  1. It came really well out as finished. I had completely missed it but it’s a truly awesome piece. I love the great effects on the metallic surfaces and the casualality of the background with a lorry just passing that corner like any other day!
  2. Adam thanks, yes it’s digital.
  3. Finally some more update to my Hurricane work.. Edit: I saw that I wasn't happy with the desert background and have reworked it some
  4. Thanks for all friendly feedbacks to everyone and especially to Troy Smith for his helpful advices, nice photos, markings and paint scheme. Also thanks to mackem01 for focusing on the bomb types I’ve done. I’ll adjust them. Nothing has happened here lately as I work offshore and has been away for work, but will be home soon and will continue work on the Hurri.
  5. An update on markings, colours and paint scheme (and new background, even though I preferred the original, but this is better and more detailed) Perhaps it’s a bit closer to the real thing now? I was a bit unsure about the underwing roundels as you (Troy) said it was too big, but really it was actually to small but with wrong proportions. I’ve adjusted it to match the original placement and looks.
  6. Thanks guys I appreciate your corrections, they’re really helpful. I will go back and go through my work.. Mackem, see my link for a photo reference. Perhaps my bombs are a bit off ..? http://www.historyofwar.org/Pictures/pictures_hurricane_ii_bomber.html
  7. Two pieces I've done lately inspired by Hawker Hurricanes squadrons during the african campaign. the first shows a 6sqn Mk IID ('Tin opener') with two 40mm Vickers gun and the other a pair of Mk IIC with the 4 x 20mm cannons. I figure if anyone can spot errors thismust be the right place to go checking.
  8. Vickers Wellington HD-E of RAAF 466sqn (piloted by the New Zealander Morton). The last plane to bomb Hamburg in the horrible 'Operation Gomorrah'. Thousands of planes bombing the city night and day during the last week of July, 1943. Over 45000 lives were swallowed by firestorms racing through the city, more than 800degrees hot, consuming everything in it's way
  9. Very nice and clean work, is it meant for T-shirts only or do you sell them as prints too?
  10. That came really well out Bob, I love how you’ve done the light effects and how you have managed to create the right blur to give a true sense of speed and drama to ti piece..
  11. Such a beautiful painting ( and story) the days when the pilots were the knights of the sky and heroes and really a bunch of bravehearts. I doub’t the odds they fought would have tempted many young pilots of today...
  12. This could easily pass as a ‘50’s boon cover. Lovely classic style. Got to love the G.1A’s lines
  13. Beautiful work, Bob. What a great idea to use it for fund raising. You catched the great looks of the ‘Tiffie’ well
  14. Desperate days A 725th BS/ 45th BG B-24H, nicknamed ‘Extra Joker’ was attacked 23. August 1944 during a raid on Markersdorf airfield in Austria. Two FW190 of JG3 attacked them and in seconds a fuel tank was penetrated, almost instantly it caught fire and ‘Extra Joker’ plummeted downwards in a death dive and eventually exploded, taking all ten of her young crew with her. The kill was well documented as their photographer flew as guest on an other ship on this mission, to take photos of their plane. Shocked to see him friends fall to earth in flames, all he could do was to cover their death on film..
  15. Again, I like your clean and fragile, light stroke pencil drawings... Looks like you sat next to them there, scetching... I wouldn’t mind at all, having one of those on my wall...
  16. That’s a really nice piece of work John. I like your style, mood in the painting (looks very correct for the era) and last but not the least the choice of subjects. A really nice collection. Very very nice work.
  17. Lightnings are great, no room for discussions 😊 your work is also coming along nicely and has all the potential to be great. Nice angle and great sea surface.. I shall follow you 😊
  18. Ok but if you came in second place last year, competing with a waterline model of a sub, against a battleship, that’s still pretty dam impressing I’d say.
  19. I wanted to say it looks great, it does but in a tiny way. It’s beauty. Beautiful sea too 👍
  20. Congratulations with a fantastic job done! It’s when your model sits next to the coffee mug, one really sees how tiny it is ... It’s truly awesome.
  21. I can’t wait for the exitment and shock among the audience when Kate Winslet appears on the scene to switch those beautiful LED’s on. When they dim down the lights in the show room, it will be an breath taking sight! 😍
