    That's a nice film Pinback thank you. I loved seeing the Dewoitine 500 squadron zipping past. I am surprised no one has built a full-scale flying replica of that plane. It's so pretty.

    These pre-war French designs have always seemed to be quite beautiful in their design. The Moranes, Dewoitines. etc...such sporty machines during a time of relative peace in Europe. You have made one of my favourites into yet another jewel!

    What you cannot see is that the cowling areas and some other parts (struts, wheels) are already painted aluminum and masked. The second colour to go on is the blue undersides of the wings. The fuselage is all green but that comes later. The wing is not actually curved. That's the wide-angle effect of the camera lens. I know. It looks weird. Or maybe it's the cold medicine I'm on. 😵 --John

    I have a head cold which is sapping my strength and some of my wits. In any case...some progress on the Spitfire (and it will be Egyptian)... My version of HSS...rattle-can Humbrol Aluminum, lightly sanded down and then a light overspray of Vallejo Duraluminum. Little bits. The wheels are finished too, but I forgot to photograph them. I blame the drugs I'm on. The prop bases have their Trainer Yellow tips and await the black... I guess I should mask and paint the canopy now. --John

    I haven't updated in a while. I was off-island for a few days and, in the meantime, contracted a wicked head cold that is sapping much of my energy. I'll do something today and get back in it, slowly...

    Thanks for the AsianAirArms SIG link. That has a lot of cool stuff there. I found a sheet that has the correct Afghan roundels but now I am considering just building the Colt OOB for fun, not for the GB. That GB is going to be a tough one for me because two weeks after it begins, I head off to Ireland for a 2700km bike ride that'll take me about 5 weeks. Fun? You bet...but not much chance to do any building along the way!

    Actually Valom makes an An-2 kit with Chinese and Afghan options. Unfortunately it is 1/48th. Not my scale.

    I could always make the An-2 an Afghani ship. I have seen a profile of that one. I'll have to paint the roundels...😱 I am pretty sure they are on the fuselage sides and on top of the upper wing, none of which we can see in this image.

    Oh yes...This one, a, AN-2 and a Frogfoot. I'll need help with the Colt. I can't find any decent profiles from that 1980s era from Afghanistan even though they were probably all over the place. I might just give it some red stars and call it a day.

    Thank you AW and Tweener. A bit of primer. The underside image didn't come out so well so you'll to trust me! ...and the other bits... Today I'll drill the very few rigging holes I will need. I'll construct a new gunsight and put that on then I will the top wing. --John
