  1. A few pics from me taken from the Welsh hills (Mach Loop). Nothing I like better than freezing my nuts off in Snowdonia waiting on the off chance of a pass or two. 1. Hawk T2 with a wave from the rear seat. 2. ZH888 Herc making a nice low pass. 3. The Yanks showing how it's done in the F-15E. Can't beat a bit of fluff! 4. Little Qineteq Alpha jet with the lowest pass I've ever seen. Bored yet?....... 5. The Fast & Furious RAF Tonka fully swept :-o 6. ......and another, may be the same aircraft (?) 7. F-15 giving it the beans (same aircraft as above) with a good view of the 'office' 8. Another of the Valley boys in B&W 9. Finally another low Herc (same aircraft as above).
  2. Thanks everyone, appreciate your comments. Looking at the other builds on here, I am in awe, I guess you never build the perfect one though as there's always something new to learn with this hobby. The most important thing is my son William has now got the bug, in fact he's done 10 kits in the time it took me to do this! Guess I should have given some explanation of my techniques. In short.....post shaded the main camo, added chipping with very fine brush, weathered with chalky pastels. Didn't do a panel line wash with the Airfix panel lines being so pronounced. Going to give a well weathered Zero a try next.....maybe that will get the weathered look out of my system :-) Out of interest what is people view on the hardness of the line between the camo colours? Too hard or right for scale?
  3. Looks great. Got one of these in my stash to build. Must admit when I built my RAF version I was massively impressed with the fit. Airfix have come a long way from when I was a kid.
  4. That's a result. It's actually got a charming 'quality' to it. They don't make 'em like that any more!
  5. Pretty aircraft and a beautiful finish to boot.
  6. On my 'to build' list, but not sure I could do it the justice that you have. Lovely build.
  7. First kit I've built in years and the first ever kit I've airbrushed. I know it's far too weathered for this aircraft which I believe never saw active service as it was built in 1945. I picked up this starter kit for around £4 as the paints were missing. It's not perfect but I'm happy with it and more importantly enjoyed building it. I've bought a load of cheap 1/72 Airfix kits to practice with. Criticism welcomed as I've a lot to learn.
