Great clean model. Display set you also made by yourself? One thing which is worth to consider-dont you think your Apache is to clean for a warbird? I am talkin about some sand and dirt on the fuselage. BTW Its a great luck that you know real Apache pilot. A true source of knowledge. -
Hello everyone :) After longer absence i am publishing my newest work-1:72 UH-1N Twin Huey, USS Tarawa, Operation Desert Storm. I made it extremaly fast-3,5 week. Propobly i will give it to one of my workmates. Parts match in about 90%, except cargo bay doors. You need to make bigger holes for windows, because they are way to small (both of them-those in smaller and bigger cargo doors). I am giving this clue because US Navy Italeri packing is out of production, but parts are repacked in other colour schemes by Italeri and other producers. Good news is that the Kittyhawk is planning to US Navy's UH-1N in 1:48 scale. I painted it in oil chemicals from Humbrol and ModelMaster. 2 big issue which i had: -problem with installing glass parts with Clearfix and Micro Crystal Clear. Both of them are very thick and when i am using them, they are causing some bad marks on model surface which sometimes is very hard to remove. Anyone had similar problem? - i wanted to make very glossy surface, but after 3-4 layers of Humbrol Acryl i gave it up and failed. Which gloss varnish is giving the most gloss surface close to real one? My base coat was Humbrol 30 (very flat...)-maybe that was the problem? I am waiting for all (bad and good) comments :)

Could you reveal 2 things: 1. How you glued Hellfire missiles to the launchers? You did extremaly clean. Could you tell something more about technique and type of glue? 2. How did you painted helicopter wheels? Tyres are obvioulsy black and this is simple, but the elements inside them are circled. You used circle tape masks or something? Thank you in advance for answer

Thank you all for the comments. In my UH-1D kit there was no decals for RAAF, only for USA, Germany and Italy. you can buy it but for decals you must do the market research
-
I used water as a thinner and i got much better effects

I'll try and write what i see

Hello, i have problem with spraying this Humbrol product by airbrush. It comes out very slowly just like not well thinned. I didn't use any thinners. Just shaked the bottle before using. Anybody have similar problem? Do you thinning this product with something?

Hey hi hello. Here's mine 1:72 Revell BK-117. Painting is taken from 90's TV series Medicopter 117. It took me over 2 months to complete this set. Build OOB (except stretcher), painted with Humbrol and Testors oils and varnished also by their products. I didn't put wash on it because in series there was always clean and shiny chopper Hardest step in this set was masking and painting line between red and yellow. Aplying some decals was also challenge (about 5 hours it took me to complete all decals...) Some photos - please comment.

I was trying to do something like this: http://www.hyperscale.com/2015/galleries/ah64dapache72vs_1.htm -
Hi, my newest child Below all my mistakes and opinions: a) model was painted Gunze H, MR Surfacer 1200 as a first coat, preshading (which disappeared of course) oil humbrol, gloss varnish humbrol AC7431-BAD choice, unfortunately gunze paint cracked and grey stains were visible on decals, matt lacquer was Gunze H20, which was excellent choice, c) after i used some oil painst for wash, i tried some dust pigment (desert sand effects) which interefered with this oil wash, c) acrylic paints allowed me for the first time keep my glass parts clean and free from fog, d) i didn't focused on little details or mistakes, because i wanted to try some new methods and modelling products, i also moving out so i had some influence od my modeling time and space e) preovius factor also concers quality of photos (which i also try to improve) f) this funny sheet on canopy wasn't my idea for the first time but unfortunately windscreen cracred little a bit over CP/G seat during cutting doors... Comments are welcome

Hello, is it possible that some of israeli AH-64D have TEDAC monitor, despite they have older (first) version of TADS/PNVS?? I thought that TEDAC was connected only with Arrowhead system.
-
Hello, AH-1Z is very advanced chopper and i heard that it's gun slavery system is much different than in AH-1W and older Cobra models (wire connected to gunner helmet). So maybe it's something common to AH-64 (IR detectors in cockpit)? Anyone could write something more in this subject (beside clissified infos of course:)?
-
Hi, does anyone has informations about circa number of AH-64's in US service at now? IMHO they should have around 700 of them but maybe i am wrong.
-
Nothing to apologise :-) i really didn't understand your words, are you Apache pilot or mechanican?
-
Could you be more concrete?
