  1. Okay I'll have a look, just a pity they don't do the model air in orange red!
  2. Hi guys, I have the 1/48 Ta 152 and would really like to paint it in the orange red colour, however I can only get the orange red in Model Color rather than Model Air. No matter how much I try to thin it it will not come out of my airbrush, only a few specks will come out, I'm using the Vallejo thinner so what am I doing wrong? Is there any other paint brands that do orange red? Thanks
  3. I have the Hasegawa FW190 JV44 kit and am wondering what the stripe size should be on the bottom of the plane. The kit is 1/32 by the way Thanks!
  4. Anyone know who else does orange red other than Vallejo? Trying to thin their model color but I can't get it to work properly, it's not my airbrush as model air and thinned Tamiya paint come out fine
  5. Hi thanks for that was what I was looking for, do you what scale I should have it at for a 1/48 scale?
  6. Hi guys, I know you can buy a mask for it but was wondering if there were any sites that have a Typhoon camouflage template I can print out and stick on my model? I've seen Spitfire ones but no other planes
  7. Hi guys, Painted the canopy by hand on my Trumpeter Me-262 and kinda messed it up. What's the best way to get the paint off the canopy? Thanks Jack
  8. Hey, Bought the Tamiya 1/48 FW190D-9 JV44 with the red and white bottom. I've painted the bottom white and am now masking the stripe bits however I don't know what size masking tape I'm supposed to use, it doesn't say in the instructions and on various sites they all seem to be a different size depending on who built them. On eBay the sizes I've wrote down are 2mm, 3mm, 5mm, would any of these the correct size?
  9. Nah not assembled yet and okay I'll try that
  10. Hi guys, New to modelling etc, I have a Tamiya FW-190D-9 JV44 and am not sure on the best way to paint the propeller nose, I've painted it black as per instructions but the end of the nose is yellow and am not sure how to mask it properly or if there's an easier way to do it. Sorry if it's a really simple thing to do but I'm not entirely sure on it! http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/61081focke_jv44/focke.htm As you can see the propeller nose is yellow at the end
  11. Hi, Have the Eduard JV44 FW-190D-9/11 and have built both and will paint them soon. Is it easier to paint/airbrush the underside first or the top of the plane?
  12. Hello, I have these stands https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/aircraft-display-stand-assortment-1-72.html I plan on putting my 1/48 Spitfire and FW190 on stands but am not sure about the best way to make a neat cut? On the Matchbox kits they used to have a square on the fuselage that you could just cut open for the stand but for some reason modern kits don't seem to have the option anymore!
  13. Do you guys always put a pilot (If one comes with your kit) in the cockpit not? I have a Tamiya 1/48 ME-262 coming tomorrow and it has a pilot and I have photoetch for it too so the pilot shouldn't cover any of it up really should it? Other than the seatbelts that is. Also is there anyway you can make the canopy open and close? Most of mine are open but would like the option of being able to open and close them or is this not possible? Thanks Jack
  14. Anyone know who does or where I can get flat white spray paint from? I don't have a airbrush currently so I need spray paint! Anything basically equivalent to XF-2 flat white Hope someone can help Jack
  15. Nah first time I'll use it, it's been in my garage for years
  16. Yeah a Syphon airbrush with a jar
  17. Needle is correctly fitted etc just tried with water and nothing just air still, and yeah I used thinner with the Tamiya paints.
  18. Hello, It's a Badger airbrush and I'll try it with water and let you know.
  19. Hello, Recently got a Takom Maus Tank and am going to be doing a camo pattern on it so I'll be using a airbrush, I got one that came with a air can and for some reason the paint won't come out, on its own I can feel the air come out of the brush but with paint nothing happens? I was using Tamiya Xf paint (Red Brown and Dark Green) and thinner but am wondering if the paint is still too thick for it? I'm planning on trying Vallejo with it to see. Anyone know what the issue might be?
  20. Hello, Built a Tamiya FW-190 JV44 and am now painting it, I've spray the top and on the bottom I need white and red paint for it. I've used flat white spray paint for the stripes on the bottom and it looks good, however I don't think I have the right red, it says in the instructions to use XF-7 Flat Red however I am not good at handbrushing and prefer to spray paint instead. I don't have a airbrush either. Can you get a flat red spray paint? Be it Tamiya or another brand, I have TS-49 bright red but it's too glossy.
  21. Hi guys, Recently built a 1/32 ME-262 B1/U1 and it looks good so far other than the canopy which I've completely messed up, I tried masking it but the paint still got through and I got fingers marks on the window parts of the canopy. Is there anyway I can remove everything and start from scratch? I tried nail varnish remover but that didn't help much. Hope someone can help! Jack
  22. Hi guys, Getting the Tamiya BF-109 tomorrow and am going to paint the first scheme which has yellow on it, it says I need Flat Yellow for it (XF-3). Does anyone know if Tamiya do a spray paint version of this. They do just "Yellow" in a spray can so is this the same as the XF Yellow? Any other brands that have Flat Yellow in their paint range? Thanks Jack
  23. Hi, I bought the Eduard FW190D JV44 Dual Combo kit and have built and painted the one plane, however the red on the bottom doesn't seem right. It says use RLM 23 and I used Tamiya Bright Red in hope it would look good however it's very glossy and I was wondering if there were any matt red. What is the Tamiya etc equivalent to RLM 23 as I cannot find any info on the web about it Hope someone can help Thanks
  24. Hi, Building a 1/72 Revell Lancaster (MK3) at the moment and I just need to paint the top side and the wings now, I painted them dark earth entirely and am just waiting to put the green on however, I want to try and get it as accurate as possible so I was wondering if there were any templates for this model. I scanned the paint diagram as an A4 jpeg picture but I can't get it the right size, I plan to cut out a template and stick on model. Anyone know what size I need to set it as? The planes dimensions are Length - 295mm Wingspan - 428mm Thanks Jack
