  1. And here a few ..can’t tell you what shipping will do to the overal price.. https://www.aviationmegastore.com/corrected-b24-liberator-engine-cowls-academy-hpa072009-high-planes-models-hpa072009-vliegtuigmotoren/product/?action=prodinfo&art=58914 cheers,Jan
  2. The list of flying Ju52’s does need an update as allmost all European ones are a grounded at the moment.. The D-CDLH of the Lufthansa stiftung is permanently grounded as Lufthansa pulled out of the stiftung and the aircraft is stored... All Swiss aircraft (two Junkers and one Casa with original BMW engines ) are also grounded at the moment after the HB-HOT crash although rumors are still saying that are going back in the air...although it is not very likely to happen... You still have the F-AZJU that still fly's in France ..that is actually a Casa aircraft as well Then there is the South African one that was airworthy but they stopped flying it as wel, due to financial problems.. The American was going to a new owner at 17 December 2018 To Training Services Inc, Virginia Beach, VA keeping c/r N352JU. As far as I can see the only flyer at the moment is the French F-AZJU. Luckily I was able to fly on D-CDLH (ju52) and HB-HOY ( Casa 352) I also have seen them flying in a formation of six a few years ago in Germany and what a sight that was...it all seem to be over now.... It is a great aircraft to fly and you can turn it on a dime if you like too... cheers, Jan
  3. I would love to join in👍🏼 still got a nice Bristol F2b from Eduard in 1/48 that I bought for 10 euro’s Cheers, Jan
  4. Some updates on the Airfix workbench....also some nice piccy’s of the Tiger Moth... https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/news/workbench/new-spitfire-kit-joins-the-airfix-ranks cheers, Jan
  5. @RatchI have used different gloss paints for alclad metal colors as a base and some of them when used couldn’t hold the alclad and could be rubbed of! I don’t have this with the honey primer and they call it a primer I think just because it is a good base for the alclad in order to put any color underneath it .. So if you have different shade of grey and black in Matt paint on your subject then you can gloss it up in the end and just put one fine layer of the metal color you like and have all the shades of metal you like.. In my experience Matt paint covers better then gloss so that will be a benefit ..I tried it and I like it😉 cheers, Jan
  6. Bought once a stack of 10 Heller Warning stars in the nineties for ten Dutch guilders ..when the Exchange rate was 5 dutch guilders for 1 Pound sterling...🤪 Those where the days.. I had some matchbox Privateers as well for that price.. cheers, Jan
  7. Hello Pete, nice to see this kit built..I started one a long time ago and surfaced today from my secret stash haha( just a place at a friends place untill I got my home moving sorted) As I allready started it once I can tell you that the fit needs some attention at the intake section as they are a little oversized compared to the fuselage wher they need to mate up.. Nice detail is the pilots as they have a very proactive pose...not seeing this often.. I surely think that this will build into a nice example of a Intruder! Following this with interest.... cheers, Jan
  8. Nice subtile build kit and it looks great in that hangar as well.. cheers, Jan

    Matt varnish

Thanks for the info, I like to use the allclad range and in particular the light sheen they have as it is pretty Matt but not flat dead Matt.. The Humbrol acrylic clear doesn’t cut it for me even when I used the newer formula...( I live in a very drafty and not dry environment) cheers, Jan
  10. Well it is usefull..honey primer is a clear coat primer and can be used on any surface....I used it too make a chrome finish over my Matt BLACK stynylrez primer and works well and also gives a durable finish.. As the stynylrez is selfleveling the finish is great allready and I put the clear on it to get a good coat for the chrome or whatever allclad you use..( stynylrez has a gloss coat as well but don’t like it’s behavior ) You can use it on plastic whitout another coat of color underneath it ..as it says it is a clearcoat primer.. cheers, Jan
  11. My choices are made by a certain feel of a subject which I like as it is for me also an extension of my aviation hobby... It can be everything, but I do have a red line which consist of airliners used in a secondary role as freighter and firebomber, I also do oddballs And one-offs or specialist military aircraft... Scale isn’t a limiting factor, I build em all.... So there is a wide variety in my stash which is to big😂 cheers, Jan
  12. As Heller is releasing the C118 Liftmaster again after a longe absence on the scene Plus model is going to release a cowling set for it.. https://www.aviationmegastore.com/engine-cowling-for-c-118-liftmaster-heller-al7031-plus-model-al7031-vliegtuigmotoren/product/?action=prodinfo&art=168254 Finally a good and easy accessable way to obtain a good cowling set with correct airintakes for this lovely kit which is lovely casted as all Plus model items. Dana Kopher once did a set for it but was difficult to get and I must tel you that Harald Hensel of Hahen did one once which is still available.. cheers, Jan
