  1. I've taken a break from my main project, the Tamiya 1/35 sd.kfz 232, to build this. Its a great kit considering it was released in the early 1970's and still holds up well today in terms of fit. Some of the details however are not that great, for example the gun barrel. This model represents a Panzer II ausf F of the 6th Panzer Division:
  2. Managed to get quite a bit further with the build: I airbrushed the whole model Panzer Grey and the wheels NATO Black. I then applied the decals which would have to show through over the grey and varnished the whole model with Humbrol Clear. I started off the final coat and the chipping on the turret, using hairspray applied in two coats over the varnish. For the main colour I used my own mixture of Desert Yellow and Dark yellow. More progress to come...
  3. Thanks guys It is an excellent kit and great value too, the photoetch parts and the metal barrel really set it apart. Made some more progress tonight, I've been experimenting with primers and tried to use Plastikote black primer for this kit, however the finish wasn't as smooth as i'd hoped so I used wet and dry to even it out.
  4. Finally made some more progress with the model, in between revising for exams. Some filler was needed but overall fit is good. The antenna will be panzer grey so i'm leaving it off until the main hull is painted.
  5. This is my first 1/35 armour build after mainly building 1/72 vehicles and aircraft. I picked this kit up for £25 on Amazon, a great bargain considering it goes for £30-40 most places. I chose it because recently I'm really interested in WW2 German armoured cars, and I didn't want my first 1/35 kit to have a massive part count like some Dragon kits. Here's the obligatory box shots And the sprue shots: Lets get started with the build, this is an evening's work:
  6. This is absolutely incredible! The weathering is just right for the scale, not overdone and very realistic. I especially like the mud and chipping effects
  7. Thanks guys! As for the tracks they were slightly too long, so the track sag is too pronounced. In hindsight I should have shortened the tracks slightly. It was good practice for weathering anyway as i've just bought and am currently working on a Tamiya 1/48 Panzer III, so I'll post the results when its done
  8. This is my first build since returning to the hobby after taking a break to focus on college, and the first armour build in which I have attempted weathering. The kit went together very well with no filler needed and was airbrushed with tamiya acrylics. Humbrol gun metal was used for the drybrushing and an AK Interactive wash was used on the tracks. Any feedback is welcome
