  1. Wow, that shading on metal parts... And weathering on floats... huh.. brilliant! Nevermind you didn't made it with base - model itself is really masterpiece, bravo! Cheers, S.
  2. Well, as it was a rainy day here in Belgrade, I thought it was perfect timing for doing some more painting. Other wing was painted in white, leaving some preshading visible underneath - I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Next on the schedule is Aluminium for the rest of bottom fuselage... Cheers, S.
  3. No time to waste Today was rainy here in Belgrade, so it was perfect day for staying inside and do some painting. Panzergrau (Gunze H401) was applied overall, and lightened with few drops of white in few iterations. Few more days and we're off to RFI... Cheers and thanks for visiting this topic, S.
  4. This looks awesome - very realistic weathering, I just can't wait for the finish Great job and skills Hewy! Cheers, S.
  5. Well, I must admit this GB is going with the lightning speed, there are so many nice builds, so one almost cannot find time to do his own build Anyway, I've been doing some bits on mine Mustang during past few days. Etched wheelbay covers were primered with Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black on the inner side (that will go into aluminium), and also wheels, landing gear, and propeller. Extratech underbody intake radiators were assembled and glued to their place, and that small "fence" on oval frontal intake part. Dryfit show this part is very nice addition to this kit There will be some more work before assembling the cockpit with fuselage, and closing the fuselage itself, but I think after that everything should go straightforward more or less... Thanks for watching Cheers, S.
  6. Finally I've managed to find time for painting i.e. primering for the start. I've sprayed Mr. Surfacer 1500 Grey overall, and after some half hour break I did the preshading too - Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. Preshading was done on panel lines where camo colour is lighter, while panels that will be in aluminium colour were painted in black beetween panel lines, in order to give metalizer some depth. Fabric parts were painted in black where they are sunk. On underside I did some playing around. Bottom of the left wing is painted in black (asymmetrical RAF camo), but... I've painted only middle parts of panels, while panel lines were left almost visible in grey primer. I'm trying to make some distinction beetween panels, especially because panel lines are raised. Next one is white colour on other wing, and then we go "metallic way" Thanks for watching, S.
  7. Thanks Jeroen After few days off, today I've found some time to put the primer on. I've used Mr. Surfacer Black 1500... Cheers, S.
  8. Nice work on cockpit Rich, I really like detail of number 295 on 'box' behind the seat.
  9. It seems you managed to salvage the kit very well, which is nice - a proof we always have to wait for some cooldown period after something break our plans :) This looks really good, details in cockpit are very realistic, although I too cannot see canopy attached on that photo it may be a stealth one? Cheers and waiting for new photos, S.
  10. This scheme looks brilliant on Phantom! It really refreshed its contours, and you did a really good job in painting those white stripes and tail flag! Cheers, S.
  11. We have 2 more weeks left in 2019, so I thought "Why shouldn't I try to finish another one in quick-mode?" I've started work on the kit on Monday, most of the plastic parts were assembled then, while yesterday and today were spent on PE parts...pretty tiny as you can see on photos. Everything ready for the primer! Cheers, S.
  12. Aoshima, ARII, Fujimi? Academy, Dragon? Bilek, ICM, KP?
  13. These modifications look really cool, I like how you extended tail fin, while cockpit..huh.. no words!
  14. I like how interior turned out, keep going!
  15. You're going very well and also clean and precise with this one!
  16. Pretty detailed cockpit, those Eduard bits raise the level of realism!
  17. Thanks Miguel. Yes, landing gear legs are a bit more forward than should be, and also I think that one of them is at a bit steeper angle than the other one. The reason is I had a bit of trouble positioning them correctly - I had to use spare legs from some other kit, as one of legs in this kit wasn't moulded correctly - half of the leg was missing! Replacement legs had different attachment pin to the wing, so it was a bit tricky to glue it at right angle. In the end, I lost my patience and SUPERglued it to the wings I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you when you decide to build this kit.. it's a bit tricky in nose and wheelbay-wings area, but not so hard to fix.. just needs some more time and patience... Thanks once again and cheers, S.
  18. Newest addition to my collection of finished models - one of pre-production Fw 190A-0s I've started work on this kit early in 2019, and thought it will be straightforward build, as there is only one sprue, camouflage is RLM 02 overall ... but... AZ kits are typical shortruns, and I didn't think of that detail... So, most of the work went on modelling engine area, and thinning down of parts of wings to try to incorporate resin wheelbay. Finally, hard labour delivered satisfying result - at least I am satisfied with final look. Painting is done with Gunze acrylics, wash with artistic oils, and weathering/dusting with MIG pigments. Boarding ladder is scratchbuilt from sprue and thin styrene, antena beetween canopy and tail is fishing nylon, while pitot tube and guns in wings are made from medical needles. Thanks for watching, and please do critique/suggest/comment. Cheers, S. Closeups... Posing with my reference object - USB Kingston ...
  19. As I was out of home whole day yesterday, I finally managed to officially start work on this build this afternoon. I've glued PE cockpit walls to both fuselage halves, and managed to assemble PE wheel doors. Cockpit is done 8 years ago as you've probably seen in intro post, so it is just posing on this photo
  20. Very nice model, base gives it a bit of realism. Cheers, S.
  21. Oustanding weathering.. all that dust, oil stains and grease.. just like on the real thing.. and cracked windshield is a very nice detail, adds a bit more realism to the kit! Great job, gotta be proud to have this gem in the display case! ;) Cheers, S.
  22. Thanks for the kind word mates, I'm glad you like it :)
  23. Not much done in these two weeks - horizontal stabilizers and canopy were glued to their place. I've drilled out that little intake on underbody Now we're ready for the primer, hope it will be done during the weekend Cheers and thanks for watching, S.
  24. We're getting closer to the end of 2019, so does work on some of kits in progress... Latest addition to my collection of 'mini' braillescale is very nice Revell edition of French Navy Dassault Rafale - prototype M02 to be precise. Painted with Gunze acrylics, wash done with artistic oils. French roundels are oversprayed with camo colour as they have to be toned down... On to the photos! Closeups... And one with my favourite reference object Thanks for the attention and please, do comment/suggest/critique... Cheers, S.
