  1. Thought mine was decent, but I am in awe of your build.Great work.
  2. Hi Alan Yes I did convert to RHD I think the regular model open top Beetle comes with the option of either L or R hand drive.
  3. Nice build Like it. Nice to see the odd truck on Britmodeller I too like the unmade bed. Good work.
  4. Usually pick some colour scheme & decals off photo's on internet.Rarely build out of the box. Also tend to be influenced by what I think will look good in my display cabinets. As I build cars, trucks & vans I take the view that somewhere any colour could have been used at sometime. Wev'e even had mulit coloured Rollers in the past. Admit am not a slave to accuracy My hobby my choice.
  5. Thank you Marco It was just a fun project as I had 2 kits .
  6. Hi thank you. Colour I tend to choose what I think will look good & different in my display cabinet. Woman's cars were sometimes pink & also for 2 great cruising friends.( My other great passion)
  7. For reasons I can't remember I finished up with 2 Revell 1 24th scale VW Beetle Police cars.Sometime after building Police kit I thought what to do with the other one.Came up with this fun build/conversion.
  8. Hi thanks for comments re wheels. Glad I am not the only one. Josep will continue watching your build with interest.
  9. Nice kit & coming on well. If you enjoy it, the Ebbro Type H Mobile Kitchen (now Crepe Van) is a fun project. On the subject of wheels am I the only one who thinks movable wheels & steering are a waste of time & effort on a static model.Mine sit in a display cabinet & are rarely moved.
  10. Very nice build. Good work. Red/Black one of my favourite auto colour combinations.
  11. Like it Pat. Nice paint job I just finished mine, I used self made Waterman Decals which was what attracted me to it in the first place.
  12. Looking good. A lot of work but a great looking kit when finished.
  13. Great build & paint job. It was my 1st kit build for 40+years, 5 years ago.Still have it on display though it is nowhere near as good as yours.Well done.
  14. Thank you all for the kind words. The mistakes are all mine. You learn something new with each model..
  15. Enjoyed the build very much. Some challenge throughout the modification, including decals, but I think the finished item looks good in my display cabinet .
  16. The engine is a nice build Caterpillar Yellow. Detail from sleeper cab ,which I admit is a little hard to see when in place.
  17. The extension also required the re modelling & lengthening of the boom which in my opinion looks strange stuck up in the air as per kit.
  18. Having previously built a European wrecker Which has the exact same rear portion I decided to extend this by 2 ins. A great 10 part video is on Dansmodelworx U tube site.I kept loosely to the kit paint job as this was the thing that 1st attracted me to the kit.
  19. Thank you so much for the info & compliment. I admit I am just a modeller who knows very little about the history aspect. Nice to know that even in old age you can still learn something new. The new photo is of the boattail speedster which I also have in my collection. Again from Monogram.
  20. When I looked mine was indeed a Monogram 1 24th scale, but of the Packard Speedster Phaeton, which looks to be very similar but in this scale around 8". Maybe the Duel Cowl was larger. Notice it has a extra partition in the passenger bay. Is this the Duel Cowl ? Being a Brit it is not a term I am familiar with
  21. Very nice build. You did a great job with a difficult kit. Stand looks good too. I have built the 1 24th scale plastic one.As you say a fine looking car.
  22. That worked out great in the end.Real impressive paint & weathering job Well done. You can be rightly proud of your efforts.
