  1. Do we know what markings are to be included?
  2. Do you know what, for the shear hell of it ,I would too....
  3. Yes, so did I and I paid £48.95.(including some J points) But now I see from them its £67.95....
  4. Ah, right, missed that. Thank you. So it looks like the tailwheel/skid and fin size could be the fly in the ointment then?
  5. So, could you not build a Mk.IIa from a Mk. II? Is it not just a slightly more powerful engine?
  6. Mmm, now 'withdrawn by the seller as the item is no longer available' Makes you wonder if it was listed in error?
  7. Been on my 'wants list' for some time now. Some lovely colour schemes out there. Bring it on.
  8. No, indeed. Been waiting for these for what seems ages.
  9. I'm know theres a reasonable explanation regarding dates but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. The Hendon aircraft is the other way around and yet the one on the cover of the Warpaint is as per kit. The first profiles in said book are all drawn blue first but most after that are red first. Over to you experts....
  10. Yes, indeed which is a right pain if you particularly wanted to build the wartime version. I would assume the model is based on the flying one belonging to the Collings Foundation aircraft which actually is a J....
  11. I'm interested in building the forthcoming Airfix kit in one of these aircraft of the 486th Bomb Group. I was going to build Pisces as its my birth sign but, I don't think its possible as the kit is a Ford H and I think Pisces is a CF (Fort Worth) Can anyone confirm this please as there seems to been conflicting information out there? Is there much of a difference (nose and turret etc) Also the serial numbers on some of the Kits World decals don't seem to tie up with photos and details available elsewhere. For instance, Kits World say Pisces is 252517 but various sources say its 129517... So, the bottom line is, are there any definitive details and histories out there I could rely on? Thanks for your help.
  12. Yes indeed it is, but, what grey did you use as it looks just about right?
  13. Morning Steve, Thanks for the photos. I did actually find those myself and I think they must be the latest available. I'll see what turns up when I get to the painting stage. Again, thanks for your help and have a great Christmas.
  14. Thanks for your time and input Steve. It seems strange I can't find any up to date photos which is why I asked. Yep, looked on all the usual sites. The aircraft in question is from VMFAT-501 (dated 2023) from Furball sheet 48091. The one with the white rudder. The colour they say is all over 16170 so I can only assume they have evidence to prove it? Interestingly on their sheet 48069 there is my second choice of VMFAT-501 (dated 2018) and its shown with the lighter RAM panels. Also one of the options in the Italeri kit. But, like you say I can build it as I like. But I would like to get it right if I can.
  15. The date is only relative as the aircraft I'd like to build has the lighter RAM panels and the photo is dated 2018. I was simply wondering/guessing whether that same aircraft has now been repainted all over 16170 as I really can't be asked to mask all the panels. Although I suppose they'd still need to masked to spray them 36270.....
  16. Ah, right, thank you. So about 4 years ago then. All I need to work out now is which is the best one to use. I've read good things about the MRP system.
  17. Probably a long shot but does anyone know roughly when F-35s were starting to be given an all over scheme of FS16170 instead of having the RAM panels painted in a lighter colour? Thank you.
  18. Thanks for you input chaps but as the saying goes, seek and ye shall find. Still not a very common occurance I wouldn't think but still possible. main-qimg-8ba695677ca60b27e6bb8c4528c0cbb8-lq main-qimg-4bd707227383555c365ba63d7e7d9d72-pjlq
  19. Just about to start the new Tamiya F-35B as my Christmas project. I was intrigued to notice the various configuration options provided. Am I correct in understanding that I can't display the model with the canopy open AND the lift fan doors doors open too? It started me looking at as many photos online of the real aircraft and I must admit I haven't found one..(yet) Is this not an option on the real aircraft? I suppose under maintenance its possible is it?
  20. I decided to leave out both boxes as they take up space that could be used for weight. I put about 80g in between the two of them and it seems OK. Whether it'll need a set of SAC metal gear legs remains to be seen..
