  1. What a beauty Harvey! The charm of bare metal is awesome... And one more a time, black wheels of course. Dan.
  2. Well, rumble seat is coming, the hole in fact... And around, a sort of bird cage: Now, the (important) question is: body, still removable? And the answer is YES! Important for the finitions, one day... Dan.
  3. In France, this seat was named mother in law's one... We love our kids, Harvey!
  4. Thank you guys! I'm now (a little) less ignorant...
  5. Thank you gentlemen. Support are welcome, really... The goal: But before, a trunk. Big one with a... What is this in english?: No Codger, it's not a new jig! The beginning, just the beginning of a nightmare, just... Settings and... Soldering, both sides! I said beginning! Dan.
  6. Thanks Harvey, she is taking shape effectively, slowly... Surely? Wait and see! It will be a multi media model: As the real car, we need rigidity. Reinforcements: Hidden parts of course... Dan.
  7. Not incredible Codger, just a jig but... reversible! Generally two symmetrical sides on a car, isn't? Well, honestly I don't realized the difficulty of this transformation. Settings are an horror, and the mix metal/plastic, not a gift! Two poor pics for hours and sweats (cold ones) But the "coupé" is coming... Wish me good luck! Dan.
  8. So, it's less serious, for me, great animals lover... Sorry Harvey, but a trouble on a model is for a mad scratch builder a habit isn't? Dan.
  9. Strange door, indeed! A new challenge... First step: How to? No secret! I think that this sort of joke will take a little time...
  10. "Coupé"? In french to cut is "couper". A program... After had strongly fixed the body on the platform, with nuts and bolts, I want to separate _ one day, not tomorrow..._ the body for sanding, a little bit, and painting, horror! After a moment of solitude, let's go! Some renforcement, others are hidden... I'm not sure, it's the good door? Of course not! But the good one is coming... You can see some rivets (1mm aluminum). Nothing is only glued! The other side of the moon, of the door, sorry! Another jig... A curious door? Yes, I know... And thank you my friends! Dan.
  11. For me, no no comparison possible! They must be black! Red wheels will look as a toy...
  12. Indeed Harvey! Some years ago, for an... aircraft I have done two spoke wheels. As usual 1/8 scale, for a SE 5a Hasegawa, fortunately, only two! A real challenge: Here, I don't know Olivier... A well known one : http://aventure-citroen-min.forumactif.com/t201-traction-15-six-cabriolet-sur-base-heller-1-8eme And of course, not by a modeler, but a convertible too! You can find others on the web...
  13. Thank you very much guys for your kind words... Codger, a little exaggeration may be? But it's funny! To Olivier, welcome on board, but I'm sorry, it will be a "coupé"! Why? Many modelers, as you, have been done a convertible with this (great )kit, never a "coupé"... And I do love this car! Well, today some work on rear wheels and brakes Dry fit of course but four wheels (not drive...): And now wiring for hand brake, plumbing for hydraulics... Dan.
  14. Thank you very much gentlemen... Today, it's time for a jig! No way without it to work correctly on brakes drums... For brakes plumbing too... And for the new wheels rims! I don't like the Citroën "Pilote" wheel rims. These rims are aluminum ones the product of a small french foundry . They are simple, I do love that! Of course, without a mill_and a dividing head_ it will be not very easy... You don't know the "Pilotes" steel rims? No problem, now you will know: But it's a lovely car! Dan.
  15. Great job Harvey, not easy, but at last what a pleasure! Don't it? Dan.
  16. Thanks kpnuts! Today, front suspension and steering system, yes it's really a system... Now you start to understand the Citroën ways! For 1930' suspensions are really modern: Now, the "system": Last settings will be done with wheels and tires on. You can find the same system on the 2CV, Citroën of course! In pieces: Before that, some brass pieces... And a lot of rod ends: Home made rod ends, how to? Some solder on an aluminum piece with threaded rod... Some cups too... Dan.
  17. Wow! You all love this crossbar... In fact for every piece the most difficult is to find the method, the good one of course, may be not really the first ! Here for this beauty (joke), the beginning is soldering two brass sheets, then piercing the four holes, like this you are sure that they will be in the right alignment... De-soldering and re-alignment with two aluminum axle for the biggest holes (solder don't fix them) and soldering with the spacers. Then some folding at the extremities and now you can show on the best forum a piece of art (another joke)... That all folks, thanks for watching and for your kind comments. Hope my "frenchy" english will be suffisant! Dan.
  18. Thank you very much gentlemen, always appreciated... Today, sorry but first I have to speak mechanics! For your understanding. I said before it was a very complex car, with many solutions ... complex! Front axle. As the rear one, no springs, only torsion bars with shock absorbers (hydraulics) of course. There, front axle diagram: Heller reproduced all the pieces! Plastic, of course... Brass is needed: With brass, it's better! Dan.
  19. Excellent paint job Renek! Sorry, but at that time poor quality paint and without varnish... Dan.
  20. Codger, you are talking about an advance paiement I suppose... Knups, you are welcome! Well, today hand brake. Easier with a bare body. A typical mix Mr Heller and myself: But after that, all is for me! I do love this kind of piece: Settings on the body... Then, let'sgo! Thanks to watching guys! Dan.
  21. A new challenge for a wizard with resin... Gorgeous! Dan.
  22. After front axle, rear one of course! The goal is to replace as possible all the plastic parts subjected to efforts by brass... Easy to say, but in fact the mix plastic/brass is not really easy! For the moment, rear wheels attachment. With brass pieces of course... Note the grey circle, it was glued! Then, engine mountings verso: Recto! The axle of the rear axle! Solidity first... Ungrateful but necessary work! Dan.
  23. Thank you gentlemen! To Codger, it's a 3mm rod threaded on the lathe, turned manually of course with a 2,2mm die. I'm sorry but I am in trouble with imperial mesures, remember I'm a poor french... You can see my homemade tool, very useful for that! We need solidity... Note the high quality of Heller's moulding. A french kits maker (yeah!)... This kit was launched in 1977! Dan.
  24. You are welcome guys! Thank you very much for your interest... The front sub-assembly comes to the body like this: (It's a four cylinders, but it's the same assembly for the 15/6, more solid.) At this time it was really a revolution! Not very simple, but is an engineer car, now you know that... We need solidity! Note that all parts glued in the kit, are bolted here: Now, I can trust in this assembly! Dan.
