked some of the figures buy moving the arms and the figure with the banner I moved it to get a better look at his face.these were fun to paint as I could use my imagination as to any colours I liked, the box art did show some colours but I just brightened them up with a play on colours,It was a shame the faces never had great detail,I did my best to give them some lift to the features, the b/w caped figures I moved 2 figures hands to show more of the face,it was a shame they could have been nice as they had a crow like face. All the boxes you see are painted,I do enjoy these figures as they come complete no glue needed just paint and in today's money they are good value. Cheers and thanks for looking,Have a good one. Jim.