  13. Not really Alaskan but still civil...scroll a little please.. https://www.aviationmegastore.com/search/Hercules/p0/cM/s144/f https://www.shopdrawdecal.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=44-C130-4 https://www.shopdrawdecal.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=44-C130-01Kit https://www.shopdrawdecal.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=44-C130-02 https://www.shopdrawdecal.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=44-C130-10 Small note on the Drawdecal golden nugget scheme : the gold is not gold as he doesn’t print any real metallics anylonger... cheers, Jan
  14. That is a very nice build👍 Love the comparison between those two adversaries .. cheers, Jan
  15. Haha not as sharp after a day of flying ....hypoxia🙃 Love thiegh neighbor.... cheers , Jan
  16. That is really a neat build😎 you are putting a lot of effort into it.. cheers, Jan
  17. Well I expected it and everything that will stay available wil be getting more expensive as well as all that red tape needs to be paid... I am from the Netherlands and it will be coming our way as well..everything needs to be checked and we probably will pay 21% tax on everything coming from the UK and it will be costing me a payment of custom declaration fee in the order of almost a 10 pounds ... So buying from the UK which I did on a regular basis will be drawing to a close for me..... I think it is still a pity seeing you leave😐 cheers, Jan
  18. Well I am not an expert on the Ju52 but you need reference, my casa 352 is a Spanish copy but it lacks the door as this one was left of during restoration I believe... It all depends on what you are planning to build...try to find some reference.. The airfix kit lacks all those doors... cheers, Jan
  19. Whatever door you put inthe corrugation on the doors is different then the fuselage... I opted to do some work with milliput... First I made a negative mold from milliput bij using the fuselage corrugation as a template and make it big enough to place it over your opening after it hardened....after this process place milliput on the inside in your door opening and let it harden..use some sort of mold release stuff, in my case it was sunflower oil....🤪 And tada you have one corrugated piece wich is exactly the same as your kit. I did one door and two windows on the heller kit in order too get the correct layout for HB-HOY that I am building that is why the nose is different then a normal ju52 as this is a casa 352.... To me the best kit for a civvy ju52 is the old Airfix kit as this one doesn’t have the freight or small forward side doors...you only have to close up the hatch on the roof..... cheers, Jan
  20. Oh dear, I have to be patient again....😉 in the end I hope for those involved and living in affected area’s that they pull through . I don’t sleep less about a few models coming later than planned.. cheers, Jan
  21. @dogsbody the Cat you mentioned is probably on of those aircraft that had the blue-grayish camo with the other color in the pattern as being a lighter gray one.. The colors on the newly delivered ones tends to be more like a non specular sea blue ANA607.. In the past I have flown the restored one in its blue-gray scheme and depending on the light on that color was sometimes more gray or blue...according to the owners in that time period they told me that it was painted according to the original DuPont specs.. I must say that it (perfectly) matched what I have seen on the color pics in the past Though I have my doubts for the white ... I have more info in a book (camouflage en kentekens) but that one is in a big stash of books and is boxed up.. Next week I am able to look it up if needed.. Cheers, Jan ps the last picture is too blue this is not what it looked like as i can recall! https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/operator/CAT Air extra info regarding non specular sea blue.. If you cover the lighter shade off then the non specular comes close to the dutch one above.. I regard this aircraft as good reference for the three tone scheme..
  22. True but i do think it is a partially a repaint job that they did on this and that the machine is still a mystery.. Or they painted it in the same style as the other ones that were imported.. It still has the black walkways in the original style (maybe the did a construction plate change as this was a strange period with exporting aircraft to the us and so on..) cheers, Jan
  23. Great build🤘 found some pics on the net from platinum fighter sales as they had one of the originals on sale... Now you can see how close you where with this scheme😁 What color did you use for the light olive Reini? cheers, Jan
  24. Check this out http://www.radubstore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=77_110 The same thing but allready for years available...I use them and am pretty pleased with them.. cheers, Jan
  25. A nice ball it will be👌👌 cheers ,Jan
