  1. Sorry if this isn't the best place to ask this, mods please move/delete if necessary. I'm looking for some advice to find the best online stockists of paint for plastic kits. I'm just taking up modelling again since I was a wee lad(!) and so I have no supplies of anything. I noticed that the Humbrol website stock the 14ml tins of paint for £1.89 per tin. Does this represent good value? I don't want to pay over the odds for stuff but I appreciate that I'll need to spend an initial outlay (I've got an Airfix Sea Harrier FA2 plus an AMT/ERTL B-52G - both 1/72 - in my modest stash). Thanks Andy

    Greetings!

Hi everyone, Andy here! Thought I'd join one of the many forums out there to hopefully pick up some useful bits of info. Most of the builds on here are absolute quality and I'd be happy to produce something half as good. I'm just about to get back into the hobby that I started as a child although my memories were of trying to get them built as quickly as possible and paint them before the glue had chance to set! Aircraft models were my passion at the time, particularly WW2 era. I was recently given a 1/72 AMT/ERTL B-52G which has sparked me into life plus I have an Airfix 1/72 Sea Harrier FA2 in my modest stash! I have bought no equipment yet but I know I'll need to get glue, a variety of brushes, filler etc. Regarding paint, the Airfix box indicates the paint numbers I'd need to buy - which online sites are recommended to get them from? The B-52 instructions, being American built, has its own paint numbers so I'm wondering if there is anything out there that I can use to refer to that will ensure I buy the same colours over here. I'm aware that there are conversion charts on the web. Whilst this sub-forum is for newbies, what is the best sub-forum to post questions on in relation to novice-related things? I'm aware that there are Youtube videos out there that may be my first port of call. Thanks in advance.
