I don't think the movie was anywhere near the hype. I think it's only redeeming feature was it helped introduce HHGTTG to a whole new audience. Oh and Arthur's dressing gown.
I'm about to start the painting of my B-17G. I'm painting it as the Sally-B/Belle. What Tamiya colours should I be using? The Kitsworld instructions are a little vague. They say MId Grey, Pale Mid Grey, Olive Drab, Pale Olive Drab and Dark Green.
I've made a start on the DC version of the MP4-13 from Tamiya. I built it a few years ago (When they released it first time round) but did it with a paint brush. My skills have moved on now and so have my tools. I don't like spraying the Tamiya metallics I much prefer the Alclad lacquers. I've got the silver colour correct but what would you lot suggest for the dark metallic grey. I bought some Alclad Black Chrome. Tamiya say XF-56 Metallic Grey which looks a little light to me. My local model shop only does Revell, Humbrol (Enamels in an airbrush is a no-go for me), Tamiya and Alclad.
I really don't like the new Mclaren. It looks cheap and nasty. Like a back of the grid team. Reminds me of the Arrows or the Spyker. Shame really. Mclaren are the team I've followed since I discovered F1 30+ years ago
I'm in the process of building the first of 3 Tiger Tonka's. This one has an Aries cockpit in it though. Now I know Revell suggest 50g of weight in the nose. The kit has plastic undercarriage. Now because of the resin cockpit if I add the 50g of weight it will put unnecessary weight over the nose wheel. I can't really bring myself to buy the metal undercarriage (read as wifey won't let me, and yes there is a thumb print on my noggin). So how much less should I add?
