What WW1 airplane kits/bits followed you home today?
Howlindawg replied to Ted's topic in Aircraft WWI
Blagged one of these today. -
The racks look great. Would the bombs have been that weathered? I wouldn't have expected them to last long enough to get beaten up.
-
Immaculate paintwork. Gorgeous!
-
I'm fascinated to see how this masking process is going to work. Watching and learning.

Not yet, it only arrived today. I have used their WW1 German colours set though and they're easy to work with. -

This should go nicely with my 1/72 Roden Felixstowe. -

Did you try [email protected] ? Alternatively, Bachmann are the UK distributors.
-
That undercarriage looks fragile for such a large model.
-
Personally I like Roden but tend to only buy them when they're a good deal or discounted. I currently have 1/72 Felixstowe and Gotha in the stash. Probably the type of kit I'd be tempted to add to an order to bulk it out.

My second Bavarians set (32902) arrived today courtesy of @Duncan B Wingnut have really knocked it out of the park with these Boxings - now all I have to decide is which variations to build!

Someone's got their Mojo back baby!
-
Agreed! Such a little detail but it adds so much to the overall model.

How big are the landing lights in reality? Would a 1.8mm led lens provide a suitable starting point? (the dome part is 1.8mm) -
Some kind of a very special AAA battery

It's from this one. My daughter was very disappointed that they didn't make any more of the movies. -

Let there be string, and lo, there was string! I was surprised at how long this took me. I drilled .3mm holes in the controls and used a .4mm drill bit to twist some copper wire eyelets for the guides. I'm crossing my fingers that the control horns survive the remaining construction - they feel very vulnerable.

Heinkel 111P-2, Airfix 1:72, plus some extras
Howlindawg replied to Brandy's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Well it was worth waiting for. Superb result Ian, not that it's any surprise! -
That's a very nice result. I have one of these in the stash and had planned on it being my next build... then something else turned my head so perhaps not just yet. Great idea upcycling for your display stands!
