Many thanks guys! The resin parts were cast very sharp with nice crisp details. My example came with one warped flap but hot water easily solve the problem. The fit of wing to fuselage is pretty good with little amount of filler needed. Hope this help.

Thank you all very much for opinions. I used UHU tac as masking material rolled into very tiny sausages to get sharp edge when airbrushing. I put and adjust them following a pattern from photographs of the real jet.

This is Academy 1/72 F/A-18C. Finished in unusual camouflage scheme from VFA-86 during 2004 OIF cruise. The kit went together fairly good. Kit's 'clean' wings were replaced with Wolfpack Design resin flap down wing set. Initially I intended to depict a jet immediately prior to be launched but I was unable to find a proper pilot so I just simply left cockpit vacant. Only thing I was really disappointed about this kit were weird angled main gear struts. I made multiple attempt to correct those kit parts without success so I discard them and robbed better looking main gear struts from a cheap Italeri F/A-18E kit. They were modified to fit Academy wheel well and detailed them up with pieces of plastics. I was so happy with the result. After decaling I was realized that the IFF birds slicers antennae at forward of a windshield should not be on my jet so they were removed. Cam Pro sheet no. 72-003 decals are quite excellent, very thin but strong enough for my handling, with Mr.Mark Softer my examples laid down perfectly. A GBU-31 bomb is from Hasegawa weapon set. I left right missile rail empty as someone I can't remember told me that since 2004 USN F-18C began armed with only a single AIM-9. Hope you enjoy.
