  1. After my last build took 2 years on and off, the heavily modified Airfix Wallace and Grommit motorbike and sidecar. I decided I needed to detox by building a kit in a day... The Airfix Mary Rose, which I did indeed finish in one day. After riding the high of actually finishing a complete kit in such little time, I felt my mojo has been somewhat restored for now and have embarked on my second kit in as many weeks. This was a gift from my wife on my latest birthday, she bought me this because I wouldn't let her have a real one to learn in, so have been tasked to build it to her specification. Hopefully this will take less than 2 years to build, so I am not going mad with the details to help with a fairly speedy completion. Cheers, Andy.
  2. Cool kit, in my opinion Roger moores best bond film, not cheesy at all and quite ruthless and grounded in reality for the most part! I have the DB5 snap kit, I may have to get this and the Diamonds mustang, now that's a cool car!
  3. Nice, interesting looking kit πŸ‘Œ loving the yellow!
  4. Brilliant, forgot they did this... and the triumph tr4, great little kits, looking forward to watching this progress πŸ‘
  5. Brilliant, I own most of these but have only built the Chiron so far. You are right, they have captured the shapes perfectly on all of these little cars, more than can be said of other manufacturers in a larger scale, revell with their e-type coupe with the wrong window and roofline, even their new DB5 is a little squiffy in shape πŸ˜” but we buy and build them anyway πŸ˜‰
  6. My stash is embarrassingly large, I've been buying more than I build since I was 10(ish) 25 or so years ago 🀯 My hope is that I get a few spare minutes a week to actually build something... from a kit box, the last year I have only finished one actual kit πŸ˜ͺ it's mostly my fault probably πŸ˜…
  7. Absolutely great result, wish I could knock em' out this quick!
  8. I have a Matchbox Vincent black shadow (been wanting this for years, thanks Dad!!!) and the new revell Aston Martin DB5πŸ‘Œ Merry Christmas everyone Andy.
  9. Thanks chaps, I am quite pleased with it, despite the issues πŸ€ͺ
  10. Hello chaps, that Conversion is great! I won't be respoking the wheels as they look pretty reasonable to the actual W&G bike, although the wheels are a little skinny on the kit. Here is a little sneak of the almost finished model, on to a diorama base now.
  11. Nice, I have one of them in the stash, I might need a few years away from W&G models to forget the horrors of this kit 🀣 But glad to know it's not just my kit.
  12. Thanks, I have used Halfords primer and paint for all the base coats of stuff, the plastic in my kit had all crazing and cracks before I started, it's all slightly rubbery and doesn't sand well at all, I wonder if anyone else's kits from this boxing have that problem πŸ€” Anyway it's been a challenging build but I am glad to say it is finished! I am building a base though as its quite fragile and surprisingly heavy. I will post some pictures later. Andy.
  13. Well, Some more absolutely glacial progress, other than a bit of dirtying up the bike is done, the seat is not correct to the films but at this point I want to finish the kit... it's been over a year since I started it and it needs completing. detail items painted and added βœ“ 3D printed front end painted and decaled βœ“ UV resin for glass βœ“ do I wish I had used Alclad in the exhaust βœ“ Is is staying as is as it's now permanently bonded on and I don't want to risk damaging anything βœ“ The figures are another source of woe, especially Gromit, but I'll see how chuck' looks in the sidecar before making a decision on whether I should remake him! enjoy the pics
  14. That looks great! Have this in the stash, I built the polar lights 1/32 one about 9 years ago which was also a fun build. I really like the bat signal and matts, nice touches! Andy.
  15. I think you are being harsh on yourself, being a serial Land Rover and Range rover masochist, it looks just like the real thing in some of those pics, much better condition than any of my 1:1 scales anyway πŸ˜‰ I'd be tempted to add some galvanic corrosion along the bottom of the panels then it'd be 🀌 You've had a mighty battle on this and didn't give up and have achieved a great model, in a few months time you won't even remember the issues! Cheers, Andy
  16. Excellent work, been following this since the start, you have achieved a mini Marvel there! Andy.
