  1. Wow Dave! Really really fine work. This is a beautiful VC-10. Very inspiring. SO good to see the finished Roden kit. Thank you for sharing. Did you make the base? It provides such a great finish for them photos.
  2. Wow! Impressive. The Hasegawa 200 kits are truly great kits. Sturdy plastic, sturdy gear, details just right for out of the box, and fit is usually really good with minimal corrections. Everything you've done looks wonderful so far. Good job preparing the surfaces for the undercoat and primer, and the gear look fantastic. Really like the detail and your attention to proper angles as they "hang" in flight. I have to say...it is amazing to me how anyone can build more than one kit at a time and keep their sanity. If you make it through this, you have everyone's great respect for sure. Thanks for sharing.
  3. This is SO wonderful! Love how you've taught her such great skills in model building, and she has done a marvelous job! KUDOS!! You should be very proud, as we ALL are...for youngsters in the hobby! Can't wait to see the next project...practice makes even better! And love the B-17...what a great scheme she chose. Love the pictures of using the Legos as a jig to hold the assembly. What a great lesson! I'm off to buy some Legos.......
  4. Just beautiful. Really love your attention to the cockpit detail...I can see the turn coordinator! Fine job indeed.
  5. This one's beautiful too! Love the stand...love the model. Great work.
  6. WOW!! You did a wonderful job tackling this kit, John. I've heard more complaints than compliments regarding the assembly of the EE kit. Having never laid eyes on one unassembled, and considering all the issues, you've done remarkably well. Cannot tell that there any issues at all looking at your pics. Nice job on a beautiful bird, and a most difficult livery to master. Agree with you concerning the Alclad application; low pressure and low spray area brings forth a nice finish, provided the base coat is done properly. Did you attempt the landing gear? Just wondering how the gear are in this kit...I will eventually tackle one, and am planning to use the photo etch parts to complete the details.
  7. Very very nicely done! This is a beautiful airplane in the BA livery, and you have done so well in capturing its beauty. I really like the stand to preserve the spindly gear. Thank you for adding to the civil airliner collection here; we need to see more for sure! Don't worry about not having a "studio" for the display pics; love the natural surroundings...makes it look like the superb model that it is!
  8. Good going!! A colorful and unusual 737! Really like the 3D decals on the cockpit windows.
  9. Nice nice nice! Being a Super Connie fan, this one caught my eye. Good work on a challenging build.
  10. Your first airliner build??? Looks very "experienced!" Congratulations on a great build. I'll echo what has been said...please build more...don't stop with just ONE! We need to see more in the airliner craft category. Very nice attention to details, too.
  11. What a beeeeautiful build, Ian! One to be most proud of. Really enjoyed reading the details of the build; the additions, deletions, your pleasures and displeasures. Thank you for sharing this. Truly inspirational.
  12. Really like this one! 1/200 scale is getting pretty small to enjoy the true detail of the airplane. But you have done very well here, and Hasegawa provides a great foundation for a fine model.
  13. Great build, Alex! really love this livery on this fine model. Looking forward to building one of these...you've provided some inspiration to get cracking!
  14. Yep...another beautiful job on an old kit. Kudos for taking the old sow's ear you received and making it into a beautiful silk purse. And a great job on the bare metal foil work too. I've never tried it...but I have a great appreciation and admiration for those who have.
  15. Wonderful job on these old beauties! The 990 and the 880 were both beautiful jets, and you have captured the 990 so very well. And I am truly amazed that you made such a good find on eBay; with one built and ready to restore.
  16. This is absolutely one of my favorite builds, Dave! Just LOVE the old classic 1/72 general aviation/small airplane kits, particularly this one. I have one in my stash, waiting for the inspiration to tackle it. really like your attention to the details inside, and appreciate the lesson on cleaning up the clear parts. Very good work on an airplane that has infinite possibilities.
  17. Wow these are great! I always admire a modeler that can hack up perfectly good kits and make them even better. Really good job on BOTH of these -9s. As for taking a long time to build...takes a long time to make 'em like you want 'em. And patience, perseverance, and careful attention always yields good results.
  18. Wonderful job on these classics! Really good to see the airliner bunch come together!
  19. Yes, the Airfix 727s are simple enough...I've got a couple in my stash, and you are inspiring me to get one started again. Airfix had (has) a way of manufacturing those airliner models simply, leaving detail and "tweaking" to the modeler, which I think is a great way to encourage building them and expression of the artist. I built a -200 few years ago in Eastern livery, and it turned out quite nice. Keep up the good work. Its a pleasure following your Caravelle build. Interesting airplane, for sure.
  20. Any of these are really nice. I am partial to the old American "Astrojet" lightning bolt scheme; and the Continental, Piedmont, or old Frontier (if you can find it) would be good too. Maybe you'll just need to find a few 727s, and build them all at the same time!! What a challenge THAT would be......
  21. The Revell 727s are challenging kits to get just right. You're on the right path...this looks really good. I really like your approach to filling the windows. What will be its livery when its finished?
