  1. Oh of course! Sorry my bad - i misread it. Cool šŸ˜Ž
  2. Exciting options looking forward to follow this But doesnā€™t bonnie b ii have a fillet?
  3. Placeholder for my twin projects Iā€™ve found myself suddenly a hoarder of the recent Eduard mustang releases. Hence thereā€™s an overwhelmingly mammoth selection of subjects to choose from - I definately want to do one in olive drab and the other BMF. not sure yet i keep changing my mind, but: Iā€™m thinking perhaps ā€˜Rovin Rhodaā€™ from the chatanooga choo-choo set And perhaps ā€˜Creamerā€™s Dreamā€™ from the royal class set. A bunch of AM comes with the royal class set: resin wheels, resin exhausts, for two aircraft (and just 1(?) display base and all sets come with PE IPā€™s, seat belts and paper masks I also picked up a couple of eduards Lƶƶk IPā€™s not so long back but i may end up using the PE. I think it looks better in the flesh, and an alternative resin wheel/tire option with chunky tread. Canā€™t wait to start this GB itā€™s gonna be a lot of fun!
  4. Hi Patrice I also have a dual build ready for this. But if possible Iā€™d like to do it in one thread as the bullds will be completely identical at each stage except paint at the end. I hope that is ok. edit: they will also be made simultaeneously
  5. Ok thanks chaps. šŸ‘ i didnā€™t want to take over the thread or anything but i understand. p.s. For your info there is now a nice set of corsair decals on their way from a nice man in the states šŸ™‚
  6. I was referring to the fact that I was talking about specifically just my corsair markings and it kinda took over the feed, rather than a generic veiwpoint. So iā€™ll save it for my build thread.
  7. i dreamt I was eating a giant marshmallow last night. When i woke up this morning my pillow was gone?
  8. Sounds like you got a good one.šŸ‘ my box wasnā€™t sealed and the decals were extremely fragile breaking up all the time.
  9. Great stuff. The great thing about this build is that any mistakes we make, like a fingerprint we can put it down as ā€˜...i did that as A nod of the hat to my childhood buildā€™.šŸ˜ So enjoy the raised panel lines, possibly imperfect white paintjob and all the period wonkyness - we canā€™t go wrong šŸ˜‰
  10. Thanks a lot Matt. Itā€™s a really nice kit, goes together very fuss-free i found. hope your decals are good. Looking forward to see your build when you get to it.šŸ‘
  11. Youā€™re too kind, thanks so much S!
  12. Your piccianclick references and many other corsair markings are relatively do-able once a stencil sheet of numbers has been bought (with the large markings scratched). Could be the way to go for more freedom with schemes. I never thought about doing that before @Corsairfoxfouruncle Brought up the idea. It could be cool as they were sprayed really roughly on the real things I think I may have inadvertently hijacked this thread, sorry all, as you were...
  13. 36 dollars for the decals, then shipping, then we pay considerable customs import tax on goods from the US here so Santa Claus might have a heart attack if I ask him for that espeacially after the initial price of the kit to start with that he (my wife) got me šŸ˜‚
  14. Iā€™m not sure iā€™m experienced enough to make masks but now since you mention it most there yes those shapes do look quite straight forward if i can track down number stencils
  15. Thanks a lot Craig šŸ‘ They look cool. I was searching around last week and the decals/markings for 1/32 corsairs are quite bountiful but the f4u1-d theres a limited number out there. Bur fundekals have an awesome set that i fell in love with but itā€™ll cost an arm and leg to buy these and get shipped to europe. http://www.fundekals.com/corsair_WhistlingDeath.html Click on the instructions pdf to see all the variants and references they show the overspray on the real things and how to achieve it with tape mm size in 1/32 - so cool! So with the cost of these and the lack of exciting alternative options i may stick with the kit set.
  16. Hereā€™s my Hasegawa 1/48 Starfighter now free from the shelf of doom
  17. Out of interest here is the starfighter compared to its stablemate, my last build, a mig-21, its really interesting how different the metal finishes turned out.
  18. Hurrah. And sheā€™s done warts anā€™ all. Iā€™ll stick up some shots in the gallery. Iā€™m glad that oneā€™s over and its off the shelf of doom so now onto something new and fresh!
  19. Good to hear Steve, looking forward to hear your story with the chosen kit / kits, it's gonna be fun. ooohhh a ship could be there - great!
  20. Father Christmas has emptied his sack and is completely spent with that one šŸ¤Ŗ Yeah they are such silly prices so iā€™m really nervous about screwing up the build. šŸ˜³ also doubtful if it can be finished within the build timeframe? Reading online reviews it does looks great Though only the tyres being a weak point. Maybe I do a joint build on it - the cheapest corsair and the most expensive corsair at the same time. Must be an old kit out there for 2 pounds somewhere
  21. Awesome builds steve. Its genuinely refreshing to see kits built this purely! They came out really great so far. But I hope you still intend to join us for the group build after all these retro gems. (- and anyone else inspired by steves thread actually including you @Wince - Iā€™m taking this opportunity for a blatant shameful advertising plug here...) šŸ˜
  22. You can now add me definitely with the most overpriced plastic ever. Tamiyas 1/32 f4u1-d is enroute! Yay šŸ¤— Iā€™ve never built such a large scale kit before but canā€™t wait!
  23. Brilliant. Thatā€™s what this GB is all about Tony! Glad to have you onboard. The more Long-winded the better - its really fun to hear everyoneā€™s stories!
