  5. More the former, though I have no idea about an answer to the latter question. It's really Geoff's decision about whether to amend the title, and he's made no comments to me about it. I assume that the Fleet Air Arm is to the Royal Navy as Fighter Command was to the RAF (in WWII)? Kev
  6. Last night I issued a sneaky v2.1 update, because stupid. Kev
  7. A recent post here on Britmodeller by modeller and customer John Bryon identified potential errors in our book Building the British Phantoms Volume One by Geoff Coughlin. We quickly determined that these errors were real, and needed to be corrected. These errors related to statements about the In-Flight Refuelling (IFR) not being fitted to most FG.1 Phantom, which is in fact not the case. I’d like to thank John for raising this issue, and also John Laidlaw for bringing them to my attention. The relevant sections of the book have now been updated, and along with an amended cover and the usual typographical polishing, we now give you v2.0! Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. Both Geoff and I apologise unreservedly for these errors, and thank all those involved in helping us correct them. Kev
  8. Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce that the book has now been updated to v2.0, addressing the criticisms raised in this thread, as well as introducing an amended cover, and a few other minor changes. Sorry @Andrew, but at this stage the title remains unchanged! Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. I'd like to thank everyone for their contributions to this thread, and for providing the opportunity for us to correct the errors and generally improve the book. Both Geoff and I apologise unreservedly for those errors, and appreciate them being brought to our attention. Kev
  9. Thanks for the kind words, John! It's been our policy from day one, as part of our digital publishing model, that all purchasers are entitled to lifetime free updates to any books they've purchased. Sometimes an update might consist simply of a corrected typo; at other times - such as this one - the update will include revised or additional information. We've been planning a v2.0 update to Building The British Phantoms Volume One for some time now, so the corrections discussed in this thread will be included, and the updated version will be issued in the next few days. Just one small correction to John's information above: due to the size of the books, it's not possible to send the updates out to customers directly. Instead, if you need the updated version of a book you've published, simply re-download it from the website using your original download links, or alternatively, from the Downloads section of your account. If you don't have (or can't find) either, please contact me and we'll sort it out. Kevin
  10. Thanks to John Laidlaw for alerting me to this thread. I've sent the link to Geoff, who will hopefully be able to respond in person. If the book is indeed in error, then we will make the appropriate corrections and release an update. Otherwise, it should make for an interesting discussion! Cheers, Kevin
  11. I’m pleased to announce that Building the Kitty Hawk HH-60G Pave Hawk in 1/35 Scale has now been updated to v1.4! Just the usual polishing of typography and layout, so not a critical update. Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. See you all for the next one! Kev

  14. I’m pleased to announce that our next title will be Building NATO’s LanceR in 1/48 Scale: Eduard’s 1/48 MiG-21MF in Romanian Service, by Chuck Wojtkiewicz. This will be the 4th instalment in our Build Special Series, and will not only feature Chuck’s terrific build of the Eduard MiG-21, but also the wonderful artwork that has helped make his builds such a joy to follow. The build will be accompanied by the lovely Kapitan Andrea. Do I have your attention yet? Work will begin on the book shortly, and we’re hoping for a release early next month. Stay tuned! Kev
  15. Thanks for the comments, fellas. These Bandai Star Wars kits are so much fun, it's tempting to just build those for the rest of your life! Kev
  16. Number 8 in our Build Guide Series, Building the Special Hobby Tempest Mk V in 1/32 Scale by Chuck Sawyer is about to have its second birthday, so we’ve given it some minor tweaks to produce v1.4, and discounted it to a mere 12 Australian dollars for the next 7 days! Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. If you need to confirm the version number of your newly downloaded update, just check the bottom of the Copyright page (iii), shown in the example below (from our Ta 152 book): This is valid for all of our titles, should you ever need to verify which version of any particular book you might have. 17. I’m pleased to announce that No. 5 in our Build Guide Series, Building the Fly Arado Ar 234 in 1/32 Scale by Kent Karlsen, has now been updated to v2.0! As with our other recent book updates, this title has received a major makeover, with extensive layout changes that have yielded 8 extra pages. This expanded layout doesn’t contain any new content, but rather, improves the readability of a few sections that I felt were a little crowded. Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. Stay tuned for more news and information—we will be announcing our next title very shortly! Kev
  18. Today the Update Express has pulled into a new station, and disembarking onto the platform is none other than v2.0 of Building the Revell P-51D-5NA Mustang in 1/32 Scale! As well as the usual raft of typographical and layout improvements, this update has spawned three additional pages, as certain pages that were too cramped were spread out over more than one page. Kev

  20. I’m pleased to announce that Building the Revell Me 262B-1/U1 Nachtjäger in 1/32 Scale has now been updated to v1.2! As with most of our book updates, this one consists of some typographical and layout tweaks, and is not considered vital. In this 246-page eBook, John Kim builds the Revell 1/32 Me 262B-1/U1 kit to his usual excellent standard, offering plenty of hints and tips for construction and painting along the way. Along with John’s terrific build, we’ve also included some fabulous artwork by James Bentley, accompanied by some historical notes by Mark Proulx, and our usual appendices covering aftermarket and reference options. Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. Kev
  21. Much thanks and appreciation to eagle-eyed customers Thomas Brugger and Matt Low, who alerted me to a number of typos in our latest title, Building the Hasegawa Fw 190D-9 in 1/32 Scale. These have now been corrected, and v1.1 is now available! Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. Kev
  22. No sooner had my head hit the pillow after publishing yesterday’s v2.0 update to Building Race #80 Spitfire Mk XIVe in 1/18 Scale, I began to fret that I might have missed something. And after a sleepless night of worry and stress, it turns out I was right. So, now we have v2.1! For details about the update, I’ll simply refer you to yesterday’s post regarding v2.0: https://www.klp.com.au/2023/02/16/v2-0-of-building-race-80-spitfire-mk-xive-in-1-18-scale-now-available/ Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. See you all for the next one! Kev
  23. Another day, another book update! This time it’s Peter Castle’s masterpiece, Building Race #80 Spitfire Mk XIVe in 1/18 Scale getting a full v2.0 refresh. I’ve tweaked almost every one of its (now) 573 pages, and am ready for a nap. The changes are mostly typography and layout improvements, so there’s no additional content, but I’d recommend all existing purchasers update their copy all the same. Existing purchasers are able to access the updated version for free. Simply log in to your account (or use your original download link) and re-download the book from the Downloads section of your profile. If you don’t have an account or the original download link, please contact me and we’ll sort it out. And of course, new purchasers will always receive the latest version. Kev
  24. Thanks, Jason. John's model is fantastic, and I really enjoyed putting this book together. His photos are also great, and he has a knack for clearly explaining his approach. Kev
