Plastic has been cut and attacked with a file and sanding sticks! Cockpit time & seat time , therefore its PE fun ! , The basic kit cockpit and seat are very uninspiring so A little PE to dress everything up. Before : After: Floor and back glues with IP ,all cleaned ready for painting before adding the coloured PE. started adding PE to seat Its time to stop and have my birthday curry and beer with my wife.. painting starts tomorrow

Progress has been made this week !! , with the A-4 STGB starting today I will have 3 WiP threads running this is a 1st !! , best I get round to updating them lol. Work has continued with the cockpit, some weathering to make it all a little dirty and used then its time to join things together

For my 1st GB of the year I will be building the HobbyBoss 1/48 A-4E .. and yes someone has to build a TopGun themed Skyhawk (it is to join the TigerMig I am also building) ... being crafty with the title I have left myself with the option of either the desert camo style or the 2 tone grey aircraft The build will be OOB , though I plan to make the flaps and slats droopy , Eduard PE cockpit and homemade decals , painted with Mr Hobby and Tamiya acrylics. I have managed to grab a couple of hours during the week , and continued work on the fuselage, a nice and relaxing build , as long as you remember to clean all the mating surfaces

I have started in the cockpit - grr ejector pin marks in visible places ... Whilst the filler was drying I started on the spine sub assembly - here dry fit test on the wings Next update soon !

Since going to the movie theatre is not possible at the moment, I am bringing the movies to my modelling . After month working on my other movie build longterm project (Millenium Falcon) , it is time to start 2021 Movie Build 1, and 1st model of the year - the AFV Club F-5E all dressed up as the Mig-28 from Top Gun Lights , Camera , Scalpel & Glue at the ready , it will be building her OOB so nothing fancy to see here. I am hoping a WIP thread will make be build her is a sensible time ie (not finishing in 2024)

Rummaging in the stash cupboard looking for something 'Falklands related' I found the Tamiya 1/48 F16C/N Aggressor kit - please add me to the list

Add me to the list ... though taking Brian Hanrahan's words - "I counted them all out and counted them all back" . Currently I do not have anything in the stash that is suitable - plenty of time to rectify that

I will pull up a seat , eat popcorn, drink coffee , beer and take notes if that is ok , I have one of these in the stash and its on the build list

Fantastic build , that is a beautiful model Note to self : just look at the pictures on TrickyRich threads, admire his skills. Do not read the cool AM parts used .... I have now googled Qunita Studio and added myself to the watchlist for a couple of sets for F-4J and F-14A & D hahaha

Thank You and my Year will be completed with Maverick's Tomcat in the F14 STGB (in between hoping to complete a 33" Millennium Falcon (5 years and counting) & build Memphis Belle , F-5E Mig and Maverick's Super Hornet F-18E for my movie builds) but.... I see the F-16 and F-4 GB's both of which I have kits for , I might as well plan big for this year I usually only complete 4 or 5 builds a year !!

Well my 2nd look at the GB calender, and I see my 'Movie Year themed builds' are coinciding with some GB's As this starts on my birthday it would be rude not to join I have the HobbyBoss 1/48 A-4E and it will be a 1985 Aggressor scheme. Time to start working on sourcing / making Jesters decals

LOL I should have read this 1st before spending an hr on the web trying to find some 1/48 Desert Storm F-15E Strike Eagle Decals for my GWH kit ....grrrrrrrrr Need another plan!

That is a beauty, well done . I totally agree without this GB, all the kind words of encouragement , tips, suggestions and of course the ripping up of the Revell kit instructions !! - I also doubt I would have ever finished my build

Thanks, the key to building the model is not following the kit instructions !!! All of us building the Revell kit in the Tornado STGB used a variation of the 'Flory Models' Build procedure , a little fiddly in places but mitigates all the places where fit issues (gaps and steps) can occur. Everyone in the GB has produced great looking Tornados.

Agreed - Fat finger syndrome they popped convex when fitting they are soo delicate , i already have an idea on how to fix - though that is for another day!
