1:72 Airfix Dogfight Double
allyby replied to Shelliecool's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Great work, you should also try the 1/48 dogfight doubles kit, it goes together very nicely. -
Hi Dave, I find myself in the same position as yourself, my reason of thinking is pick up a cheap airfix kit on ebay buy some paint and crack on with it, that way you can learn from any mistakes you make, I'm starting a build soon of the airfix 1/400 HMS Hood that I picked up for under £20.00, I also have a Tamiya, Tirpitz and New Jersey 1/350 but these are more expensive and I need some practise first. I'm trying enamel paints on my build. Best makers I would hazard a guess and say Tamiya and Trumpeter. Sorry can't answer your base question.

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. (Lancaster Finished)
allyby replied to allyby's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Got the hairy stick out and managed to slodge some paint on today, I dropped it yesterday putting the wings on and a bomb bay door came flying off but it was an easy repair. -
Great work, especially after many years lay off.

Engine assembly finished, main bodies done as far as I can go just now so tomorrow should see the Lanc assembled and might even get the hairy stick out. -
Welcome to the forum, can't wait to see your work.

Thanks folks! All buttoned up now, what a carry on putting on the Bomb bay doors but managed to get it eventually, Prop Assembly done and safely put away for now, might even give the main body its first coat of paint today, but first I'll make a start on the engine assembly and undercarriage. -
Looking forward to this one. I'm in!

Thanks for the reply but no Hood in 1/400 scale.

Does anyone know if I can buy one of these anywhere, it's the same kit as Heller so that would also be suitable?
-
Me no know!
