  1. Absolutely beautiful job here, I look forward to the next update! Andy.
  2. Yay, I will grab a drool bucket for oggling the impending greatness Andy.
  3. I second Dave's method, I have also used oil paints carefully applied and blended. Andy.
  4. If you are willing to do a bit of extra work, this website sells resin body/chassis/window kits of many classic cars intended for slot car racing. https://www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/slot-cars/resin-body-kits.html?p=2 Andy.
  5. Good to see you back Roy, lovely job of this kit, I bought 1 issue then was put of by the total price, I'll have to struggle with the revell one! Do you have any scratch builds in the pipeline? 1/8th XK8 per chance 🤔 Andy.
  6. Luuuurvley, that colour really sets it off, and as mentioned above, such a neat and clean build! Looks better than the real one, I always thought the wheels on it looked too small and in-board on the real thing. Andy.
  7. What a fantastic job you have done with this, I love seeing all you clever people working some magic on these large scale beasts, I look forward to your take on the GT40! Will there be a WIP? Andy.
  8. Perfect result as usual, this version of the quattro looks much better than the lwb Andy.
  9. Coooor! Yes, even betterer than before! Coincidentally had a beautiful drive out in mine today Andy.
  10. Stunning job on this, never new about this kit, everything about your build is exceptional! There has been a few 1/32 builds on here recently, great to see Andy
  11. Brilliant result, I love the wire wheels, makes all the difference! For the number plates, I use cheap homemade waterside decal paper from Amazon, go on a number plate making website, type the plate you want up, copy and paste into word or something scale, print and apply! You can get clear or white paper, if you use clear you can paint the area silver and it appears like a metal plate! Hope this helps, Andy.
  12. Looks amazing, I've never seen one built this well, one slight thing, the chin spoiler scoop lip thing should be satin black as it is on the real car, apart from that PERFECT, what's next on the line? Andy.
  13. Theres an old brummie that's started at work that refers to it as 'the jag' he doesn't praise them that much lol! I agree, we've hijacked the thread! Once again bloody good job
  14. Hello @FalklandsCraig that's correct, I am not pooping on Fords parade, I think they did absolute wonders for the company in many many ways, I truly do! I loved my X-type, wonderful car, it's just that, with the ford takeover, jags just lost a little bit of the magic they had up till the late 80s even by putting a 'traditional dashboard' in the late XJS spoiled the feel. interesting fact, Jaguar had gone private in 1983 with Sir John Egan as the Director, they sorted out the quite frankly appalling BL build quality issues and returned to profit within a couple of years, they were not in financial trouble when ford purchased them, Ford put them in a position they couldn't get out of, Ford just reeeeally wanted Jag!! If you like Jags I recommend Sir John Egans book 'Saving Jaguar' it's a good read Also the Egan Jags of 1983 onwards truly are reliable mostly, my car sat in a chicken barn for 17 years, I did a little welding, gave the engine a good once over, greased up all the electrical connections, changed the Rad and a few bushes and have since done 7500 faultless miles in it in 3 years, always opting to use it on our long journeys so don't believe the fodder! Classic cars must be used regularly or they will go wrong, just like modern cars. Also as a side note, did you ever think the DB7 looked a bit Jaguary... well, thats because it IS a jaguar, the XJ-S replacement F-Type, designed throughout the mid 80s and early 90s on XJ-S underpinnings, they even tried the 4wd system intended for the XJ220 on a test car, when ford bought Aston an Jag, jag had nearly finished the f-type, but as to didn't have anything in the pipeline, so ford gave the f-type to aston and renamed it DB7, with a couple of very minor design tweaks, that's why it has the 6cylinder and V12 as per the XJS, whilst also giving jaguar funding for a new engine (AJ8) and a new car (XK8) Sorry for the thread drift! I just get very excited about these sort of things
  15. Absolutely stunning job on the jag, regarding the 1.1. Jags, the XJ-S is the last true real thoroughbred Jaguar, designed by William Lyons and Malcolm Sayer (c-type, d-type and e-type) the XK8 unfortunately really is a posh Ford, that's not me being a snob, I genuinely really like the XK8, it just doesn't feel right to me, the XJ-S (pre 1992) and the XJ6's and e-types all have a certain feel to them that you don't get in the XK8, it feels just like an X-type... which is also a great car. maybe it's the quirkyness like the barrel type dials etc, I own an 87 XJ-S 3.6 that has covered 123000ish miles, engine purrs like a Kitten, no trim rattles, it is used on an almost daily bassis, beautiful on motorways and brilliantly exiting on B roads, they are not like you would expect them to be, the steering is nicely geared and weighted (mainly on the 6 cylinder cars I think?) and very direct, the suspension is smooth but quite firm, a good one will handle like it's on rails, the brakes are as a modern car, 4pot calipers upfront and discs at the back too, air conditioning and climate control as standard, heated mirrors (and washer jets on some), electric windows, many many ashtrays, I don't smoke but the front ones are beautiful to operate, the best of the classic ones are 1983 to 1990, before that they are a lottery, after that they go all a bit fordy. Also parts are fairly cheap as they share many components with the XJ6 and E-type. In summary the XJ-S was revolutionary and forward thinking, the XK-8 was designed by ford people to be what they thought a jag should be... with golfers in mind and is a bit stale. I would recommend an XJ-S 6 clyinder 3.6 or early 4.0. Sorry about the long post but it was my dream car as a lad and has not disappointed me thus far 😀 Once again great job on the Kit! What's next? Andy.
  16. Phwoar! Looking purrrfect! Shame about the tyres, interior looks spot on in this kit, lovely job of painting it I will say the bumpers do look a little too pronounced in this kit compared to 1.1 scale, also there should be a slither of black plastic between the front centre chrome and the grille! Andy.
  17. Looking great, they really need to re-tool this kit, it can be built into an ok looking car with a bit of swearing! Andy.
  18. Or a Reliant Kitten... for symmetry, and in the modern body car category; Nissan Cube New Defender Tesla cybertruck. 🙂
  19. What a great idea! I think you have captured the essence of the cars here, if I may, I would like to suggest some equally boxy and scarce motors. -Mk2 cavalier -maestro/montego -lada -rover 216 / Honda concerto -range rover classic -Lamborghini countach. Food for thought! Andy.
  20. Absolutely stunning job, and definitely less rust than my real one 🤣 I agree, the pre HE xjs always looks a little odd to me proportionally with the big bumpers and skinny tires (although the interiors on the early cars are LUSH) I really think they nailed it with the 80s era cars! Andy.
  21. chaps 👍 Here is an image of a DB4 that I recently built the body for and did all the other metalwork on, it's one very special car! Cheers, Andy.
  22. Oooh, that is superb, such a clean neat build, perfect colour as well Andy.
  23. Fantastic, looks like a perfect job to me Andy.
  24. Looking fantastic, this really is a great little kit Andy.
