rear subframe, as the original. Front bonnet don't have hinge...

You are welcome Steve! I work myself on a Unimat 3 EMCO. Unfortunately out of production since some decades...
In Europa we can buy easily used ones. But for you in Australia, I dont know? Regarding new ones lathe I don't suggest China products, but may be perhaps easier for you?
New makes: Sherline (USA) is for me a must , secondly Proxxon (DE) good products too.
But they are not cheap! And the lathe without tools and accessories can't be useful... Feel free to any question!Clear parts? Before, many hours to "clean" the bonnet...

Tub, more...
And with the engine, dry fitted of course...
Some adds on the tub, front frame...
Now, rear frame.
With it, you can see the first moulded piece, the small "roof".
Unfortunately, no pic, and no mould pic ! It was a silicone one, in
one part, but I moulded piece by piece, as the rear bonnet here show :
Some sanding was needed!
Tub is now completed.

Of course a lathe will be essential!
1_ M2 threaded rod.
2_ M2 nut with shoulder.
3_White material (sprue etc) or painted.
4_M0.8mm threaded rod (glued in the hole 5).
5/6_ 0,9mm holes.
You can insert a M2 nut in the cylinder head...

To Poul, I spent approximatively 7 month on the "tub".
I can say that with the input dates of the pics. (Photo Mac OX)
I found some drawings too...
Now, the engine story.
Another gift by Mr Monogram, the engine block. A Ford V8 Stay as another Ford V8...
For the deuce, it was a flathead engine, mine:

But the GT40's engine is quite different...
As usual, the result:
We will come back on it, first the gerbox.
The real thing, a beauty...

Technical approach. Once drawn on the aluminum plate, settings on place, then soldering.
Notice the solder small pieces on the junctions, it's my method...
Front wheels hubs, complex pieces...
And a non conventional method!

It's a pleasure to I too to restart this building method, and honestly, sometimes I say myself wow... what a courage! I was more young...Well, it's called by GT 40 experts, the "tub". Here it is a 1/1 tub:

Of course without drawings, I have to draw my own! No way to work on the air...
And here, my big regret. The "tub" will be a metal/plastic mix...
