  1. Sounds like they will need bigger tables at Telford
  2. Hi Homebee - this looks awesome - but is it available? I live near Manchester (UK) & I believe these were used in attacks just a few miles from my house - this makes very interesting reading http://aircrashsites.co.uk/air-raids-bomb-sites/a3/ especially this one - http://aircrashsites.co.uk/air-raids-bomb-sites/v1-flying-bomb-site-oldham/ - which I pass on most days on the way home from work - eerie...
  3. Thanks Tony - Sounds encouraging - I am a patient man - I can wait - I will keep my eyes & ears open for genuine ICM news. Bush - as PM'd I appreciate your tip & I will keep looking for the Revell / Monogram versions - if I can find something cheaper than this £291 offering... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Monogram-Heinkel-German-Bomber-Model/dp/B017CBRSGS
  4. Do we think this is 100% nailed on for 2017??? Are ICM reliable on their announcements or are they just "teasers"???
  5. ...sorry to double post - but... Can anyone please advise if ICM announcements are generally "spot on" or "hog wash" - I am very excited about this prospect.
  6. Oh my - Oh my lord - how am I going to talk the missus into the fact that we are going to need an extension on the house
  7. Wow - this would be smashing. I've scoured the tinterwebs for a 1/48 He111 & found nothing. However - I'm new to all this & have no knowledge of ICM's reputation on coming up with the goods. So the question is - do I start holding my breath - or do I forget about it - the tension is killing me already.
  8. Last year's Year Book had me as confused as anything - it had the same cover as that month's AMW magazine. As I pick up my copy at the local Sainsbury's & they had both on the shelf I picked up the year book by mistake & didn't even notice the price difference at the check out. It was only when I got home & fished it out of the rest of the shopping that I realised my error - so back to Sainsbury's for the mag - what a numpty - good read for a newbie though
  9. Is it... "Liberator" - the ship used by the crew of Blake's 7 ???
  10. Amazing facts - amazing aircraft - just 54 built... I bet someone somewhere has built them all
  11. Thank you for the link above - looks like a brilliant book & lots of pictures too - smashing!!!
  12. Really nice I think I heard on a documentary recently that very few were actually built - that came as a huge surprise - about 50 or less??? Unbelievable
  13. Hi Dave - Thanks for the "like" on my 1:24 Spitfire Mk1a ramble - actually I really think it could be a real winner...

Oh - there I go again - off to take those "calming pills" - they can take everything but my dreams!

Hi X, think it is a winning idea myself as in broad terms the kit is said to be very accurate.

      Thanks for the note.

  14. Here's another thought - maybe... With the news that the 1:24 Spitfire MK1a is "taking a rest" - we are only 3 years away from it's 50th anniversary (1969)... So with the success of the 1:24 Typhoon & plenty of time for development & marketing - why not create a completely new tool to mark one of the true high points of Airfix. I can visualise James May making a new documentary - lots of celebrities coming out of the woodwork with their reminiscences of building this classic kit - news pieces on national TV telling us that this is another sign of "Britain being great again". OK - I'm rambling - but if ever a kit needed a bigger makeover than some new decals & new box art then it is this classic. Please show your support (please) ..OK I'll get me coat
  15. Hmmm… I’ve just noticed the Airfix website says - “Sorry the Airfield Control Tower 1:76 is no longer available. We're sorry, the website has sold out of this item and we're not expecting any more stock.” I’ve just bought one as a “template” to make my own "bigger one" & It looks like I may have got one just in time, or knowing my luck I will scratch build at 1:48 one & then they will announce a new tool 1:48 version NEW FOR 2017 OUCH!!!
  16. Fantastic - but too many windows for my current level of skill - something to aspire to
  17. Fantastic - I wish Xtradecals would make a set like the one you have produced here - beautiful work on a very appropriate subject - what a hero!!!
  18. Brilliant / fantastic / amazing / beautiful & many other words of admiration
  19. Yeh - I saw this too. Whilst we are looking forward to what is coming for 2017 - we also have to look at what we are losing from the back catalogue. I'm a newbie & I had my eye on the 1/24 Messerschmitt 109E & the Stuka. I understand they have to keep moving forward but I guess I had better get my cash out fast or risk missing something I coveted as a small boy.
  20. May I ask a question - where is the figure from - everything I have seen up to now appears to be 1/35 but this is clearly 1/48 - pardon my ignorance - I'm a newbie.
  21. Well that's a relief - my first thoughts were "I couldn't afford these as a kid & now as a newbie returning I have the cash for more expensive kits" ...so they go & discontinue them
