  1. first time back here in a while, I want to know if I can still post pics I present my AMK 1/48 MiG-31 Foxhound in forced perspective. http://www.aesklarskiokb.com/uploads/6/6/7/3/66732247/dsc-4506_orig.jpg http://www.aesklarskiokb.com/uploads/6/6/7/3/66732247/dsc-4535_orig.jpg http://www.aesklarskiokb.com/uploads/6/6/7/3/66732247/dsc-4503_orig.jpg
  2. Hello, it's a very slow model time for me... Hopefully it will pick up soon. I've done a little work on my HB Su-34, and my A-Model 1/72 Mi-10.
  3. I bought the SAC replacements for my GWH F-15C and they were weaker than the already weak kit ones. I couldn't use them. I ended up drilling out the strut and inserting a pin. I would also go G-factor. I won't et SAC gear again basses on this.
  4. Yes. I think I believe that it's only a matter of time before we get even more Flanker variants.
  5. OK, so after a long break, I am going to make an update. I'm almost finishing another model for a full build review and hopefully I should get back to the old Su-33 again. since last post I have made some progress... there was quite the gap in the canopy rails where the sidewalls meet. next it the intakes went on... the fuselage required LOT of clamping and tape and still needs a bit of work. Hopefully I will get some more work done soon as I would like to have this one contest ready by March of 2018. hopefully it DOES NOT take that long!!! thanks for looking!
  6. There is a flanker GB? Oh in must join! And yes a flanker Addiction indeed. These are good times for us with so many new kits coming out.
  7. I actually have both, and the HB Su-27"B" (yes I know the suffer thing ) I also have the Academy single seat one that I want to make a What-if USAF one. I have the Kinetic Su-33 and that's the only canard Sukhoi (aside from the Su-34) I have so far. I plan on skipping the Kitty Hawk Su-35 and waiting for the GWH one.
  8. You know I was thinking that I might be able to make a canard Su-30. I have the Academy Su-30MKK kit, most of the rest is already included in the new academy plastic. The SOL conversation is a bit rough in a lot of the parts, I never really looked at it too close and it's kind of rough, lots of warping, mold defects and pinholes
  9. So I have the SOL 1/48 Su-35/37 conversation kit for Academy. I also have an Academy flanker I can use... so with all the new flanker kits and various types out now including my much stalled Su-33 kit(I know I need to finish it) is this conversation even worth it? It seems to be the only other way to get a canard equipped Flanker other than the Su-33. The new Su-35 kits are of the newer version without canards. So even with the shortcomings of the Academy kit, is it even worth it anymore or should I sell it off? Opinions? Comments? Thanks!
  10. ambitious project!!! Almost makes me want to break out My Aeroclub Monster I have in cold storage.... maybe this it the year???
  11. that's amazing, do you plan on using the Revell AN-124 for the rest?
  12. I got my Eduard PE set in to replace my mangled intake FOD screens, the kit parts are really thin and as you can see in my previous posts I messed them up. Eduard's set are fine mesh as well and see through. replacment installed. Much better, the small dents in the front and sides are ever so slight, the light makes them stand out more then they really do.
  13. Very nice work. I just got this kit and all the accessories... I hope I do as good a job.
  14. are you planning to put someone on top? that would be awesome!!!!!
  15. actually the best ones I found were on the US NAVY website, I saved them when I tried to do a 1/48 SH-60B, when I started working down at the plant, but that was a while ago and I don't know where I put them, I'm sure they are still out there, they showed a bunch of sailors working on the aircraft. I wish I was allowed to take pictures at the plant but I can't share anything from there, its strictly prohibited.
  16. Wow amazing work, I will say from someone who works the H-60 this is probably the closest anyone has gotten it! We wrapped up Serra production last year and I'm really happy to see this thread. Your servo deck work is very close with a few exceptions, I assume you probably don't have many pictures of an S because there aren't many. The servo deck on an S is basically the same as other 60 models, like thw R and M only naval hawks have the 4th stage hydraulic parts. You are very close on the flight control rods, keep in mind the H-60 doesn't have servos on the MGB, only rods, the primary servos (AFT, LAT and FWD are on the deck just aft of the Mixer assembly, foreword of the mixer is the 3 boost servos and those boxes with the small rods at the front of the deck are the trim servos. You have the AFT long push rod exactly how it is on the real example. The other 2 rods go along the deck under the fwd bridge to the stationary swash plate. There are only 3 rods that go from their pivots on the 2 bridges up to the swash plate via the expandable pins. Then from the rotating swash plate we have of course the 4 pitch change rods to the blade spindle horns. I especially love the work on the free wheel/ input modules and the accessories drive modules where the pump and generators are, you have got that just perfect.... again as an H-60 girl I really appreciate this work! By the way nothing I said was ment as a criticism at all, may not know how right you got most of this stuff! I'll be following this one! !!
  17. I had 1/144 777 200/300 windows and doors decals custom printed by Cartograph many years ago... I never sold many of them, wouldn't know how to get them to you...
  18. So a small update, well the honeymoon is over and this kit is schooling me on the fact that we can't seem to get a good set of well fitting intake parts on a Su-27 kit, I haven't made Hobby Boss yet so there's still hope. The intakes are a real pain in the satchel charge... The instructions ( A huge problem with this kit) would have you believe that installing F2 to the fuselage is the best way, It isn't. I assembled it to the top of the intake and then put it on the fuselage bottom otherwise you would never align it up. F15 and F14 shouldn't be glued together prior to installing the intake roof, actually it would benefit you to install it to F16 then install the intake as an assembly over the roof, after you put the PE on (which is very this and bends way too easily) I swear I'm usually not this bad of a modeler. I decided to build mine with the duct FOD screen "open" so I could see the duct and fan face, probably a bad idea. Pics are out of order, sorry. the intake duct, needs serious sanding scraping to fit properly. I did fill and sand the holes BTW... you can build how you like, but I would NOT follow the instructions sequence.
  19. here is my reasonable representation of the cockpit, I'm not completely happy with but I think it will do for now, I'll keep the seat loose and install it later...
  20. I actually sanded down the seat to be more in line with the kit height. I will conduct fit tests as the seat is one of the last items to go in for me...
  21. Hello everyone. This is my first build article here in Britmodeller, starting on my Su-33... First up is my crude attempt at a cockpit, the colors are Testors RLM 78 and basic colors, I didn't realize how crappy the instruments looked while the Future is still wet. hopefully they will get better as it dries. I am replacing the K-36 seat with the long out of production KMC resin item as I didn't want to make belts like I did on my MiG-31. I added the red handles (park brake???) and the gear handle with wire. I still have to paint the seat and the back wall. Airscale instrument decals. hopefully it starts to look better. More to follow... ~A
  22. I just started 2 days ago, haven't even put any color on the instrument panel switches yet.. KMC resin seat, Airscale decals, don't worry it will look way better soon. .
  23. Can't wait for mine... maybe in a month according to Ebay. I'm currently working on my kinetic 1/48 Su-33
