  1. Lovely Whif! I like how these colours fit A-10, and the story is also nice one. Well done! Cheers, S.
  2. I like this idea, because I thought of it too, although in 1/72, and I do have that LH set of decals. Cliff, may I suggest you NOT to delete those USAF roundels on wings and fuselage - they can be a good guide to paint those markings instead of using 1/72 decals on 1/100 kit?
  3. Thanks Wez, I'm not sure yet how my 2021 schedule would look like, but there is enough time to decide - I'm sure there will be enough votes for GB to pass selection, so I will let you know in decent time. I'm certainly interested in this GB with some of these kits. Cheers, S.
  4. Wez, I have some Heller vehicles in 1/43 that could have 'French connection', so I would like to check up with you whether something from this list could be eligible for this GB? I understand these cars are definitely French-made: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80175-2-cv-citroen--146685 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80162-ds-19-citroen--146684 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-71231-205-rallye--345101 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80192-peugeot-206-wrc--169573 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80115-307-wrc--146678 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80150-r5-turbo--146681 But what makes me curious whether THESE are ok with GB rules: - Williams-Honda FW11B, driven by Nigel Mansell at 1987 FRENCH Grand Prix, at Paul Ricard circuit, and achieving win in that race https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-79801-williams-f1--195981 -McLaren-TAG Porsche MP4/3, driven by reigning champion Alain Prost (FRENCHMAN), during 1987 F1 season. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-79800-mac-laren-f1--169557 Thanks in advance for clarification, I would probably join with something from this list. Cheers, S.
  5. As Patrice approved my so far done work on this kit, I'm pleased to join my first 'regular' GB (I don't count KUTA as so much regular GB due to open rules). Like I explained in GB chat, this P-51D is started ages ago, last steps done in 2011 to be precise... Photos were made on 05.11.2019, but last steps are done 8 years ago... Cockpit is painted, but etched walls are to be assembled ... Italeri missed to engrave panel lines on join of wings and fuselage so I made them with masks and spraying of few layers of Mr. Surfacer. I've planned to make this Mustang as Guatemalan machine... Everything ready for next weekend's official start of GB! Cheers, S.
  6. Fantastic build, fantastic photos, and fantastic way to display models! Don't have much more to say.. except BRAVO! Cheers, S.
  7. Both F-104 and MiG look very very realistic and convincing - if I saw a photo of them on the daylight and with more natural background, I would thought they are real machines! Great job Dansk, BRAVO! Cheers, S.
  8. Nice one, it's definitely refreshing to see Nimrod in livery that is not that "cream" one. Wipers on the windshield are great addition to details on the kit! Cheers, S.
  9. Thanks for the comments and suggestion 3DStewart. I think metal colour would just emphasize already oversized spokes, and on photos of this military bike I saw rims and spokes mostly in Olive Drab, so I would prefer to leave it as is. Cheers, S.
  10. Yey! That Kimi's West McLaren will soon be out of its garage (stash) and straight to the workshop! As this will be my first proper build of civilian vehicle, and larger than 1/72, it will be an interesting challenge. Also I appreciate length of this GB - it lasts almost 4 months, so hopefully enough time for experiments with polishing on car body.. Thanks and cya soon on the track! S.
  11. Looking very nice, I like the family photo in the end - just another one to go, and then final photos
  12. Huh, so many details, don't know where to look first! Cockpit is full to the teeth, really look busy. I like burnt metal effect on engine exhausts, while dust footmarks on cargo doors are also very nice touch (although they might be just a touch with fingers? :D) Well done mate, on to the new projects now Oh, and congrats for the 1st place! Cheers, S.
  13. Blue spinner gives a bit of life to the front area - nice touch. I also like how the drybrush emphasized cockpit walls. Good job so far, looking forward to assembling and painting steps
  14. But next year Kimi will be racing in Vietnam.... ...although not in that McLaren from my stash but in Alfa Romeo... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnamese_Grand_Prix
  15. Hmmm.. it would be interesting to merge every 2 choices from top to the bottom... According to the last chart published by Trickyrich, it would look something like this: 1 - Choppers in the Navy 2 - Interceptors in Small Wars 3 - Kits of MTO you built as a kid 4 - Scandinavian machines in Vietnam 5 - NAA anything but injection 6 - Yanks abroad in 90s NATO 7 - British Stranger AFVs in town
  16. Release the Viggen.... I mean Krak...Draken! (small boost for Scandinavian GB :P)
  17. Nice colour scheme, and very realistic look on the exhausts.
  18. I like this gloss-matt finish on the wings - you pay a lot of attention to details. Can't wait to see next steps... Cheers, S.
  19. Very nice weathering that just emphasizes one-colour-camo. Dust effects are really good. Well done. Cheers. S.
  20. One of the most beautiful ALCA liveries...and you've recreated it in scale perfectly! Well done Djos! Cheers, S.
  21. This whole scene is just excellent - painting, shading, weathering, equipment around the aircraft, base... Cheers, S.
  22. I like the rain/dirt marks on the front plate, and on turret. Colour modulation on fuel barrels is also visible and nice detail to break one-colour camouflage. Did you make steel rough texture on mantlet 'cheeks', or it was manufactured by Trumpeter?
  23. Thanks for the kind words Francis and Roger I actually don't prefer real colour modulation. After overall coat of black primer, I spray camouflage colour(s), but avoiding heavy coats, so black underneath stays visible as a preshading around panel lines. In the end, I ligthen camo colour(s) a bit, and then spray that lighter shade only on panel middles, but also trying to spray it randomly - to achieve shading similar to rain&dirt marks. Sometimes I do dot filtering, sometimes it's just regular wash - here I applied both. I'm glad you like it - I will try to explain and help everything I can... Cheers, S.
