Sorry, forgot to say brilliant Hurricane, great build !!

1/72 for me, I find any mistakes in the larger scales are magnified and more difficult to put right. That said I'm not totally adverse to building in the bigger scales.

Thank you, I don't normally 'weather' my models so anything other than exhaust and cannon staining looks over the top to me. It looks better in the pictures but I am warming to it.

De-ionised water, a couple of drops of washing up liquid and powdered soft pastelle. I've used this combination in the past successfully but on this occasion I left it a few hours before wiping off, I think that was the mistake. Thank you.

I found the join in the fuselage was ok but had some problems lining up the join in the engine naceles.

I really don't like building aircraft that are white or have a metal finish, I always envisaged this one being Drab Olive over Light Grey with Invasion Stripes. But against my better judgement I decided to go with the metal finish as per the instructions. After doing a half decent paint job and Decals applied I thought it looked a little 'uninteresting' so I decided to do a wash to bring out the panel lines and that's when things went wrong. I think I left the wash on to long, because when I tried to wipe it off it wouldn't move. Long story short by the time I had removed most of it the paint job was ruined. At that point it was destined for the bin of despair but I decided I would experiment with pastels, this is the end result. Not my best work and I'm the first to admit I might have overdone it, but I'm happy to share my failures as well as my successes. As always all criticisms and comments are welcome. Hello Everyone, this is my next offering for your perusal. Originally I wanted to build it in U.S Air Force, Vietnam Era Camouflage but was quite take with this colour scheme. Built out of the box with just the addition of a couple of crew members and painted with a mixture of Tamiya and Revell acrylics. It went together well with very little filler and virtually no problems. I build most of my models in flight and the biggest problem I normally encounter is making the undercarriage doors fit but these dropped in with no gaps at all. A very enjoyable build. Thank you, when I model in my preferred scale of 1/72 I have pre shade with varying degrees of success, to be honest I'm most cases the pre shading has disappeared by the time I have finished painting the model 😂. The position for the missiles you suggest were offered as an alternative in the instructions.

Thank you. I inserted a piece of brass tube into the drop tank into which the 2mm brass rod was inserted. I don't normally use the tube but because of the lateral forces I thought it my be a good precaution. , I then used Superglue to attach the drop tank. Thank you. Thank you

Hello All, my second submission for this year, The Fighting Falcon. I have to say I don't enjoy modelling in this scale, I find that any mistakes or blemishes are magnetified. If you lose any detail due to sanding it becomes obvious unless you are good at rescribing which I am not very proficient at. Also because of the size of the model I feel weathering becomes a necessity, and I have wrecked so many good paint jobs with poor weathering that I now keep it to a minimum. Anyway here she is, built out of the box except for the addition of a pilot and painted wit a mixture of Tamiya and Revell acrylics. as usual all comments and criticisms are welcome. Well done, as an airbrusher myself I know all too well the frustrations of blocked nozzles and overspray, so for a first attempt you have done really well! As your skills develop your models will become tidier and you will seek out paint matches closer to the real thing, but don't get bogged down in exact matches, that's a rabbit hole you don't want to go down. So long as you are happy with the model it doesn't matter, the chances are that anybody viewing your model wouldn't know the difference anyway.

I have come to the conclusion that the white tape works better than the yellow. But the Eduard masks are far superior to anything else and make life so much easier.

Thank you, no, I used white Tamiya tape on the turret frames and yellow Tamiya tape on the cockpit frames. In all honesty they look better on the pictures than they do in real life.I have always struggled with the cockpit framing, I have just ordered something called 'Kapton' polyamide tape that I saw discussed in one of the forums on here, I'll keep you posted. Hello Everybody, my modelling tis year has got off to a slow start due to the cold weather (my workbench is situated in my garage) so this is my first contribution this year. Built entirely out of the box and painted with Tamiya acrylics, this is my first all black aircraft and initially I did attempt playing around with some paint effects, but as is the the norm they were lost in the final coats. Anyway here she is, thanks for looking and as usual all comments and criticisms are welcome.

Unfortunately I'm not an expert on aircraft, I build models I like the the look of and depend on the instructions. The instructions indicated those decals should be placed there. I have since Googled images of the Dauntless and you are right there doesn't seem to be guns in the wings. Another lesson learnt!!

Love that colour scheme, I've built Revells 'Memphis Belle' but I think I can see an Airfix version being built in the future.
