  1. Winter camo turned out great, I like all these scratches. It's packed to the teeth with bags and boxes - very nice addition to the kit. Only the pink blanket on the rear of the turret seems a bit to clean to my eyes, maybe adding some light dust to it would tone it down? Anyway, great job! Cheers
  2. Third and final vehicle from Academy GV set 6 is famous M3 Half-track. Gun barrels' tips were drilled with microdrill. Windows on windshield on this kit were also to be scratchbuilt, so I made them from clear binding cover. Painting was done with Gunze Olive Drab, while kit was primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black - I like to use black primer as a preshading base for military vehicles. Headlights on this one were also made from Kristal Klear, but as they are only 1mm in diameter I had to be careful with making those tiny Kristal Klear drops, resulting in making them too shallow, so when I glued them with Tamiya X-22 Gloss clear, they just "dissapeared" in varnish I usually make headlights this way, but this is the first time I failed in doing so...and was lazy to make new ones, so it stays like this... Weathering is done with MIG pigments. Please, feel free to comment/critique... Cheers, S.
  3. Second vehicle from Academy GV set 6 is Ford GPA, very unusual looking amphibian "jeep". Windshield was designed to be movable so I used this oportunity to make it that way. Windows on windshield were to be scratchbuilt, so I used clear binding cover to make those details. Painting was done with Gunze Olive Drab, while kit was primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black - I like to use black primer as a preshading base for military vehicles. Headlights on this one were also made from Kristal Klear, but due to tiny space beneath headlight covers, I wasn't very succesfull in glueing to their position correctly - they are only 1mm in diameter so it was very tricky job... Weathering is done with MIG pigments. Please, feel free to comment/critique... Cheers, S.
  4. This is the first of three vehicles from Academy GV set 6. It was enjoyable build. I used Gunze Olive Drab, while kit was primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black - I like to use black primer as a preshading base for military vehicles. The only "scratchbuilt" detail on this tiny piece of plastic is headlight - it was made from Kristal Klear. Weathering is done with MIG pigments. Please, feel free to comment/critique... Cheers, S.
  5. Cockpit has been installed into fuselage few days ago. I have reinforced cockpit with styrene strips from bottom side using superglue... Wings are now also glued to fuselage - they require small attention around joints - it will be fixed with a bit of putty... Exhaust pipes were drilled with some dentist tools as they are very hard to reach even with microdrills... Horizontal stabilizers remain to be glued to their positions, and hopefully not to long to wait until primer Cheers, S.
  6. Nothing happens when I hover with cursor over number of votes for any GB in poll, nor when I click on any number. All vote numbers are 'greyed' for me, just simple text... I tried this in Chrome and Firefox, using Win10... Maybe only staff members have that option to see voters when click?
  7. Maybe you could've glue that upper cockpit part with superglue - it would hold very well, and it would save you some time in waiting Tamiya glue to cure. On the other hand, there could be possibility for super glue to crack somewhere in future time... Tamiya glue will bond the plastic together and it will be 'together-forever'... Clear parts seem to have few bubbles here and there? Hopefully not so annoying. Cheers, Srđan
  8. Cockpit details are done now - instruments on instrument panel are filled with drops of Kristal Klear, while subtle weathering (wash and drybrush) are also applied. I think we're ready for enclosure of cockpit area...
  9. Amodel kits.. where you put more cement/concrete/styrene/putty/_______ (add yourself) and use all possible "construction work" tools instead of modelling tools I know your pain John... went through this few times, and hopefully not anymore... Anyway, going in good direction so far, I hope your modelling mojo won't let you down... few more steps and you're closer to the painting stage.... Cheers, S.
  10. I like your painting style Hewy - it gives model a very realistic look. Planks on the floor are real masterpiece - scribing of wood texture and differene in shades.. excellent! Engine is also 'alive' thanks to weathering. Topic I will follow with pleasure... Cheers, S.
  11. It looks very realistic. I like colour modulation on panels, and especially good moment is this angle of suspension, this is something I see for the first time someone did on scale models - it gives model additional realism effect! Fantastic! Cheers, S.
  12. Oh, I permuted STGB and GB necessary numbers. Anyway, I'm looking forward to start of this GB Thanks for putting me on the list Stix! Cheers, S.
  13. Let's get closer to necessary number for STGB - please add me to the list - I have Revell 1/72 Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. L in stash, waiting for its chance to be built... Thanks, Srđan
  14. I'd like to sign up too - I have few candidates in stash (Fujimi 1/72 Alpha Jet, Revell 1/144 AV-8B and Azur FRROM 1/72 IK-2 ), can't decide which one to build...maybe all of them if I find enough time Thanks, Srđan
  15. Hello Steve, I think I could join with Monogram 1/72 X-15 - it sits for very long time in the stash, finally I have a good excuse to build it! Cheers, Srđan
  16. Today I managed to paint interior of cockpit and canopy in RAF Interior Green - I mixed few Gunze colours to achieve similar shade to Humbrol 78. The reason for mixing colours is that I don't feel very comfortable with Humbrol Enamels - I've accustomized to work with Gunze acryllics Wheelbay also changed its colour - now it is in Aluminium - Gunze Metalizer, buffed a bit after 10-15min... That's all for today, detailing of cockpit starts soon... Cheers, S.
  17. All small parts are prepared for painting, so I've used this afternoon for spraying primer on cockpit, wheelbay, and small parts. Cockpit is primered with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Grey, and then (something like) preshaded with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. Wheelbay and some other parts that are supposed to be painted in Aluminium were primered with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. It doesn't seem like much progress since last photo(s), but soon I will add some colour into this grey/black world
  18. Although at the moment I have two unfinished Spits in various stages of painting, a modeller cannot have enough Spits in progress Patrice, please sign me up - probably it will be an AZ model 1/72 Spitfire Mk IX in exotic livery. Thanks, Srđan
  19. I could join this one with a pair of Platz 1/144 A-4Es Srđan
  20. It gives you +4 cammo bonus if applied on hull in World of Tanks
  21. Hmm.. well, I'm not really much into their story, so this decal instructions is all I have as reference regarding to colours and pattern Do you maybe know a bit more about it? I could paint it according to this manual in the end if I don't find better reference, as I do tolerate some differences as long as it resembles original Thanks for the comments, suggestions and help in advance! Cheers, S.
  22. Wow, that's quite a bit of heavy metal inside :) Nice job with etched parts, really like it! Cheers, S.
  23. Very nice model, technically very good looking. I like that semigloss "metal" look of painting - it looks like a real machine. Definitely one of kits to get for the stash! Cheers, S.
  24. Excellent look, this shading of panels give it a rather weathered and aggressive look. Also I like a bit exotic markings and nice camouflage pattern. Great job! Cheers, S.
  25. Excellent weathering - it looks like a real thing!
