  1. Lovely model. I guess the original must have been aerodynamically sound, or at least OK-ish, but this (and the Caproni) look, to me, like the sort of thing that only someone heroically brave or utterly moonstruck would consider flying.
  2. I can't see any manufacturer anywhere making a kit for that one. Did it ever fly?
  3. Hi there Rui, The one I have my eye on is the "standard" size 50" ( 1.25m give or take) span rather than any of the larger variations that are out there. Details here: https://www.vintagemodelcompany.com/kk-minimoa.html VMC also have a 100" (2.5m) kit of their own devising : https://www.vintagemodelcompany.com/v1-s-minimoa-100.html Apologies to Paul J for the thread hijack.
  4. Ahh. Minimoa1. One of my favourite airfames. Nice. It's been really nice to see your glider models as the breed seems woefully under-represented in "Airfix" world certainly when compared to "Stick and Tissue" world. 1 - Stick and tissue types might be interested to know that VMC sell a laser cut version2 of the old KK Minimoa kit which is a bit of a classic as these things go. 2 - Yes. It is on my χmas list.
  5. I've known of the Flivver for a long time, courtesy of Capt. W.E. Johns & Biggles, but I'd never seen a picture, or model of one, so thanks very much for completing my education. BTW the ANT-25 is a cracker.
  6. There's also the odd (very odd, according to the Missus) stick and tissue Free Flighter lurking as well. Nice build and a rattling good write up too.
  7. V22 stooging around over the house about 17:00. On a short hop from Brize to Fairford. Did half a dozen circuits before finally landing at FF and promptly coming back. Think it was waiting for the Italian aerobatic team to finish their practice. Grainy video here and some unimpressive stills in the same album. Am really going to have to buy a better camera cos those images don't convey how low it was.
  8. RIAT this weekend. So lots. Got to watch the Italian team practicing as I rode home last night.
  9. Sunday last, about 13:45. Dakota, wearing invasion stripes, northbound at tree-top height. The B1s were back for annual exercises about a month back.
  10. I do so like these, "off the beaten track" builds.
  11. If it hasn't already been mentioned I think the Flying Flea (Mignet HM 14) must be in with a shout. Eight documented fatal crashes in a year and a design flaw that meant it was easy to put it into an unrecoverable dive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mignet_HM.14,
  12. I remember building one of these up in 19 seventy mumble and thinking at the time what a lovely little aeroplane it was. Thanks for the memory jog.
  13. I like that a lot. There must be an airship meme abroad as only two days ago I was looking at the tissue that I'll be using to cover my current build (a stick & tissue K5083 so not one that'll turn up in RFI here) with and thinking, "Silver tissue, a foil liner and a Helium balloon, hmmm I reckon you could make a flyable R100..."
  14. My, my, my. Airfix kits in a poly bag. Suddenly I'm 7 or 8 years old again. I remember model shops like that. Pegboard displays, yellow "cellophane" in the windows. Who needs a Tardis?
  15. Hmmmm, cracking build of the world's best looking jet fighter.
  16. I think someone needs to have a word with the stringbag's armourers. They're getting a bit forgetful eh? Cracking, cracking builds. I am always impressed by rigging on 1/72 kits, but this looks especially good.
  17. Nice piece of work and a treat to see a B17 in a less common scheme. Makes it look a great deal more menacing than the USAF NMF.
