  1. Because that would have been too easy, just like using the 27mm Mauser from the Tornado. The Mauser even became surplus to requirements (going from 2 to 1) when the Tornado was upgraded to GR.4, so the guns could have been had for free! The Paveway IV is a 500lb weapon (Mk.82 warhead). The UK 1000lb'er is a Paveway II or, with GPS added, Enhanced Paveway II.
  2. Nicely done Dean! It's not a shadow David, it's the dry-spot where the rain can't fall because of the plane
  3. The EFABs in HBs and Italeris 1/72nd AH-64Ds are for the prototype, the production version is as shown in the pictures (except the one).
  4. Those are indeed gunpods cap'n, except there's no guns in them! Royal Ordnance (I think) was given the job of developing a new 25mm cannon for the GR.5/.7/.9. For various reasons, which I can't recall all of but I bet one of them was money, the 25mm was cancelled but they didn't revert to the old 30mm or use the 27mm that is also in the Tornado. Which is stupid. One little thing. UK designations are applied after the name, so it's a Harrier GR.7/.7A/.9/.9A and Jaguar GR.1/.1A/.3 Welcome aboard by the way!
  5. I spotted this on a Greek Rhino at the '06 Danish Airshow Underside of the wing Did they actually paint the whole damn thing white and pink?
  6. Great build General! I'm in awe of how great an idea for a VTOL this isn't
  7. Danish Zippers were tasked with interception, the attack role was filled by the (not-so)Super Sabre and, later Draken.
  8. The Danish Vipers are painted FS26132 Grey and FS26270 Neutral Grey with FS 26375 Light Ghost Gray underside
  9. Looks great Kirk! Intriguing idea doing it like that. The figure looks good too, and 'right' for the era.
  10. Looks great Julien! I take it this was around the time the Aussies started using the rat-roundel?
  11. On Z5, someone is converting two Revell kits into a Caracal, here. One of the Revell kits is an RAF Tigermeet version.

    BAC Eagle GR.1

    Looks great Falcon!
  13. Welcome to the forums Otis, great looking Rhino! The glare-shield and fin base look a bit green, but that might be the photos. Other'n that, great work.
  14. Except App 15 isn't quite the same as the jammers on our Drakens
  15. Greg! Maestro Models to the rescue!
  16. Damn, I'd forgotten about that They're fairly easy to make, even I can do it!The gunpack in the Heller kit is really only suitable as a base for making a better one. It's very lacking, compared to pictures (and a few drawings I've scavenged) of the real thing. Your SkolViggen looks great AV, as do the Jag and Hustler.
  17. I hope they provide the right FLIR, not the UK one shown in the CG pics
  18. I don't think so really. The [AJ]SF should be fairly straight forward - you can get hold of night recce and flash pods from Maestro Models (scroll down a bit, MMK7208 and MMK7209), then it's just the markings that may pose a problem. The AJ could be harder, you will need to construct the pylons and, probably more tricky, the gunpack. Broplan did make a gunpack, but I've never seen it actually for sale anywhere. You'll also need to decide whether you are going to extend the fuselage by 2mm or not - irrespective of which boxing you have.
  19. Either a JA or [AJ]SFJA. Note the Rb99 (AIM-120) under the intake, the JA 37Di was armed with 3 Rb99s, 2 Rb74 (AIM-9L)s and a U-95 ECM pod. Flying Colors Aerodecals have a sheet with markings for the grey JaktViggens AJSF. This one has an Rb74 under the intake on a 'kinked' pylon. Here's a picture of Akktu Stakki, someone made decals for that. I haven't seen any decals for the grey AJSF, maybe they can be pieced together from Gripen markings. Anyways, get the JaktViggen boxing
  20. Cerberus is there, it's on one of the base sprues, but HARM isn't - ALARM is tho', but that's a UK missile
  21. Nope, no RAF bits in the ECR. Come to think of it, no ECR bits in my 4 GR.1s either
  22. There's no Bk90 in any of the Gripen kits, but Dr Pepper have some. He's got other stuff for the Viggen as well.I've heard differing stories about the Blackbird-lockup, some say Viggen, others say Draken. Impressive either way.
