  1. Well, a new barn find car! After twenty years on a shelf it's time to do something with her. This Heller's kit is something very good but in the same time a nightmare... Why? The real car itself is complex, an engineer car, as this joke said: an engineer car for others engineers! Remember, we are in the 1930' . And the kit looks like that. Over 1000 pieces, three or four parts to do one piece, glued of course... Hopefully, the plastic is very hard, and moulding very fine. What am i going to do with this? It wil be a sort of restauration, but not only! Something like that: It will be a resurrection, only two "coupé" 15/6 were built in the Citroën factory, all disappeared! And not all specialist agree... I' don't care. It will be a 15/6 "coupé"! Some destruction is needed! It's important to note that Heller strictly respected components and structures of the real car! Bravo and thanks! First, I have to secure front and rear axles. All parts The beginning is... front bumpers, of course, it's the first piece. It will be a multi media materials! Dan.
  2. Thank you very much for your kind words gentlemen... Dan.
  3. Hi english people! I'm not sure to really understand, french people and english language, you know... I suppose it's a joke, bad one of course, with some slang and a lot of implied words, that would surely make me laugh too! We have in french somethings like that too, untranslatable of course. Thanks Jo and sorry my dear english fellows... Dan.
  4. Thank you very much gentlemen! I plan a little break, then maintenance of my workshop and repairing some trouble on the mill... Be sure I will come back! Dan.
  5. The leather on the seat is absolutely outstanding. And your paint job Too... Congrats! Dan.
  6. Always kind words... Thank you very much gentlemen! The real car is bare aluminum, mine too... But you are right, it works for me! One year, it's a record for me... Rapidity due may be to all documents I had. Less mistakes and re-done after, less researches, more efficiency! Sorry you have to wait! But I can give you a trail... It will be a french vehicle, as usual! Of course a rare one, not easy. Two or three still on the short list... Thanks again to all, Take care! Dan.
  7. Well, today is also a strange day... Why? This car is completed! In few days I will try to take some pics more... But I'm not a professional! To Ron, this pic explain the reason why sandblasting: To Harvey, I agree, good idea! I remember this movie... Now, I have to thank you for all! Kind words, always appreciated, and for that: This post will be #414. But I calculated the ratio before. 413 posts, 1348+++! Ratio= 3,26 ! It's may be a record... Now, the question is: What next? Be patient guys... Dan.
  8. Thanks Harvey, now you know... scratch building is every time a challenge even if some operation looks easy! Of course they don't! Strange car... All the "wings" are there! Really strange! Next sandblasting, not really an exiting job... Dan.
  9. As Pouln, I do love your dividing head! And your mini drill would be perfect in my workshop... About tires, I said one day another story, in fact it is... Sorry but the best way is moulding. I hate that, bad smelling products, expensive, and with a very short life time. Only happiness! Good luck mate! Dan.
  10. Thanks Ron! To SB, 0,4mm aluminum sheets are not very hard... Don't worry about my calipers! Well, wings more and rigging! Not easy to show... All is riveted (aluminum rivets). Parts and settings (a lot of!) Dan.
  11. Kind words are always appreciated, thanks! To Roy, you can see the tool here: And you can find it here, in different sizes: https://www.chronos.ltd.uk/product/glanze-6-mm-profiling-tool/ Well, fenders in french are called "ailes", wings in english. Here, I think is the right term... Mine: Who said wings? Now, only to Swartz-Brot, the man who loves my caliper, here two calipers! But bare. For bending large pieces... More fenders will come, may be? Dan.
  12. Harvey, you are on the good way! The most difficult job is done on spoke wheels, but tires are another story... Good luck! Dan.
  13. Thank you very much SB for your kind words... Well, today windscreen, more and of course not the end. It will be chromed (Alclad) before the installing on the body... After fenders! But now metal work is achieved: But now it's achieved: You saw the horn? Without a lathe, no way... Dan.
  14. Outstanding work Pascal! The engine itself , unfortunately hidden in part, is a pure piece of art. About the paint job, it's stellar level for me... Hats off sir! Dan.
  15. What is going on now? Windshield... The toggle of the poor man: Take care anyway! Dan.
  16. Thank you very much gentlemen, every time a pleasure... Roy, we are all waiting! Well, bonnets (Thanks Harvey) are now completed! You can see here holes for the fenders, on the top: And details... The other side, Take care! Dan.
  17. Well, bonnet more or hood more? Nobody here to tell me? Remember, I'm a poor french, yes a froggie... Some setting are still needed, but I am on the good way! And for the functional system lovers: In fact I had no choice... Dan.
  18. Hi Codger! Glad to see you come back on the bench! These cars are not my cup of tea, too "Goldorak" for me, but I'm sure you will done something fabulous... Dan.
  19. Thank you very much Pascal, but it appears you have some skills too... Well, today bonnets or hoods? (Please let me know...), more but not the end! I'm going to do removable sides, no-opening... You can see the brass renfort: Why?, remember, fenders are on the hood sides... Help! Now I have to introduce my English Wheels... The small one: And the big one... That's all folks! Take care, Dan.
  20. Hi guys! Doors, more and YEAH! the end... They made me crazy. Now, we can thinking about bonnet(s)... Who said bonnets? They are coming... Take care guys! Dan.
  21. Tires for mad scratch builders are always trouble. My choice for new model is firstly tires! Some make their own ones... I hate the smelling and dirty material to do that! Good luck Jo in imperial measures or metric! Dan.
  22. A true challenge this Talbot! But you are going to win, I'm sure... Congrats! Dan.
  23. Well, to the little jokers, next? I don't know! But I have maybe an idea... Jo, front and rear tires are not the same size. Front I can read 875x105, rear 875x135. Mine, on the Voisin, are rear ones. I don' really understand the 80%... May be this sketch will be useful: Note: Front ones looks like bicycle tire... I bought first, before find black ones, two sets of white (not very cheap), thinking to paint them... If you are interested (50% off) PM me... It seems Bloody Mary have not the same tire size front and rear. Correct? Dan.
