  1. Superb Michel, utterly magnifique. Wish it was mine!
  2. Really nice finish on your Mirage. She must be a big beastie in 1/32!
  3. Really nice Scooter and love the delicate shading.
  4. Thanks Mustang1989. The Acc Min kit was wonderful to work with, I guess she got the creative juices flowing.
  5. Thanks Hewy. I was really pleased with how the torpedo came out.
  6. Really nice work on both kits Bob. Inspirational stuff. The Tamiya D9 is an easy build just overshadowed now by the Eduard kit IMHO. I would like to see Eduard redo the D9 and remove the wings inserts like they have done with the early Wurgers, I would buy a bucketful.
  7. Thanks for the input guys and that's a really nice Dora RetiredBob. Dark grey is definitely the way too go, as well as removing the masking tape as pointed out previously. Doh! its all a learning curve.
  8. Hi Marek, I used Mr Hobby H54 and H56 Navy and Intermediate Blues. If you are careful the semi gloss finish they leave can be decaled without a gloss coat. Just give it a light polish first with some tissue paper or similar. If in any doubt though, gloss it first.
  9. Thanks Walter. Photos- no particular science. The model is sat on an a3 sized white piece of paper, curved up behind it and then the model lit with a couple of studio lights. I dare say a couple of desk lamps with daylight bulbs would be another way of doing it. Throw as much light as you can at it and good luck.
  10. Well I never. Good spot Holzhamer. I can’t believe I missed that. I guess it’s because it’s on the boring side without unit insignia and is faced away from me. Anyway enough excuses. Thanks for the heads up, first job tonight after work.
  11. And it was such a nice shade of oily brown but alas she has to go........ Thanks for the input Farmerboy.
  12. Thanks Joachim, your right . I will darker then up during the week. It’s only a moments work.
  13. Hi there, This is my Eduard Fw190A-4 in 1/48. As others have said, it's a superb kit, my personal favourite in the current Eduard line up ( though I have yet to build the P51 ). I had a go with my version of black basing underneath and I like the effect. I'm not convinced that I got the right colour for the exhaust staining but I didn't want to go for black, I wanted a contrast with the actual dark panel behind the fuselage exhaust stubs. If enough folks think it's wrong I may give it a going over, I'll see. I went with a semi gloss finish as I like the lustre that to me implies metal. Mr Hobby and Tamiya provide the colours. Again, fab kit and I hope to do several more than I actually already have . Feedback welcome, it's the only way we improve. Rick
  14. Ha, i wish. Weekend kit is such a misnomer, for me anyway. I think I got the cockpit done in a weekend!
  15. Cheers Bob, it’s a great kit and I hope I did it justice
  16. Evening everyone, This is my Eduard 1/48 weekend 109E. Painted with Mr Hobby and Tamiya and using the decals from the dogfight duo Airfix 109 as I thought the yellow nose looked so cool. I was pleased with how the exhaust came out and the restrained mottle. She was a fiddly build around the engine and I didn't care for the tail and main gear attachment points which seemed very fragile. That said she has been built a while now and is still a 3 pointer so I guess they are stronger than they looked. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks for looking. Rick
  17. The window sealant!!! Bought the ubiquitous Eduard canopy mask and dutifully sprayed my NMF. Removed said expensive mask and discarded it then realised that I needed to paint the sealant. Oh how I laughed. To cut a long story short, I steadied myself and brush painted the seal, without a safety net. I think I got away with it but I was truly puckered up if you know what I mean
  18. Big, brutish and ugly.....just how we like them. Fabulous model and paintwork. Respect.
