good call... so it is as I imagined... random boxes I thought someone had a more organized way of doing it the one I saw at an airshow had even a paper on to of the lid with shape of planes and their name so he knew what was inside looking at the lid... I thought the space for storage was a common problem / issue we all faced

Good day I am doing the ZVEZDA 7302 Messerschmitt B-109 F2 Snap Fit Aircraft Model Kit 1:72 which is like the photo below. I have a question about that decoration/thing/cover around the tail. What is that and what was used for? I have never seen it before. Thank you!

Good day everyone. I have made my 40th model and I am starting to face an issue that I believe is common to a lot of us: where to store/keep all our models? I do 1/72 ww1 -2 aircrafts so they are pretty small and this save space, but they are a lot.... I dont want really to display all of them on shelves as I am not exactly proud of all of them. Also I like to have a small display space of around 20 and rotate them on an occasional base, so I need to store them, away somehow and i am not sure which is the best way. This is what I have thought: - plastic boxes (the one used for under bed storages) with a foam layer bed and cocktail sticks to avoid the plane to move. the issue is that they are high, like 18cm and they take a lot of space if a pile 3-4 of them together. - various tailored made plastic boxes (with the same layer of foam above): I can manifacture, adapt or find cardboard boxes but they will not be sturdy and they will be one different to another. - I can pile the planes in boxes this will saw a lot of space but the models will get damaged - wooden boxes: heavy and they take a lot of space. What are your suggestions? or how do you store your planes? I want to save space and have all of them neatly stored easily accessible and most important I don't want all of them on display. Thank you for the link I had a good read at that and found very useful indications. I am not sure yet Why the fuel barrel had a middle valve? perhaps to reach better when the fuel level was low? did they use also a top valve on the drums? I have few airfix figurine with a watering can or with pipes and I need to understand how to place them effectively... the only way is to understand the use of the different equipment.. Wehrmacht means army ok, but in the article say that the barrels they were marked differently. quote :The 200 L drums were zinc colored and, depending on who used them, had Wehrmacht, Heer, Kriegsmarine, or Luftwaffe embossed into the lids and bottoms

Sorry for the misunderstanding I mean Fuel Barrels / fuel drums The external general puposes ones. WW2 era german used by Wermacht and Luftwaffe. Thanks!

Good day I am writing regarding the German Fuel Tanks of WW2, as I don't understand how they worked exactly. I know it should be very easy, but they have a kind of Valve in the center and I am struggling to identify the use... I am doing a Diorama and I want to know how I should but the barrel if vertically or horizontally, while the figurine is filling it up or draining the fuel... Thank you so much for your help

Good evening I am entering to the fantastic world of terrain building for dioramas but I am having troubles in choosing the static grass to buy to make turfs. Its available in all lenght and color and I Need help to identify the most common and most used to make turfs . I do ww 1 and 2 aircraft mainly but Will expanded to military in larger dioramas. 1/72 I have my 2mm Green but what is the workhorse lenght for turfs (mm and color)? So I Can buy a big bag! I know varies from season to season buy in average what you saw that you use more? I have few small bags and I Need a bigger One for volume. Thanks

thank you very much I will go with nuts its cheaper @Ade H so 2 of these nuts M5 in vallejo. on ebay 100 are selling for 3pounds. not bad at all.

@VG 33 I am afraiid its too Late now. its finished.. maybe I will do some weathering. I might buy innfuture a nicer kit and do it properly... anyway when you mean 60/70% tinned. I use vallejo model air, if I thin it its too runny. Which is the tecnique to do fine lines with airbrusch? which the key steps. I removed the noozle protector and stayed as close as possible to the model. I ve an eclipse so it should be ok, Ps. I know I got lazy and I paint brushed the canopy with a bad result... but this canopy is terrible... doesnt even have lines to follow for the masking!

Thank you very much for the replies. I gave It a try to my First free Gand air brush experience without any masking... The result came out well in my opinion.. only thing I didnt choose so well the colors I used ! I like this plane because looks loke the citroen ID 19 of 1970 in some ways... Here the photo of my result.. I wish I chose a different green and darker brown... anyway there it is... this kit boosted 100 times my confidence in free hand airbrushing @VG 33 i follwed your suggestion now I will apply decal and airbrush future on top.. I hope the green will come out with Future...

Thank you everyone for the tips! I really wanted to try to make barb wire DIY so O added It . For the damaged I ve ready that its good to use the metal of tubes like mayo. Ti give the effective of broken alluminium in the guardate After its thinned with sandpaper...

Thank you @Corsairfoxfouruncle I didnt think of that! some sign of engine issue and black smoke.. I just thought that they lost a piece of wing the right, tale was damaged and gunner wounded.. enough for a crashland.. maybe I am wrong as this plane was called the Flying Tank! withe bullet holes I am not too content, I used a hot needle, but ten I ve read that you should avoid it as they make mess... For the propellers the only think I knew was that if the speed was very high the propellers might have be bent in the other direction... I am not sure if its true. So help me to understand how more should I have bent the propellers? the 2 under more bent? ps. the plane was already finished when I decided to do the diorama... so I had to adapt it.. you know when you look for a model to sacrifice between those on your shelf... then it turn out a nice thing and you are stuck with that odd plane!

Good day I Picked up a cheap Caudron Renault and the camouflage its very hard to make, I am thinking of french one. Is it possible to use Airbrush or better do random with a brush pleas give me your ideas because I dont have idea how to do a proper job.. thanks

Thank you guys! I will modify the barb wire... I made the wire myself... its from the mesh of the racket I bought at poundland to do the static grass applicator... I will rusty it and darken a bit... I used alluminium and wash of gun metal but apparently is still too shiny!. It is outscaled as too big yes? you mean the spines or the diameter of the wire itself? or do you think I should just remove the wire and add a fence or little stone wall and a tree?

Cotton is a great idea, if you can please post a photo or link of the result I can better understand what I should do. What about the color of the cotton? need to be colored in advance? how? regarding wallpaper glue. I ve read that somewhere and tried.. basically wall paper glue its white and if dies not enter in contact with water stays white. You can use a skimmer to keep only the thinner bunches I ve used it one to give it a try... works as cheap option. see photo below.

Good day Here my first Diorama! the plane its not great I know but I needed to try on something I was not worried about. The idea is the aircraft had a skirmish and crash landed,fortunately for them on Soviet territory, close to the border or something.. Rear gunner was wounded and the pilot talks with an officer and a NCO about what happened. All suggestions to do a better work are very appreciated, especially on the terrain, what would you have done differently? I got my inspiration from a diorama of battle pf britain (easy to google)

Thats very nice! I really like that . Nice caretta of poses that a fluid together. Maybe a ladder near the plane? How did the engineers managed to remove the engine cover without It? Cheers!
