  1. The cockpit is perfect. The engine just very minor niggles but pretty much so.
  2. My second build of this first class new kit. This time, as I'd saved lots by getting over-trees only from Eduard, I added a Brassin cockpit set, Brassin engine, fabric seat-belts and some lovely Eagle Cal decals. Zero fit issues with any of the resin parts.
  3. Beautiful build but it messes with my head!!
  4. This is the 4th one I've built but the first in this scheme. One of my favorite kits to put together.
  5. Eduard Taifun in 1/48 with the addition of Techmod decals. Willy Messerschmitt's personal aircraft.
  6. I wasn't but I'm checking them out now...wow!! I need to build another ...
  7. The decals are generic and come in A4 sheets. That means a bit more work but it was worth it.
  8. Very painless and enjoyable build. Tried a few new techniques with Uschi VDR wood decals and Aviattic linen decals.
  9. How's the cockpit transparency? I built this last year and it seemed like the mould was way past it's useful life. I ended up getting a vac replacement. Just curious.
  10. Excellent job! Very familiar with this aircraft from my time at Cosford. You'd like to think there would be at least some quality control at Brigade? Sounds like you pretty much scratch built the conversion.
  11. Wow...just wow. I've built lots of these and got nowhere near this. The only time I tried to use the engine set I ended up chucking it all away. Such an inspiring build!!
  12. More work on my days off (I'm lucky as my shifts give me 4 days on the spin to work on stuff) RAF Mid-Stone base coat (Hataka Acrylics) Dark Earth camo (Blutac method used for demarcation) Underside sprayed Azure Blue Gloss coated and decalled, with some oil panel lines in. This version had no large fuselage numbers identifying it, just the small serial numbers at the rear.
  13. Lovely detail on the wings All fitted beautifully... Main bits assembled, minimum fill required,. All primed and pre-shaded.
  14. Today's update: Radiator coated with Alclad Aluminium prior to wash. Rear view after wash with MIG Night Black Internal stuff going in Buttoned up fuselage...and relax.
  15. Some slightly better pictures of the cockpit work.
  16. Cockpit starting to come together. Remember the large PE seat? Well here it is in place: The scale looks spot on. Dread to think what the tiny original seat would have looked like. Next some more work on the instrument panel. My old eyes and fingers struggle with the PE levers so I discarded them and scratch built some from stretched sprue with a blob of Glue & Glaze on top. Think I got it about right.
  17. Seat done with lovely etched belts. Cockpit internal details beginning to come together Sidewall control panel in mid-construction
  18. Onto the cockpit frames...more photoetch to add to kit parts. Extras really add to the look of the frame. Sprayed with Alclad Silver and with a MIG wash.
  19. Ok, let's go. First up we are dealing with the instrument panel. The kit part needs to have the raised detail removed to take the photoetch replacement. So it's out with the old Dremel... Original Kit part Stop! Dremel time! No going back now... Photoetch for the interior While the instrument panel is drying (black sprayed) it's onto the replacement etch seat... Note the size difference between the kit part and Eduard's etch replacement...yowzers!!
  20. It's been a very long time since I did a WIP thread on any forum. About time I addressed that. So I'll be building the new Eduard 'Tiffy' boxing of the Hasegawa Typhoon. Just to add a little interest, I've opted to go for a desert livery with the addition of Techmod decals. Hopefully I can make a fair stab at this and keep a few entertained. Everything washed and drying prior to kicking off!
  21. Very stress-free build this. Added some Eduard syeel seat belts and some brake lines too.
  22. My only critisism is that it's too damn good...wow!!!
  23. The cockpit is shot, just a mess, interior not great. Perhaps I'm being a little harsh
