  1. If you check one of the "is it down?" websites photobucket has been having problems for several hours. There's page after page of comments from unhappy photobucket users!
  2. I think there is a problem with photobucket. I have seen the same thing on other forums. Even if you can click on the item it comes up that page cannot be reached?
  3. Yeah, settled for black Ian. I have decal paper, may or may not put something on it, maybe some made up specification number.
  4. Posted elsewhere about this, even contacted the RAF Museum and all I've been able to discover is that lub oil drums "were probably black", no info at all about any markings that may have been on them. If I'd been building the 1/24 ME 109 or Stuka no problem, plenty of info about (and models of) WW2 German fuel and oil drums, allied especially RAF is another matter
  5. Only just come across this thread but what a fascinating read, stunning skill levels.
  6. I've fancied a few of these De Agostini kits . . . . until I tallied the total cost. This one works out at £888, no thanks!
  7. I wouldn't really advise the Dremel as you are new to removing the material unless you are very confident. I'd second scraping with sharp (preferably new) blades but if using the chisel blade be careful which way round it is. Have the angled side against the material otherwise it may dig deeper than you want it to.
  8. My next build is going to be the Airfix 1/24 Typhoon, already thinking of how to display it. I have in my mind its in the corner of the hangar under maintenance. As part of the set dressing I'm thinking about using a couple of 55 gallon oil drums I have in my "bits box", any idea what colour they would have been?
  9. Not really into car kits but I have the Monogram 1/16 scale Peterbilt 359. I was planning a couple of motorcycle kits next, Airfix 1/8 Norton Commando and Tamiya 1/6 Honda CB750F but they've taken a back seat after I saw the level of detail on the Airfix 1/24 Typhoon.
  10. What I have in mind is one mechanic on a set of steps (prob need to make the steps!) working on the engine and a second mechanic talking with a pilot. I've more or less settled on the pilot figure. Need a few tools and possibly a toolbox as well but that's a different headache!
  11. Looked at Reedoak, Their pilot is one of two I'm considering when the time comes.
  12. Cheers, kinda though that. Maybe some manufacturer will surprise me before I need them. Mind you, if they are the same sort of price I've seen for 1/24 scale pilots I don't think I'll bother!
  13. Afternoon, my next planned build is the Airfix 1/24 scale Typhoon. In order to display the engine and cannon detail I intend showing it under maintenance. I've spent days looking for 1/24 scale RAF ground crew figures to no avail. Does such a thing exist or, like many others, will I have to resort to the Tamiya rally pit crew?
