  1. Hi all,

Here's a few pics of my latest completion - the new tool Airfix Mustang, which I've used a Superscale sheet for.
Painted with MRP and weathered with oils - for the panel line wash and blended in to the rest of the model too.
Also used some pigments for a bit more weathering, and paint chipping brushed on with Citadel paints.
Finish is Vallejo - mix of Gloss and Matt to adjust the "mattness" to get the effect I wanted.
    Hope you like :)

  2. Hi all,

I finished my Hurricane last night and took some photos...

    The WIP thread is here:

    http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234993484-airfix-148-hurricane-mki/

It's the new tool Airfix kit, with Brassin exhausts and wheels. I used the kit decals for the 501 Sqn. option.

  3. Thanks for the comments, chaps.

Well, I've pressed on with my intended weathering as I wanted this to be for developing my skills.

Post-decals, I've done a panel line wash, followed by flat coat and then overall filter and oil paint weathering.

I thought I'd messed the whole thing up when I had a slight misty look after the flat coat but I think the weathering has salvaged it.

  4. Hi all,

Been working on this on and off for a few weeks and this week have been through the painting stages.

Apologies for the lazy iPhone pics - I don't have a permanent photo area at the moment! (but I will set it all up for some shots when it's complete).

So far, I've used Alclad grey primer, Gunze aqueous Sky and Dark Earth and Tamiya Acrylic Dark Green, and Vallejo gloss varnish.

Looking forward to doing a bit of weathering and trying out some stuff I've not really done before. I just hope I don't ruin it.

  5. Think the Thomson Boeing 787 is due to be in service as I have had Tranning to day at work for the b787

Really interested in this - exciting news.

Been photographing up at BRS on and off for nearly 10 years now.

Not that often we get a new aircraft type!

On that subject, do you know if flybe are going to use the Embraers at Bristol again regularly?

  6. This'll be my first pic thread on BM. (Ducks and covers)...

Been trying to do more building than buying of late and here's one of my works in progress.

I've just sprayed Dark Sea Grey on the upper surfaces of the lovely Revell Hunter FGA.9 kit.

The preshading was just me playing with my new airbrush and I don't expect it to show through too much. :ninja

This is also my first "proper" go with acrylics, namely Xtracrylix, which I am liking so far!
