  1. Dears, My "greate gratitude" to photobucket, who killed many WIP threads (including this one) here and at other modelling resources. I'll try to fix RFI thread for XF5U at nearest time, but unfortunatly I have no time/courage to fix all links at this thread. Sorry ( Anyway, all pictures alive at my PC. So if you need some of them just ping me. Also I hope they still reachable here - http://s32.photobucket.com/user/aecheburator/library/WIP/XF5U-1?sort=3&page=1

  3. Thank you, Nigel! David. I brought them today to annual exhibition-competition "MiniMax". It takes place here in Moscow.
  4. David, as I promised: Packed and ready to transportation:
  5. Thank you very much, friends! Very touched by your comments.
  6. Thank you a lot, David! Shure. I'm going to take them to the local exhibition at start of June. Before packing I will definitely make "group" photos. Right now both of them hanging on the rope (becouse of cat):
  7. Thank you, mates! Nigel, spacial* thanks for your support and inspiration! *special of course
  8. Thank you, Nigel! Finished! Filanal photos - here:
  9. Hi mates! Allready finished Flying Flapjack (KH 1/48) WIP link - Edited July 09 - all picture links changed from photobucket to onedrive
  10. Yes, Martin, it's realy works. Some hints: after shaping cover them with CA glue and use some metal rod to strengthen. By the way, bird is nearly redy to fly:
  11. Thank you, Remy. Working on antennas. Scratchbuild them from toothpics, small tubes and rodes:
  12. Nigel, thanks a lot! Added coat of semi-gloss: After deleting masks found some crap under canopy: Teared off canopy and rinse crap with watter. Hallelujah, it's almost gone!
  13. Thanks, Nigel. Also tend to semi gloss. Some grey-brown wash:
  14. Thanks mates! David, it'll be at least some washing and pigments. After that - clear coat (gloss or semi-gloss, I didn't decide yet).
  15. Thank you, Nigel! Some small parts: Lamnding gears, almost done:
  16. Nigel, Martin - thank you, friends. Added clear parts and balanciers to stabilizers: Coat of aluminium: First layer of base color:
  17. Some process update. Sanding near finished. Finished all landing gears doors. Started panel lines and rivettes rescribing:
  18. David, regarding color of this plane: Problem is that I don't have any color photo of this plane. And I'm not sure that they exist at all I didn't find any mention of XF5U color at Naval Fighters 21 (only book I have). In instruction mentioned "midnight blue". It's looks too dark. So you right, it's really "a highly subjective mine field". I'll try to paint it navy blue (wich also have a lack of blueish from my perspective). But this option seems to me the most believable
  19. Martin, David, thanks! Done, seems almost fine: And little more sanding:
  20. Nigel, Mike, Martin - thanks mates! Sanding, surfacing, puttying - it'll be long road:
  21. Intake ventilator masked and painted (separate masking of each blade is so boring thing): And glued on place: As you can see, fitting is not good. So it'll be lots of puttying and sanding. So I masked canopy and also glued it to preserve cockpit from the mess:
