I said another world for me... You are perfectly in your place in this world! Without your hand, I could not believe it's 1/43 scale. Congratulations! Dan.

Don't worry Poul! I do love machines and machinist... What a beauty and your workshop seems more clean than mine... But, another "but", I don't agree with a milling machine with? into? a lathe. The rule is for me one machine, one function. May be because I'm a very lazy man!

yet another Ferrari 1/8th F40 Engine
PROPELLER replied to nick's topic in Work In Progress - Vehicles
Modern Art! Right now, I don't know if you solved the belts problem... Some year ago I found that on an old printer, the transmission belt, 3mmx500mm: If it's OK, PM me... Dan.- 460 replies

Come back to the Jag... Today, dash board. As usual, not easy to shoot: The start with that, some improvements are needed... Switches, every time tedious! And on the middle: Dan.

Not gearboxes but metal working machines yes! https://www.emco-world.com/en/

Poul take a look at: https://nl.niqua-shop.de/collections/01-juweliersageblatter It's my supplier... Dan.

I found mine on Ebay Nick... Good luck! Dan.

Very convincing, but the Cutty Sark in the background interferes with good readability... It's a pity! Good job any way. Dan.

Thanks guys! To Poul, the "modification" is an adjustable stop. The stock Unimat motor is THE big problem on this wonderful little lathe. Fast overheating, poor torque and so one! Take a look here, with a most reliable adjustable stop and all my toys...(Except dividing head ) In french, but pics are a better way than explanation: https://www.usinages.com/threads/mon-petit-unimat-emco-3.114415/ Dan.

Thank you very much gentlemen! Rob, I enjoyed immediately this color when I found it... To Roy, it's not dots... It's a sort of rivets, 0,5mm brass rod each side sanded... No pics for this operation! You can see (not really easily) these "rivets" here the other side: I found another pics... On the lathe: Dan.

Already you have seen my steering wheel. But not the Monogram one, and the steering column: Of course mine is quite different... How to? Two thin mahogany sheets glued on a thin brass piece, a lathe, a dividing head, a jeweler's saw, some files and some hours... No secret! Thanks for watching, Dan.

Thanks Mr C! French people with english language you know... Clamps, it's noted. D.

Thanks Nick! However, to my taste the first design of this car was better, more pure, than the last one. But this color fits perfectly... Exhaust line more and the end! The rear small mufflers looks like motorbike ones... Let's go! Flanges (?) was also needed: Thanks Mr Alclaad... Dan.

Don't worry Nick! If i understand correctly, it's an English link for English people... Some French people could say to another French: "English people, you know..." Sorry Nick, I could not resist! Thanks JCH for the link. What a really clever system! But for our scales... I know these "snake's nest": I suppose you recognise a GT40, in 1/8 scale... Dan.

Thanks guys! Nick, I can't open the video... Of course! I wanted the smooth sound of the six! I agree. It's a typical empirical method and some hours needed... Thanks Poul, it's not perfect, but it's mine! Don't try to get one at any supplier, but with $100.000, it will be yours... Dan.

Well, exhausts, more... Note the Monogram's parts are poor, but in the good shape: Action! Mufflers... Where is the Monogram's one? A wooden piece is needed to reach the good shape. Two mufflers, please... In situ: More soon... Dan.

Thanks Harvey and Nick! It's not a technique of mine, it's a well known one by plumbers... The sand (as fine as possible) will be packed heavily, both of pipe ends obturated, soldered in fact as you can see on the pic near the sand... Of course brass pipes must be annealed. Feel free to ask anything about that... Dan.
-
Thanks Mr C... First, I omit to show you a small modification, but very important! Now, what is going on under the body? Exhausts! As usual, completed: How to? Not a really easy operation... First we have to create a CNC tool: Bad joke... It's an cheap vice as a bending tool! Pipes have to be filled with sand. Fine sand, very fine. I found it in Sahara, during a journey some years ago... It's called "fesh-fesh" , a trap in fact! More soon... Dan.

Student or teacher? Teacher for me... Awesome paint job Nick, congrats! Dan. -
Thanks Thierry and the others! About doors and windows... Of course, they will be revisited. Some brass may be? Settings... Not so bad! Rear windows, same punishment! Soldering was not there really an easy job... In situ: I wanted rear windows a bit opened... With the sunroof opened, by experience, its more comfortable! A big step... And still a long way... Thanks for looking! Dan.

Thanks Nick, even if I can't really understand! You are welcome Mr C... If I remember correctly, I short cut the inside piece (arrow) and I bended an glued the outside panel on. 16 years ago! Dan.

Thanks Sabrejet! But this kit was not so bad... As you can see, a good basis. About Monogram's kit an others. Of course, for an OOB job, I think all kits are clunky!...For mad people as us. We have to expect this kind of surprise: But after sweet and tenacity... What a pleasure! I hear the question... Openable: NO! Dan.
