  1. Iā€™m thinking XK-120ā€¦.
  2. Well, that is a very good reason. Too bad though. Have a fine Christmas!
  3. Very nice...I would have expected fewer croissants in the box after some time...
  4. Thanks Tim. So far, so good. This afternoon's labours... No complaints from the cab construction. I've masked off the windows for paint and given the interior some black on the seat and steering wheel. You won't see it anyway... Some light sanding on the joints has given a bit of weathering, unintentionally of course. I think the paint will stick better. And it looks good on the chassis. A preview of what's to come. The spare wheel. I'll paint the chassis/cab separately from the rear bed so I can add the spare before the bed goes on. The rear. I have an option for 'seats up' or 'seats down.' 'Seats up' is what I have chosen. 3 drums, some fuel and/or water jerry cans. I have some ideas...Also I think I will scratch build some kind of firefighting gear like I did for the Dodge. I have the time and the ability to do so. Time spent: Total time today, so far...1 hour, 40min, 51 seconds. I'm rounding up. Time to completion: 22:19:09 Dinner this evening. Mediterranean Sea bass, aka Lavraki (Bronzino) Some salad, baked sweet potato, xorta. Fruit for dessert. --John
  5. I agree. I'll try my best to out it to good use. Thanks! Thanks Jeroen. I'm in the middle of a photo shoot and would prefer the foggy rainy stuff myself due to the subject. It'll be here next week...
  6. And we're off...I woke up, made the coffee, fed the cats, brushed my teeth, etc......and went to the bench...Good morning everyone from sunny, chilly Greece...šŸ˜ Step by step is difficult but I documented when and where I could...this is a nice little kit with parts that fit well together. The single transaxle set-up is nice and it makes life easier. Fitting it on the chassis required me to attach one side of the leaf springs first to make sure it was all in the right place. I started the cab interior. I think I will add some paint to this before closing it up. But first the glue must dry. And this is where I will stop for the time being. I'll get back to it this afternoon. Time... --John
  7. Always loved that era of the Bronco. I look forward to seeing it.
  8. I've only just opened the box...nothing more...and laid out the sprue... It looks pretty straightforward. It'll be a component build for sure... Engine and chassis and the start of the cab...wheels will go on last... Finish the cab, attach to chassis and start in on the back end... Finish the bed, attach it to the chassis...minus the guns. The smaller pieces--the oil drums, gas cans...they will be assembled and painted and made ready to load up. My little scheme is to build and assemble as much as possible in the first round, then finish that part, then overall Tamiya Olive Drab which doesn't require any primer. Then once that is dry I will go over it with some red spray, a bit of hairy brush work...etc..."What could go wrong?", he said... Now the question is this...do I have to wait until midnight tonight, UK time, to begin, or can I jump in at midnight Greek time (22:00 UK) and wrap it up by 24:00 Greek time (22:00 UK) on Monday Tuesday, using the Great Escape scheme of a 24-hour build within that timeframe? Of course I will document the time...Food? It'll mostly be coffee... --John
  9. I'm actually hoping it will be a straightforward and quick build.
  10. I see, I see...then not to worry please. I have plenty of most of the NATO group to satisfy the requirements of the GB. Thank you for the decorative touches (or is that touchƩ)!
  11. Thatā€™ll be a shoo-in. Add me to the list please. ā˜ŗļøšŸ‘šŸ»
  12. I checked...Scalemates doesn't have the plans for my specific kit but an interweb search revealed that they look much different and the moulds are different too. So no dice. That's ok. Thank you again for the heads up!
  13. No need! It's always good to check these things out!
  14. I was sure I had signed up for this Patrice. I'm glad it made it. Count me in please!
  15. Thanks for the heads up. I find it difficult sometimes to trace the lineage on Scalemates. šŸ˜
  16. Aha... @vppelt68 I noticed the very fine list with all the flags alongside our names...That's great. I see that I have the French flag next to mine? No offence to our Freres FranƧais, but I was born in Ireland to an American family and raised in the USA. So would you be able to switch mine to the stars and stripes please?
  17. I have an Eastern Express Sea Venom, an AModel Gipsy Moth 60G and I think I have another Hasagawa OV-10A Bronco in the stash. Obviously these are not FROG but from moulds nonetheless. I am sure the question has been asked. I will ask it again. May I include these?
  18. I agree. I know that in the US at least, following WW2, non-combat soft-skin vehicles were essentially given away too local city and town departments for road work, etc...the war effort had deprived the country of civilian vehicles for 5 years. I also think there is GB suggested for 2025 along these lines...although not exactly...šŸ˜‰
  19. Thanks SD. me too. Thank you James. It just looked a little bare without them and they were easy enough to add.
  20. I added a few little pointy bits from scratch in the past two days. I used the boxtop art and some photos for reference.. These are mostly various antennae. And then I added the decals. In all the photos I have seen of the Libyan aircraft there are no stencils visible. So I skipped them. The decals, on the whole, were alright even if the roundels were a trifle out of register. I wish they could have gotten that right. Anyway...it will look good from 75cm away. Decals... I have only to attach the prop/spinner and the undercarriage doors. I am not sure about weathering. These are pretty clean machines. --John
  21. I'll do the whole thing during the Blitzenbuild. As I said, OOB but with a different paint job and less military gear. I won't worry about all that drilling gear or even the accuracy of the image. It's more a guide than anything else.
  22. It's really a matter of paint. Not much else. Other than that it will probably be OOB, even less so since there will be no weapons. Thanks James. It's one (civilian surplus duty) I have been thinking about for a few months. Thanks Pat! This is fun looking. An Icelandic oil drilling vehicle...or something like that. Disregard all the drilling gear for the moment. The overall vehicle is excellent. Obviously not my photo! Thanks Alamy.
