Studio scale Snowspeeder 1:10 Scratchbuilt
The Chief Smeg replied to Mindmax's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
This is just getting too good for words, we get a build thread for a scratch build of a snow speeder; I’m going to need to get my chair pulled up for this one.- 243 replies

I had to google that one rockpopandchips, this is going to be an interesting build; I know very little about the gundam type stuff, I’m beginning to see the attraction

This might sound like a daft idea Roma, but have you considered getting a ‘comb type’ thing printed that would allow you to scrape the grooves clean?

Yes, and don’t forget that even though Rimmer died, he was “Very Very Brave about it”.

1/144 Star Wars At-At / Bandai
The Chief Smeg replied to Tolga Uzuner's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
Just looked at your semi completed AT-AT and is just looks like it is dancing to “Minnie the Moocher” by Cab Calloway - every time I look at that picture now I hear the music! -

Woah woah, where is the thread for the HK in the background of the last picture? who doesn’t like an AT-AT! Looking forward to seeing you do your painting and weathering. -
No problem Robert, as you can guess from my forum name I’m a fan if “the boys from the dwarf”

Robert, drop Warren a line on Tirydium models, I know he had a Starbug. It’s nit cheap though. Leigh

Dog Burster from Alien 3 (A bit gory)
The Chief Smeg replied to Carts's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
I’m sure it was a dog in the book -
Got this yesterday courtesy of Warren at Tyridium Models, it’s the JPG Productions 1/12 scale Imperial Probe Droid: The lighting kit is also from Tirydium and will be my first foray into a lighted model; now all I have to do is find the time to actually build this - my stash grows but I’ve not built anything for months!

To be honest Pete, I keep meaning to pop back into the one near my hotel in Derby, but I just seem to always have something else to do instead -

Welcome aboard and welcome back to the hobby - I too restarted after a long absence and it was also my son that was responsible, it can become an obsession too; this is not necessarily a bad thing- 6 replies

Ready Player One Movie

The book is excellent. Much better than his follow on called Armada (not as equal either, totally different) -
Moebius 1/32 Colonial Viper Mk.ii

I have a Mkii in the stash and I’m toying with the idea of the green strawberry PE for it. Warren at tyridium models does a lighting kit for this too and I have an imperial probe droid in order with him so I think I’ll get him to send me the lighting kit too. I’m going to be watching your build thread with interest -
Studio scale Snowspeeder 1:10 Scratchbuilt
The Chief Smeg replied to Mindmax's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
Yeah, I could not believe eve the size difference between the two kits. I wonder if scratch building is easier at that scale or does it simply bring with it a whole host of new problems? Not that I’m trying to say what you have accomplished here was easy, the amount of work that has gone into this makes me weak at the knees, I barely get a chance to build anything at the moment due to my work life intruding into my home life. That and decorating and apparently I cannot use my airbrush to paint the hall!- 243 replies
