  1. Well, off we go with this one! I didn't cut off any parts from sprue yet, but they've been given some colour, just to be in line with NY's and Xmas holidays' joyfulness Decals are Lift Here made, as I will represent one of JRV (Jugoslovensko Ratno Vazduhoplovstvo - Yugoslav Air Force) birds... can you guess which one of these it will be? Cheers, S.
  2. Oops, my mistake - I meant on upper cowling when I wrote antiglare - I thought whole upper cowling should be OD instead of yellow, so please take my appologies and ignore that above comment of mine.
  3. Those lightning bolts are not so easy to achieve to be symmetric on both sides when you have to make them by masking from scratch, so in my opinion they look very good, especially they are two-coloured! Cheers, S.
  4. Good job so far. Don't worry about yellow-at-the-moment antiglare area, OD will cover it very well, and yellow will give it a good base.
  5. Well, yes, Jinxman, you're right - final coat of paint did the magic. As I said in other topic (Spit Mk. IIa), today I was masking both kits for 4-5h, and gave them coat of Gunze H72 Dark Earth. After masking Hurricane looked like this And this is how it turned out after painting - D. Earth was lightened with few drops of white for middle parts of panels in order to emphasize preshading effect on panel lines... In few days I plan to spray Tamiya X-22 Gloss Clear, as a preparation for decaling... Cheers, S.
  6. Today was D-d..... MASKING-day! As I decided to paint Dark Earth both on Spit and Hurricane (other KUTA topic), I spent some 4-5h masking both kits...pretty boring job must admit... This is how kit looked like after masking and just before painting... ...but I am satisfied with the result of painting! I've lightened D. Earth with few drops of white for middle parts of panels and "ribs" on tail... I'll leave it to dry for few days and then proceed to next step - gloss varnish before decals.... Cheers, S.
  7. Almost 6 years ago I've started work on old Airfix Spitfire Mk. I, but had a lot of "on-offs" during time... and changed idea of making Mk. I to Mk. IIa as difference beetween is very small... As I'm nearing end of work on other oldy Airfix - Hurricane Mk. I, and basically both have same upper camouflage, I've decided to speed up work on Spit, and to gave it KUTA Here are the last photos made - dating back to February 2019... Rebooting it in following days with painting Dark Earth... Cheers, S.
  8. First upper camouflage colour took its place - Gunze H73 Dark Green, lightened with few drops of white for the middle parts of panels... Cheers, S.
  9. I've finally made some progress on my P-51. Intake area has been sprayed in Interior Green, details around grills and radiators received some oil wash, and cockpit has been finally installed in fuselage, and then closed... I'm waiting until tomorrow for the glue on fuselage halves dries out, and then it comes a bit boring part of taking care of those seams... Cheers and all the best in 2020 to all! S.
  10. It didn't take me too long in 2020 to start a new project Choice fell on Zvezda ISU-152 in braillescale. As I'm working on few kits at the same time, this is what I've done so far. Preparing ground for installing of tracks, while barrel from the kit is replaced with RB Model metal one... Cheers and all the best in 2020! S.
  11. It looks much better now than it was with "grainy" overspray. Keep going Dennis, can't wait to see decals on! Cheers, S.
  12. I've started 2019. modelling season with S-Model Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. B, and decided to finish it with another S-Model kit. Not too many words to share about the kit - easy build, with more PE parts than plastic ones so a pretty relaxed and fun few days build. Painted with Gunze acrylics, weathering done with MIG pigments. Wishing all of BritModeller members Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and a lot of great modelling days in forthcoming 2020! Cheers, S. Details... My usual reference object....
  13. This tiny "stick" looks fantastic - both its shape is interesting and your work and especially painting is masterpiece! Excellent job for this kind of buiild! BRAVO! Cheers, S.
  14. I put the name of the potential GB into the tagline during creating new post, I think it is very elegant solution?
  15. Build them...all? This one turned out pretty nice, especially having larger scale on mind!
  16. First and first, Mery Christmas to all who celebrate today! All the best wishes, and may the sprue&glue be with us through whole next year! I've planned to participate North American Aviation GB (host: @trickyrich), but unfortunately GB didn't make it to the final group during bunnpoll, so why not build it then in this new GB category? Until the start of the build, I'll put this boxart as a placeholder - it will be replaced with the photo of sprues... I won't tell you yet what do I have on my mind in terms of markings and livery, let it be a surprise in a way but for sure it will be kind of a exotic one! Cheers, S.
  17. Fantastic finish! I agree with Marco - this truck makes me wanna have some beer!
  18. Thanks for the kind words mates. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! Cheers, S.
  19. Or make them moveable? Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, S.
  20. No problem Dennis, we learn altogether through this research work for our kits But hey, looking at first photo of starboard side on first link you gave, you can see pattern of brown fields around Yugoslavian roundel. And also if you look more closely, it is visible the tail wheel is protruding top of the fuselage. Does this suggest this actually was a long tail wheel? On this photo tail wheel is also visible protruding the fuselage top Anyway looking forward to softening camo edges and final look after setting decals. Keep going, doing good so far! Cheers, S.
  21. Dennis, hope it's not too late if you wish to make some modifications to the camo, before you soften the cammo pattern edges. A friend of mine did this G-10 some 15 years ago, and I think he did the most correct camo pattern regarding to available reference. Here's the link to his finished kit: http://hsfeatures.com/bf109g10am_1.htm Hope it helps a bit... Cheers, S.
  22. Details in wheelbay and doors itself are really nice, and it would be a shame to have them omitted if you choose to put the doors closed. Of course you have the best idea how you would like these details to look in the end Cheers, S.
  23. Absolutely gorgeous! This cammo suits it very well, and I must praise the quality of photos too! Cheers, S.
