  1. This is my build. I have started it later last year, but had health problems caused by to much glue etc, so I had a break. It is a bit further along than I had remembered. Thanks to Admin for allowing these part builds in this GB.
  2. Very nice Alistair. I've been missing in action lately because of my big move. I'm finally almost done. My problem is I don't have the internet on yet. The last tenant appears to have taken the fiber connection box. I expect it won't be till after Christmas before I get it on. The move went well and all my built models are safe. Only a bomb fell off the He 111 and an aerial and a propeller off a Bf 109. Five minutes work to fix.
  3. I like it. Something different. I've never seen one of those before. Greg law
  4. That is coming along nicely. You must be very pleased with. What scheme are you doing? Greg Law
  5. That is really well done. I wish they made a 1/48 scale version. Greg Law
  6. Amazing work General. That is real old fashion modelling you are doing. However, you have convinced me to put the kit away for now. I will just follow your build and look at another project I found in the deep recesses of my stash. This is another tricky kit, but less of a problem. Just rather big and German...
  7. Looks like you were paying attention in the wood work class. You have done a very nice job of the cockpit.
  8. I don't blame you for not using the box art. It is a bit over the top. Sort of distracts the eye from the beautiful form of the Mk IX. The pilot of that plane must have been feeling lonely...
  9. That must have been disappointing for you. To be honest I probably would have taken it to the furthest deep dark corner of the farm and bug a deep hole, so it couldn't get out again to haunt me, if it wasn't for the good people here encouraging me to keep at it. I've given up trying to do a good job of it, but I do want to get it finished. The decals arrived yesterday, which are rather nice. I have decided to use the wells off the Old Airfix Blenheim. These are a bit bigger than the kit ones which look far too small. Greg Law
  10. I managed to get one on eBay this week from a shop in Australia. They said they were getting some in on the 15th. Mine arrived early. So they still can be found. Greg Law
  11. I saw on the news the loss of the Ju 52 that was in several movies including the Battle of Britain. Very sad to see such an important plane be lost.
  12. Very nice. Is this the new kit that Airfix is putting out? I thought it wasn't available yet. Greg Law
  13. If I remember right. The green is a bit darker than it should be. Still I was happy with it. The US one looks good too.
  14. Good build. It would be nice to see a close up of the cockpit. I'm going to sound like a stuck record here. I have a 1/48 one of these in my part built collection. I will finish it very soon. In a Finland scheme.
  15. If you look at the Ju 87's elevator you will notice the fit to the fuselage isn't that good. This is a result of my tremor making the plane jump out of my hand and the elevator broke off. I couldn't get it to fit well again. So it was just a case of getting the model done. It had taken about four years with this one. Greg Law
  16. I understand the feeling when you on the final phase of a model and something like that goes wrong. I'm sure you will sort it. Now days I simply put it aside and then go back to it when I've got past the disappointment. Good luck with it. I still think it is a very good model from the photos. Greg Law
  17. Good build in 1/72. I'm pleased it doesn't have the standard decals.
  18. Good to see a Tiger moth being built. If only Airfix would make a 1/48 scale one. Greg Law
  19. Sad you are not happy with it. Did the wash loose contrast between the greens on the top scheme or is that just the photo? Other than that it looks a really nice build to me. Greg Law
  20. Yes I think you are right. With the big clear canopy it will show the cockpit nicely. Shame to hide it all. Can I suggest you leave one of the Ju88's crew out. Tphe one on the back right when looking forward . Just say he is in the gondola. He is hiding too much of the cockpit. Just a thought. Greg Law
  21. I'm have decided to double up on thread because I don't want to start too many threads. So I will be adding my Frog Blenheim build to it. These are being built at the same time as a result it will be more of a current build thread. I will post the Blenheim progress images today. The Blenheim is a Russian Frog kit that a friend gave me years ago. It was totally covered with flash. I literally had to dig the engines out of it. I am modifying the kit a bit with a new Eduard cockpit and rescribing the whole model. I'M up to scribing the fuselage. This is my first time I have done scribing. The wings started bad, but by the time I did the last side I had worked out how to do it.The wings are not the best fit, so I need to adjust them. The canopy fits quite well. I will have to be careful putting it on. Greg Law
  22. This is what I think on crew placement for the He111 H-3. There was two in the cockpit. Pilot and bombardier. There was one in the gondola who was a Gunner and also the radio operator. There was a Gunner in the top portion. The last one was in the area below the top Gunner. He used the side guns. Not sure who did the navigation. I think it was the bombardier. I'm sure others can help with this as well.
  23. Lovely model. That is a 37 squadron plane. Just to add a bit of reality to it. I have been reading my friends diary the last few days in preparation for the kits arrival. He mentions having a few flights in the Wellington 'O' when he first arrived in the desert. It could be that plane.
  24. Good start. This is one of my to do kits in the near future. So I will be hanging around here. Keep us informed of any issues with the kit. I really like ICM kits. It was a pity they didn't get the Ju 88,s cockpit right. That is the only issue I have with them is they don't fix their mistakes in the next version on the kit. The Ju88 is a perfect example of that.

I'm am posting a new introduction because I seem to have two form names. It has acured because I use both a tablet and my main computers to post. My tablet creates the name Sea, while my computers use the name Greg Law. I have been coming to this forum on and off for years. As a result, along the way I must have registered twice. Sorry I don't know how to fix this. I have been modeling on and off most of my 64 years. My first model was a Ju 87 which I bought using a 10 shilling note I found on the tab steps. I was 12 at the time. I still remember the joy of getting this model. I built several models during those early years. Then came the girls of cause. I didn't do any modeling again till I was 31. This started when my wife was have our first daughter. I found a Revell Condor kit when we were looking for baby toys. The Condor has always been my favorite plane. This started five years of modeling mainly 1/72 kits. I did all the BOB planes and some later German ones. I moved on to radio control Hobby's after that. In 1989 we moved to Australia and house building took over my time, although I still did a bit of RC modeling. Then in 1998 the family life came to an end and I found myself on my own again. My hobby became making planes for CFS3 which I did for something like ten years. My flatmate showed me a 1/72 Storch he had made for his father. It really needed some love. So I said I would fix it for him using parts from the same kit I had. After totally taking it apart and stripping the paint I had rebuilt it into a good model. He was very pleased with it. I didn't do anymore modeling for a few years until I visited a family friend in New Zealand. His father flew in the Wellingtons during the war and his grandson had made him a 1/72 Wellington when he was ten. Since then old Reg had died and the model was always part of their Anzac day. This model was built by a 10 year old and wasn't painted as well as being covered with glue. I said I would take it back to Australia and turn it into a really good model. This I did. Now it looks the part when it comes out on Anzac day. Since then I have continued to collect kits and build 1/48 scale. These have taken years to complete due to work and family commitments. I moved back to NZ three years ago and have been increasing my build rate as time allows. I'm learning to do all the new weather processors which is taking me some time. I have to battle a tremor which I have had all my life, but is worse now I'm older. At times the model will jump out of my hand. It is really annoying, but I do what I can. I have decided to accept what I can do and be happy with it. I'm currently finishing off all those kits I have started over the year before I move on to working though my 1/48 BOB project.
