  1. That does indeed look really good in photos. I hear what you're saying about a "total" chrome look through and can see where it would look like that. Hmm.....is there any way to sand the back down to the point where just the ribbing remains, then airbrush Molotow over the whole grille assy. Just a passing thought. I'm definitely looking forward to more of this awesome build.
  2. Got the engine wiring all completed as of this evening. Man it's nice to have some unexpected modeling time to get that much further ahead.
  3. Lookin' good so far. Good job on the flaring.
  4. Yellow's a hard color to get right and it certainly looks like you've got that part nailed down perfectly. Stance looks great too. Edit: Didn't mention it earlier but that job on the grille is BAD A$$!!!
  5. Haven't posted anything on this build here as I forgot I had a build thread out in the open for this. I've been posting all of my progress on the Mustang GB thread so I apologize for not posting here. Any hoo.....here we go.... Made some changes to get the stance where I wanted it. The front got some re-positioning of the front spindles, a little sanding here and a little drilling there. All the rear springs needed was a slight re-arching. Now it's starting to look more like I want it to with a slight forward rake.
  6. Ya see.....I always like coming to this thread not only for the fantastic build that's going on in it but for all the good information that' put out. I'm definitely going to be checking into this Green Stuff Chrome I tell tell ya that!!
  7. Thanks Stef!! So far I'm mostly happy with this part of the build. Not really happy about the absence of an oil filter but.....I'll make up for it elsewhere.
  8. Lotsa surgery going on with these builds man. Progress on all is looking good. Love the drop on that 65.
  9. Umm.....defects?? Where?? Unbelievably good work with this car. Just beautiful.
  10. Looks terrific so far. Love all the details. Ya see....Revell got it right here with the ejector pin marks. They are UNDER the seat unlike other examples I've seen where they are in the PERFECT wrong place with one in each corner of the floor. Your progress is looking great bud.
  11. Breaks are nice. Just got through with a short one myself but it was much needed. My wife and I haven't "gotten away" in three years and it's alot more important than any modeling I can say that. Looking forward to more progress and I'm glad I looked in here because I've gotta go pick my dang door handles that I keep forgetting about. EDIT: JUST ordered 'em!! 🙃
  12. Damn IT man!!! WOW!!! Very impressive detailing in such small scale. I love it!!!!
  13. That dash looks like the "bee's knees" right there! Great work. I hear you on the tachometer placement. I went through this same issue two builds ago. True PIA.
  14. Dangit!!! Cant see the pics here at work. Will be looking at this one later on tonight brother.
  15. That interior looks good John. If you threw a set of floor mats in there it'd be an easy fix to get rid of those ejector pin marks in the four corners of that floor board. Dont know why the manufacturers insist on letting those wind up on the floor but it can be easily taken care of. Looking forward to more buddy.
  16. Alright gang......thanks for all the "likes". Had a GREAT time with my wife just out and about with absolutely no demands on our time. Life's been crazy this year with one thing to do after another and it was sure nice to take a break together. Now that we're back home, I am glad to be building on this project again. This mornings progress. Still need to paint the breather cap on the rocker cover and the alternator bracket is NOT correct BUT...... I needed to do something with it to keep it from becoming the "mysterious floating alternator". I added a bolt head to the front of the alternator to simulate a through bolt into the adjustment bracket. I'm actually good with this as it adds another touch to the engine. Ignition & charging system electrical wiring coming next.
  17. Still at it you guys and I have NOT abandoned this build or the GB for that matter. Just had a lot going on. This weekend my wife and I are getting away for a couple of days just to spend some time together away from all of the constant demands that are on us. It'll be a nice break.
  18. Man that looks killer!!! I'll have to remember that method as well.
  19. Thanks V-P!! Got some work on the engine done. Still need to come back over the engine with a semi gloss coat though. Here's a quick mock up of where I'm at right now.....
  20. This paint job that you have turned out very well. Silver, at least for me, is a very hard color to work with but looks like you nailed it. Are those Fireball carburetors on that engine? Those things look GREAT!!! I've got an idea on the spark plug wire boots if you want to give it a try on down the line. I hope you'll take this in the helpful way that it is intended. When I built my Maverick, I built it with a 427 Cammer engine as well and used the heads of pins to replicate the snap on boots like so. First I chucked the needles up in a drill and spun the heads up against a file as to reduce the circumference of the pin heads Then I then cut them to length. Then drilled the holes where they were to be inserted and fit them into place so I could attain the correct height ...... Once I got the height right I painted them black and ran the wires... T
  21. Awww man. The paint / masking blues. I've got complete confidence that you'll make 'er through this one fine Mike. It IS a bit frustrating at the time though.
  22. I'll bet the competition took on whole new beating with that 460 though. Those things are brutes when they're built right. I almost.....I mean came damn near putting one of those in my 89 Fox body and it's entirely doable too. With some 1" K-frame to body spacers that 460 will fit right under a stock hood. No one would ever know. Guaranteed to ruin somebody else's party.
  23. That's some good contrasting between the frame rails and the body pan Tony and those details are nicely picked out by the burnt sienna oil. Looks great man.
