  1. I love the addition of the book. Librarians rule Ook!
  2. I keep looking at these that come with a globe... it's just shouting Deathstar at me.
  3. Where did you find your base unit? Been looking and can't find anything for a reasonable price
  4. I second that - I too want someone else to do all the hard work up front so that I can cruise in and make one a lot easier. I had had seen this done with a land Speeder model and wondered how it was done, but I'm a "Clanky" not a "Sparky" so this is going to be hard for me to work out: unless of course Madmonk makes us all forever grateful!
  5. I know I've said this before but I do like what you do with your display based - especially this time as you have somewhere to place a nice on off switch
  6. Have you thought about clay washes?
  7. I get what you meant when you suggested sponging wash on now Andy, does make a real difference! K2 is looking great!
  8. I'm hungry for more pictures - from what I'm seeing here it looks good. Never spotted the plot hole regarding the booster into orbit from earth but nowhere else!
  9. Thanks for the info (especially the cats - I've got 2 Siamese; Gandalf and Jasmin). Your description f dry brushing is exactly how I guess it is done - I did edges that I felt would wear and manually painted chips in a similar fashion. Your looks good.
  10. I'm just happy it does not look like Nicholas Cage; not that I don't like some of his movies (Gone in 60 Seconds) but I am afraid I was not a fan of Ghost Rider. Does look Josh Kirbyesque though Pete - I see that look too.
  11. There are loads of videos on YouTube about hairspray chipping and salt chipping (looks really clever and I'm itching to try it), washes are are also covered on there - I've played with citadel nuln oil wash and made my own from Vallejo acrylics with varying degrees of success (my R2D2 WIP chronicles my problems), I'm going to get a set of Ultimate Weathering Washes or the Flory Wash equivalents to play with next as they can be completely removed with warm water and I like the idea of that safety net.
  12. Now all you need is a submarine poking through an ice sheet runway for refuelling! not seen that film since it came out at the cinema. Classic.
  13. Poodle, I can't believe that is dry brushing - looked to me like you had been using the hairspray technique. Very impressive. You are like me a 1970's out of the box airfix builder that has returned to the hobby and is just learning the tricks of he trade. I have dry brushed and washed but not used salt or hairspray chipping yet. Must say your Cylon looks terrific and he is HUGE!
  14. That is a monster. Love the little Falcon that comes with it. That does look damn good.
  15. My word that guy has seen some hard times. Welcome aboard Poodles!
  16. Well Pierre, the view from here says it was worth the effort.
  17. Very subtle panel pin wash there Pierre, looks really nice, do I detect a hint of paint in there too?
  18. I keep coming back and looking at this. I want one!
  19. It's like the next logical step in the development of the vehicle. It works really well. Nicely done.
  20. The pre shading of panel lines is not something I had seen before - once you add the pin wash it looks amazing!
