Fallschirmjäger Italy, 1/35 Alpine miniatures
Venelin replied to Venelin's topic in Figure Work In Progress
It's almost ready, I have to make the MP-40 sling and glue it. The weapon is painted with Gunze Mr.Metal color Dark iron and polished for metal sheen. Cheers! -

Hi, Sairou! I've seen pictures clearly showing metal buckles, so it will be historically accurate to paint it that way The pants and the boots are ready, for the pants I used Desert yellow-same as the helmet: -

Thanks, Rob! Proceeding with the splinter strips or raindrops, they are very small, but they should be-like on the real camo. Also I painted the equipment. Regards! -

Continuing with the camo, I used German camo beige for the base and brown and green blotches from Panzer Aces. Cheers! -

I'm starting this figure, for the helmet I used Luftwaffe blue and with hairspray chipped the Desert yellow. Cheers! -
Probably , I'm not sure about the Trumpeter decals though, never had experience with such, but we'll see Regards!

I'm pretty sure, for 3.50, it's pirate copy, recast of original Alpine Miniatures figure 😉 Nice build so far, Cheers!

I never had problems with clogging and spider webbing with the 1500, just thin it a bit more-the old rule for milk consistency. It's very forgiving and you don't have to remember precise ratios. Regards
-
Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 is best for me (I have all three-black, grey and white), thinned with Leveling thinner. I've tried Alclad, Tamiya, Vallejo, Ak..., but nothing beats the Surfacer 1500 IMHO. Very easy to use and clean, silk smooth surface and you can sand and polish it very easily. Sticks very good to photoetch, resin also.

Spitfire Mk.Vb "Buckeye-Don" (1/48 Tamiya)
Venelin replied to Venelin's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you very much, guys! The only modification I did is on the spinner-I've made those fairings by cutting pieces of plastic tube, also made the small cap on the spinner's point I didn't found any aftermarket spinner of that type, which is strange. -

Spitfire Mk.Vb "Buckeye-Don" (1/48 Tamiya)
Venelin posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I'm presenting this recently finished Spitfire, the old but still good Tamiya Mk.Vb. The bird was piloted by Dominic "Don" Gentile, an ace with 26 victories. I added Eduard PE for the cockpit and resin door, Quickboost exhausts, RB model Hispano 20mm cannons, decals from Aeromaster. Also reworked the spinner, because it had the characteristic fairings. Painting with Tamiya and Gunze acrylics, weathering with oils and AK effects. Thanks!- 16 replies

Camo is almost ready

Starting with the face as usual, this time I added Flat earth to the base color, for slightly swarthy skin.

Hello!I'm starting new figure project, this time Navy SEAL from Vietnam era, sculpted by Vladi from Bravo-6. Excellent quality as always. I opted initially for the Tiger stripes camouflage, but the uniform cut is different, so will stay with standard ERDL. I have also small vignette in mind, with water and vegetation

I've made a video for the painting of the second infantryman, watch here: Painting WSS Infantryman #2 Regards!
-
Many thanks! I will finish the diorama soon and will post it in the diorama section
-
Thank you! I better positioned the body of the second soldier, now he is standing more naturally.
-
Thanks, I didn't know, that saves me much trouble Regards,
-
A very nice pair of WSS infantry soldiers from Alpine miniatures, which I will include in a Normandy diorama. Only have to put the helmet insignia on the second figure. Cheers!

Difference between Mr Mark Setter and Mr Mark Setter Neo?
Venelin replied to Ronan71's topic in Other Tools
I'm also curious also about the difference. I recently bought Mark Softer Neo, because my Micro Set/Sol is almost empty, and it didn't seem to work. Seems they changed the formula. Anyone have experience comparing the old and new bottles?
