  1. Very much so! It's a beautiful city full of wonderful people. Gostei immenso!
  2. That's one moerse naais CZ! Love the build! I've ordered the Hobby Boss 1/48th scale III and am looking for some good reference shots. Does anyone know where said hen's teeth are to be found? I'm living Doeronder now, so can't get to Ysterplaat! Thanks a stack in advance!
  3. Thanks for a great review and follow-up, Mike! I am aiming to make this my next build.
  4. Good review! I was fortunate enough to win this airbrush in a random draw in another community I belong to, and am really looking forward to owning a good airbrush! Hasta lluego, cheap Chinese airbrushes hehehe!
  5. Ciao, Giorgio! Thanks for the welcome. Yes, the world is small -- and Britmodeller is big! I have to admit I prefer Melbourne (where I lived for eight years) to Sydney: the ambience is very different and so are the people! But my all-time favourite cities are still Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Lisbon and Cape Town. Va bene!
  6. Just a HUGE thank you for all of you who replied to my query. It's wonderful to be part of such a great community! You rock, one and all!
  7. Hi Sean! Great to meet you. Whereabout is the UK? My eldest son is stationed in Larkhill and the young lives in Brighton. We were in Amesbury and London during our all too brief visit in 2012 and I loved it!
  8. I love Cape Town! I served in the AA Artillery there (regular army) and after that worked at Die Burger in the city. Even when I was teaching in Stellenbosch and living in Somerset West we used to go to the city a lot. Lekkerbly!
  9. Thanks a million! I'll have a hunt around! Thank you, Troy! Much appreciated!
  10. Not sure if this is the place to post this as I am a green newbie, but I had a Tamiya decal go gaga on me -- it's the one between the fuselage and engine nacelle that says "Keep Off". Getting a replacement from Tamiya via my local Tamiya distributor in Oz is going to cost half of what I paid for the kit! Anybody have any suggestions as to where I can get a replacement?
  11. Thanks! Dankie! Good to be here and meet all the experts!
  12. That's no maybe, Doug! Much as I'd love to build some 1/32nd and 1/24th models, there is simply nowhere to display them safely. And, yes, especially 1/48th jet canopies are so much easier to mask when you're no spring chicken any more!
  13. Hi, everyone, I'm a newbie from Oz (well, originally from South Africa where I did most of my modelling as a youngster, but I've been in Oz since the end of 2002). I have returned to the hobby after an almost 30-year hiatus and am enjoying it tremendously. Found so much has changed that it's like starting from scratch! I mostly build aircraft and have set this year aside for jets. At the moment I'm working on a 48th scale Italeri Eurofighter. Thanks for accepting me into the forum, admins! Cheers, Ray
