I have an actual 8x12 in flight picture that was given to me by 120 Sqn. showing XV240 in broad sunlight with the green tail. I will try to scan it. EDIT: Here is the photo of XV240. This was taken by 120 Sqn in 1993 according to the Crown stamp on the back. Note the olive color of the dark green. I also saw green-tailed sister ship XV260 in person and all of my personal reference photos show the same olive-like dark green.

The 120 Squadron "CXX" tails were most definitely green. For those wanting to use the excellent MA decals for the Nimrod, both XV240 and XV260 are represented in this scheme. My only critique is that the green shown on the instruction sheet looks more like a "Kelly Green" than the more olive-hued green on the real aircraft. Speaking of which, does anyone know a good match for this green out of the bottle? As for the Andy Evans book, what does it give you outside of the excellent Nimrod reference by Chartres? Obviously, updated pics, but is that it? -Mike

I have seen, on a limited scope, Scott's approach to providing decals to the public and let's just say that we, the consumers, are very well served by his almost insane attention to detail. Where most manufacturers would stop at "close enough" as far as accuracy and details, he goes above and beyond. Scott and Geoff don't just push a generic product, they invest themselves in the research and execution to a degree which is rare in the current market. -Mike

Speaking of the 707, does anyone have plans to make decals out of your Saudi Royal Flight (new scheme) 707 artwork that you did many years ago?

If we pre-ordered from overseas does this mean we have to wait for the re-print?

They are indeed.

I'm not expecting Tamiya quality, an excellent starting point for is all I hope for. From what I have seen, it looks like we get that and then some. I can tweak details and get the kit where I want it and I will no longer have the AIM kit mocking me from the stash. This aircraft has been neglected for so long and we are absolutely lucky that a company saw fit to do it such justice. Looking forward to getting my two. -Mike

Ooooooh! XV260 on sheet three (the CXX bird) is my absolute favorite! Where is the best place to get these sheets if you are a Yank? WHEN can I get sheet 3? -Mike

Did anyone catch the JUL07 MAM Nimrod build? I would never have believed the finished product was the AIM kit if I hadn't seen the progress pics. Amazing build. Just makes me all the more anxious for the Airfix kit. Speaking of which, any -new- news? -Mike
